Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Hate to burst the bubble ladies...but the legs in the air is an old wives tale...scientifically makes no difference. Orgasm on the other hand, actively helps push the sperm in the right direction....

Oh, and Bonifacio...don't worry about loads coming out. It only takes one...and you are not alone!

Morning!

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes - I'm still in complete denial at the mo', but DH is back this evening so I'm going to tell him then!!

Bonifacio, we're living in Sweden at the moment.

Here'some babydust for everyone ***
I'll let you all know what happens when I tell DH!

Bonifacio · 25/07/2008 06:13

OMG Kalikaroo Fantastic news congratulations!! I definatley think you shoudl wait till the weekend then test again annd pretend to be shocked, it won't be that hard and I think its more about looking ridiculously excited, which lets face it your going to be able to pull off!!! Congratulations again!!

I too have an inability to stop talking about it to my DP and I know I am driving him mad, but in my defence we were supposed to start ttc over a year ago but he wanted to put it off till January this year so I agreed, then January cam and he wanted to put it off till now. So I have told him that if we had done it when we first agreed I wouldn't be obsessive or talk about it all the time, I also plan to defy gravity and have my legs in the air!! TMI but is it just me where absolutely loads falls back out (what a waste!! )

Also kalikaroo where in the world are you??

I can't believe I miss everything because of the damn time difference

summerbird · 24/07/2008 20:36

wow thanks for that - i have saved the link and taken notes! i was good tonight girls, only had two beers, dont feel woozy though but was quite happy to stop at that (not like me!!)

DawnAS · 24/07/2008 18:26

Hey Summerbird and Saz,

There's lots of different info on Implantation Bleeds. Going to give you lots of TMI now and also added a link.

It normally occurs between 6-12 days after OV (some sites say 8-10) and mine started with some reddy/browny coloured CM on the Sunday night. Thought it was very odd because AF was still about 9 days away. On the Monday morning, there was a very small amount (literally just a slight showing) of brown blood in my underwear (the sort that you get at the end of AF or right at the beginning). Then the same again on the Tuesday. All of this was accompanied by AF type cramps. Some people say it's not as bad as AF cramps, but it was worse for me because I only normally get them for a day during AF and these lasted a week! Still get them a little bit some days, but now it's down to ligaments and muscles moving around apparently !

www.babycentre.co.uk/preconception/activelytrying/toptensignsofpregnancy/

Also bear in mind that you can STILL have an AF if you're pregnant, particularly in the first month. So if you are PG, that would explain the very light AF this month.

I had some strange symptoms before my last AF aswell (which was only 1.5 days long last month), which is making me think that I might be further along than I am, but it could just have been a coincidence...

xxx

PS: Hope all that helps girls!!

PPS: Hey Crunchy - hope you're Ok today!!

OH MY GOD!!! Kalikaroo!! Congratulations! I can't believe to of you have graduated to preganant ladies!! I would have to tell my husband straight away but thats because i have a big mouth and he can read me like a book even over the phone he knows stuff! I think hes pyschic when it comes to me! Wow!

SO both of you ladies did the pillow trick eh...? Hmm interesting

unfortunately i dont think any trick will work with me right now as i still dont think im even ovulating yet am going to try reflexology or accupuncture when i get paid tho to get my ovulation up and running!

Congratulations again both of you! Im very proud that your effort have paid off! xx

summerbird · 24/07/2008 16:51

thanks for asking that saz as i dont know either - when does the implantation bleed come? is that directly after conception or just before AF....?

i am so excited for dawn and kalikaroo am really hoping its me this month although am not convinced, only on day 18 today, and off for drinks after work, only want to have a couple as dont want to ruin any chances, my friend said she knew when she was PG as she felt woozy after two glasses of wine!

bluestarlavender · 24/07/2008 16:42

Kalikaroo - didn't realise he was away!! Yes, definitely do another test together!! I have to say though, I'd burst if I didn't tell DH straight away...

saz007 · 24/07/2008 16:39

Dawn can I ask about the Implantation bleed - is this like a small visit from AF? Or is it something completely different? I ask as AF didnt stay long on her last visit (only about 2/3 days instead of the usual 5 and was a lot lighter)

Thanks

DawnAS · 24/07/2008 16:29

K, if he's actually away then it's not that difficult to tell a little white lie, so definitely tell him face to face.

