Hi All,

This is a difficult time for most women (and men) I think.

Certainly for me, I've waited a long time to get to this stage , having not met Mr Right until the age of 31. Now 34 and got married 2 months ago and now want to complete the family!

So, just started "trying" for a baby and due to my impatient nature, have already started using Ovulation Kits. (Probably not a good idea). I also did the Female Fertility Test and that seemed to have a good result aswell.

I was on Dianette for 8 years and came off of it 3 years ago. My cycles became regular again but every 5 weeks instead of 4. I had previously come off of the pill for 6 months and my cycles were regular, so I guess all this is a good sign.

Anyone else had similar experiences and fallen pregnant quickly? I know everyone's different but any good news stories help move us all along!! .

xx

Mmm Celebrations, yum I never ever eat chocolate here, its awful like that really shite american chocolate. Instead I pig out on donuts and Hagen Daaz mmmm. And when I go back to England its Fish and Chips, but only when I go up to my parents (we live down south in England now, and Fish and Chips down south are shite!!)

BSL The film was actually really good, a lovely chick flick, perfect to sit with a curry and a G&T on my own whie DP is out with his boss. I know what you mean about not BD'ing at the PIL's, when we go to UK we have to stay with them and to be honest they probably wouldn't hear a thing if I stopped shushing DP

Eth you have now put me to shame!! Gym in the morning!! WOW I could never go in the morning!!! And never seen ionto the wild is it any good, I thought it was a Disney Pixar film but if its scary then surely not!

saz007 · 28/07/2008 16:40

BSL I'm more of a crips than chocolate girl, but I can never say no to a Malteser (or 2!). The ones in Celebrations are the best!!

saz007 · 28/07/2008 16:35

BSL I love Dusk til Dawn - and not just for Mr Clooney altho it helps!!

Thinking about going to see the Batman film with DH on Wednesday and go out for dinner, make a night of it.

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 16:32

Hehe!! I purposely don't have chocolate in the house...so I have to stay good.

To be honest, I'm not a big chocolate fan and don't really have a sweet tooth (I'm more of a carbs addict)...but when I can't have something, that's when I want it!!

But I do like celebrations!! yum yum!!

eth37 · 28/07/2008 16:22

Now BSL and Saz, you are just making me feel guilty!!! We had a box of Celebrations from the last day of term (have been trying to hint to my class all year to get me WINE and not CHOCOLATE!!!) and I just couldn't resist . I did go to the gym this morning, if that compensates?
Go on girls.... EAT THE CHOCOLATE!!! X

saz007 · 28/07/2008 16:20

BSL I'll join you in being of Eth - I've just had some grapes but what I wouldnt give for some chocs!!

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 16:18

We only started BDing again last night...CD6, so that should be okay!!

Summerbird - I don't blame you not wanting to BD at MIL's. I always get worried about too much noise!

Eth - what's In To the Wild about?

On Friday night, DH and I watched From Dusk til Dawn (again) and i got all spooked and made him escort me to the bathroom every time I needed to go!! How sad am I??

BSL x

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 16:15

Eth - oh, am jealous of you eating too much chocolate!! I'm trying to be really good and eat properly at the moment! I hate dieting, it's horrid! MMmmmmm, chocolate!

summerbird · 28/07/2008 16:14

BSL we have been rubbish on the BDing, have spent the weekend at my MIL's so you all have to let me off!!

I watched War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise last night and got really freaked out! I had to watch Family Guy on Sony+ just to calm me down!

Dawn hope you have had a relaxing day, i recommend a nice bubble bath tonight (if you can face it in this heat!!)

bluestarlavender · 28/07/2008 16:10

Hi guys,

How is everyone?? I'm also very bored!! but have had so much to do it's not funny!! But it's really dull stuff!

Dawn - I hope you're being good and getting some R&R!!

Bonifacio - oooh, the movie sounds great!! Is it good?? I was thinking about renting it...

Summerbird - aaaahhhh!! Had to do it ! Sounds like a lovely first anniversary trip!

