Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Dear Kalikaroo,

I don't talk about TTC to DH. Clearly we have spoken about it and made the decision that having a child is a terribly daunting exciting thing to do, but other than that, he is blissfully unaware of my obsession determination to have a baby asap! If I did talk aboiut it lots, I think he'd feel pressured more than bored and I don't want that. I had to wait a long time (or so it felt) for him to feel ready for a baby, so I'm determined not to mess it up with nagging. I use this forum to rabbit away about my every thought and bodily function!
I have also heard from many male friends that when their girlfriedns/wives have announced their PG, it's really hard for them after the initial 'whopee' because not much changes for them until the baby arrives, whereas the woman is constantly aware that she is having a child...I think that's when me and DH will differ because when i am PG, I'll be talking about it all the time!!
The only time we really talk about children, is when we critisize comment on the evil antics behaviour of DH's friend's devil child little cherub! (I can so see us eating our words!)
Anyway...that's what it's like in our house...

And, buyt the way...you should test!!!

Morning!

I've just been on fertilityfriend and I'm now on CD35 now apparently... Still no witch...

My cycle average is 32 days, but it can vary, so I'm not getting too excited yet.

Have very feint sort of crampiness, but not sure if I'm imagining it or not. Might be a sign that the witch is on her way.

Anyhoo, we'll see what happens today. DH keeps making bored faces when I talk about it, so I think I'll not mention anything to him until a baby actually appears in my arms!

Is anyone else's DH or DP sick of you talking about it all the time???

Bonifacio · 24/07/2008 03:52

Hey all, SATC fans, I did the quiz and i got Carrie! yey! I love that series and Love SJP, there is a rumour going round at the moment that she has had the mole (I really think its a mole not a wart!!) removed, and it does look better. I can see where your coming from Dawn It wasn't exactly an attractive feature!!

Well AF is still invading the house, though should be over soon and according to my calculations I should be OV'ing next Friday!! Roll on first month TTC!!

Well done Crunchy for your pilates, I was also under the impression that you shouldn't start anything new before being pg which is why I started now. ALthough I haven't been to yoga in ages and you have to pay in bulk for the lessons which is a pain as we have visitors next month so won't be able to go as often. So I don't think it will be worth the money.

Hi Saz Welcome, this is the lucky thread. We all intend to get BFP's on our first try now that Dawn has set the precident!!

I am off swimming now, at least i've managed to keep that up!!

DawnAS · 23/07/2008 19:49

Anyway, if anyone wants me, I'll be in my nice bubble bath with a cup of (decaf) tea and my Cathy Kelly book!! DH has taken our lab out for her evening walk so I've got the place to myself....

Aaaaaahhhhhh......

(We're in a 2-up 2-down - really not that far from one room to the next...)

Hey Kal,

Never TMI on here hun!! How many days do you normally have in your cycle?

I have to admit that if I hadn't had the Implantation bleed, I probably wouldn't have noticed any symptoms either... Still may be worth doing a test though!!

Well done Crunchy on your first pilates class!! They say (on the 10 zillion web pages that I've read) that you shouldn't start a new exercise regime once you're pregnant, you should just continue with what you did before... I'm so gutted! I was looking forward to slogging my guts out at the gym when I could be at home eating!! NOT!!!

I firmly believe that as long as you change hands now and again, remote controls can very easily be classed as light weights!!

Well, I do walk the dog for around an hour a day so I guess I do something!!

So, I won't be joining a salsa class quite yet....

Hi folks!

Hello Saz - I'm new to this game too, so don't worry if you have any daft questions

So, I'm on CD33 now (I think) and still no sign of the witch and no symptoms either. NOT going to get my knickers in a knot just yet though...

Have decided that if there's no sign by the weekend I'll give in and maybe do a test

Going camping this weekend though (in a tent!), so don't really want the witch to arrive anyway...not sure if there's going to be toilets around and don't fancy having to hide in the bushes - ok TMI!!!

crunchynutter · 23/07/2008 17:38

lol Dawn you always make me laugh! Your boobies look great!

Right ladies-i am getting fed up- nearly 6 weeks now and still no AF so i am considering reflexology or accupuncture- i searched for it on here and found loads of ppl saying it had helped them to have babies or to regulate periods so i am going to find one!

Ohh and i did my first pilates class today- proud of me? xx

DawnAS · 23/07/2008 17:26

Oh that boob thing was totally wasted on you guys 'cos they don't look wide now I've posted the message - humour me ladies. I want lots of PMSL!!!

xx

OP posts:
DawnAS · 23/07/2008 17:25

By the way Summerbird, thank you for asking, I'm fine thank you!! A bit of cramping today but nothing major. Boobs are still sore and they just feel BIG...

Aaahhhh, your poor (.)(.) (why don't my boobs look like yours? Maybe they will when I post the message - although I was only complaining earlier that mine are looking wider - maybe that's why they look wider on this message - PMSL - !!!). Is it too painful to let your DH/DP (not suggesting that you've got both a DH and a DP, just can't remember which yours was - ha ha ha!!!) rub them better for you? Could help with the old BDing?!