Don't worry, I don't feel anything either (apart from the fact that I've got a bloody sore throat but I don't think that's baby related - ). My boobs are tender but that's about it. I only knew something was up before AF because I had an Implantation bleed, otherwise I don't think I'd have known. Felt tired last week, but fine now!

Oh I see - yes def wait 'til you can do it face to face! How exciting! Congrats again

Kalikaroo · 24/07/2008 15:54

DH is away on a course until tomorrow and there's no way I'd tell him over the phone!!

If I am pg then I think it will be due at the end of March.

It's weird though because I don't really feel anything - just a tiny bit of discomfort. I feel really hot too, but that might just be the shock!

Linwin · 24/07/2008 15:53

Congratulations Kalikaroo !!! this is turning out to be a very lucky thread indeed.

Its Thursday today so you don't have long to wait and I'm sure your DH will appreciate being there with you

saz007 · 24/07/2008 15:46

Thanks Dawn, I'm liking the thread very much...it seems like a lucky place to be right now!!

Fingers crossed for the rest of us

xx

DawnAS · 24/07/2008 15:45

Is your DH away then?

Kalikaroo · 24/07/2008 15:41

I'm in total shock! It seems so unreal! I've decided to wait til the weekend to confirm that it's a positive, since I don't believe the test 100%...then DH can be there and then
I'll finally believe it!!

God! Can I wait that long though!!!!???????

DawnAS · 24/07/2008 15:38

Sorry kalikaroo, took me 45 minutes to post the last message so I hadn't seen your new one!!

wooooooohoooooooo!!! Congratulations!! That is such fab news!! So tell me, how many weeks pregnant are you?!!

xxxx

OP posts:
DawnAS · 24/07/2008 15:37

Kalikaroo definitely PMSL to that one!!

Hey Summerbird, don't you worry, I put a pillow under my hips too and look where I am?!!! Think of it as another form of pilates girls and do your stomach crunches while your hips are up!!! (Actually scrap that, if you squeeze too much, the critters might all come out again - ha ha ha!!!)

Saz, hope you're enjoying being on our thread - it's great fun!! We're all nutters (especially Crunchy, it's not just in the name you know...)

eth Don't worry, apparently critters (the nicer word for sperm.... can stay alive inside for about 72 hours. And they do say that if you want a girl, you're better off doing it for a few days before OV as those critters are slower but live longer, but if you want a boy, BD just before and on the day of OV because they're faster but don't live as long... that's what I heard anyway!!

Thanks PosyFossil!! Now you've joined this thread it will happen for you!!

Big waves and to everyone else!!

OMG congrats!!! You have to tell him, he'll guess when he sees you smiling!! Wow, that is so exciting!!

summerbird · 24/07/2008 15:19

kalikarooooooooooooooooo woo hoo congrats!! you and Dawn need to sprinkle some fairy dust on me! Fantabulous!

If you can keep it all in then give it a try, however i cant fib to my DH, he sees right through me!

bluestarlavender · 24/07/2008 15:18

Obviously I'm over-excited, what I meant to say was either:

when you tell him the news, or when he hears the news! Sorry....

saz007 · 24/07/2008 15:17

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!!!
Could you pretend to be that shocked??????

bluestarlavender · 24/07/2008 15:16

Congratulations Kalikaroo!!! Awesome news!!

I think you should come clean to DH!! He'll get over it when you hears the news! Plus how on earth will you be able to wait to tell him!!

You're number 2 on the thread!!

BSL x

Kalikaroo · 24/07/2008 15:13

Ok - God! I'm shaking!!! So I did another test and I think I got a BFP!!!!!
Aaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I bought a 3-pack of those clearblue digital ones and dropped the first testing stick part down the loo. Just did another one and it says f**cking positive!! (Sorry for the swearing!)

My DH made me promise that I wouldn't test til the weekend so he could be there, but I couldn't wait - is it ok for me to do another test on saturday and pretend to be shocked??? He'll hit the roof if he knows I did it without him!! (If it's actually a positive and not a dodgy stick)...

saz007 · 24/07/2008 14:32

ROFL ...sorry I know its not funny

Good luck with the test Kalikaroo.