DawnAS · 23/07/2008 17:20

Hey all,

Welcome saz007!! Well I'm testament to things don't always go the way you expect them to!!

I'd been on Dianette for 9 years and Cilest before that for 7 years, I'm 34, came off the pill 3 months ago, started trying in the last month and found out that I was pregnant yesterday!! (DH is gutted, he wanted at least a few months of me initiating BDing!!).

So it goes to show that everyone is completely different and I guess when your body's ready, your body's ready!!

I have no real tips either, other than, from when AF finishes, start BDing every other day, then you're bound to catch OV. Once you've learnt when you're OVing, you can stop BDing after that (to give your body a rest - ha ha) and then you're in the 2ww zone!! That's when it gets exciting for everyone waiting on these threads!! I'm not leaving here until you're all PG!!

xxx

PS: Summerbird, I didn't think I was the only mad one that didn't like SJPs Wart!!!

saz007 · 23/07/2008 16:31

Thanks for the welcome Flirty

Came off Cillest in March after a v long time (about 13 years!!) and cycles have varied between 24 and 28 days. Actually I'm beginning to get obsessed with counting dates on my calendar!
Thinking I may OV in the next couple of days....better get down to some BDing which will make DH a happy bunny!!

FlirtyThirty · 23/07/2008 16:25

Welcome Saz! You're joining a lucky thread...
I'm on month 2 TTC#1 so very new to this too...feeling positive about this month's impending effort though!

Do you know when you ovulate? Or are you just taking it as it comes...?

saz007 · 23/07/2008 16:21

Hi ladies,

Hope you don't mind me joining the thread. I've been lurking for a while and decided to take the plunge.

First month TTC so all advice/tips appreciated!!

crunchynutter · 23/07/2008 16:18

I am Charlotte- i did a quiz :-) I have two samantha friends and a miranda but we are missing a carrie- tho i think there is a little Carrie in all of us! hehe xx

summerbird · 23/07/2008 14:04

PMSL dawn my friend who is clearly a Samantha doesnt watch it for the same reason as you!

So how are you today? I have sore (.)(.) but that is because i fell over last night (running for the train in high heeled sandals - NOT drunk i add, well - not much!!) on the 2WW which is uber annoying!

DawnAS · 23/07/2008 13:51

I don't know whether I should totally embarass myself... Ok I will.

I've never ever seen an episode of "Sex and the City" ... In fact, I always thought that it was "Sex in the City"!!

But you know how little things bug you for no reason?! I don't like the wart on Sarah-Jessica Parker's face.... I have nothing against warts, I know loads of people with them (I used to have them on my fingers when I was little ), but for some reason, on her it really bugs me... She didn't have it in "Project X" (with Matthew Broderick) when she was younger!!

Ok, I'm just going to shut up now and go and stick my head in a box...

My Preseed is here...roll on the 1st August and let the Summer of Love^ commence!

9I warn you girls...it looks awfully technical though....)

crunchynutter · 23/07/2008 10:11

summerbird i'm pmsl! i too got it from the lovelies on SATC! I have all series's on DVD and trust all those girls say! i shall read your links though for more clarification... think i fancy a cosmo now xx

summerbird · 23/07/2008 09:46

sex and the city was my life bible through singledom, new relationship and subsequent marriage!! you know the bit in the film where Charlotte says that she is happy in her relationship every day - that is me! however i do look more like and am as sarcastic as Miranda!

I wouldnt believe anything that medics say about acupuncture, i work in the medical field (in admin - am not a swot!) and it is common for medics to disregard any kind of alternative therapy, i would see what the hippies have to say about it. (summerbird goes off to google hippy websites - blimey we are all busy this morning!)

FlirtyThirty · 23/07/2008 09:23

Sorry...that last post is for women on IVF .

However, this is claiming no benefit:

FlirtyThirty · 23/07/2008 09:19

summerbird - PMSL at you taking fertility advice from Sex & The City! That's hilarious! I too have heard various positive stories about acupuncture. I'm not sure what I really think about it to be honest. But even if it is all in the mind,it can all help..
I have not read this yet (will do) but here's what the British Medical Journal has to say:

summerbird · 23/07/2008 09:00

i agree with you dawn my friend told everyone as soon as she found out as she had the same idea that if anything went wrong she would want support.

crunchynutter i have heard that acupuncture can be successful - although i got that from Sex and the City (Charlotte did it) so my sources are a bit dodgy!!

bluestarlavender · 22/07/2008 19:24

Hi guys,

I've got some pre-seed...ordered it as soon as I was feeling unPG this month!! Haven't tried it yet, but it's just lubricant that's swimmer-friendly. Might be helpful in the summer of love 2008 .

Crunchy - have a lovely evening out!!!

crunchynutter · 22/07/2008 18:49

I have just googled it! All the answers are there Linwin I am thinking of going to my doctors and asking if there is anything i can do to become more fertile! I am also considering reflexology or accupuncture to try to help get things working again- anyone else heard any success stories about this?

I must get ready for out romantic night out now! Again- Congtratulations Dawn ! I will be having baby dreams tonight! xx

Linwin · 22/07/2008 18:36