Crunchy - hi! how's things?? I think this is one of the busiest threads!! Particularly in the day time. I struggle to keep up alot of the time!!

Eth, Saz and Bonifacio - I agree that slings look fab!! My sis bought two to use with her DC. Unfortunately DC did not like being in either sling! I guess each child is different, but they weren't as hard to put on as they look...

Flirty - fingers crossed for your birthday, but I also like the plan to surprise DH though! How's the Bding going??

BSL x

eth37 · 28/07/2008 16:08

Sounds good, Bonifacio! We watched a film last night that really freaked my out - Into the wild? Anyone seen it? I also didn't realise it was based on a true story which made it even worse! Literally had nightmares all night about it!
Mmmmm curry.....
Just about to go and meet a friend from work and go to hers for dinner. Eaten too much choc today though... Am too naughty when I am not at work!!

Bonifacio · 28/07/2008 15:45

I just had a lovely curry and watched a great film. Maid of Honour. With Patrick Dempsey mmmmm now he is gorgeous!!

summerbird · 28/07/2008 15:14

saz and kalikaroo i am with you - totally with you, i am so bored (and roasting!) at work and spending too much time on mumsnet zzzzzz

Kalikaroo · 28/07/2008 15:07

Know what you mean Saz - It's past 5pm here and I'm still sat staring at my computer (and trying not to spend too long on mumsnet!)

Want to go home!!!!!

saz007 · 28/07/2008 14:56

bored bored bored - work sucks

summerbird · 28/07/2008 13:46

oops sorry saz it is eth going away and not you..! now i am really rubbing it in!!!!!!

summerbird · 28/07/2008 13:43

I am just cutting down on alcohol at the moment rather than completely cutting it out, so saz if i were you i would just throw caution to the wind this weekend and enjoy yourself - it sounds fabulous by the way!!

flirty that is a fab idea, i know my DH would love it if i did that, tho his birthday isnt until March and i hope it wont be that long!

i am soooo bored today!

saz007 · 28/07/2008 13:38

Thanks guys, I'm not getting hopes up at all. If I start looking out for any symptoms, I'll just imagine I've got them all LOL Guess I'll just have to play the waiting game for the next two weeks...boo!

Summerbird and Eth your trips sound lovely. Not at all

Flirty what a fab idea!!

Bonifacio · 28/07/2008 13:05

Saz I agree with eth the dull ache at the bottom of your back could be a symptom!! It does actually sound quite good when I list all the active things I do..But if you saw me before I had to do them you would not say I was putting you to shame!! I literally have to drag myslef to do these things!! But I so want to be healthy!!!

Summerbird that sounds like a lovely trip! Me and DP need to go somewhere soon as my mum is visiting and will drive him mad

Etc I'm having the same problem with flying, I always take diazipam and drink alcohol whenever I fly but I highly doubt that I will be able to do that when pregnant and I have just booked the flights back to the UK for xmas! I hav't flown drug free in years especially not long haul!!

Oooh Crunchy what decorating are you doing!!?!?

Flirty think that is a brilliant idea to get him a present from the baby as a way to tell him. I would love to tell DP in a really fun imaginative way but I knwo I will just end up blurting it out in a really random way!!

saz007 · 28/07/2008 13:01

Eth I'd love that to be true , but I don't think it can be as according to FF I only OV'd on Saturday.

FlirtyThirty · 28/07/2008 12:40

Hi ladies!

If I get lucky this month and AF doesn't show up for her next visit, then I'll be testing on my birthday! (CD27...and I'm usually 25/26 day cycle.)

If she does show up, then my next chance to test would be a week before DH's birthday. I'm thinking if that were the case I wouldn't tell him, but will buy him a present from 'baby'...

Flirty x

crunchynutter · 28/07/2008 12:37

Hi everybody- Have been very busy visiting people and doing a bit of decorating in main bedroom- i have missed so much!

Dawn I am really praying everything is ok for you- i have read that periods can continue as normal in early pregnancy so try to stay optimistic. I hope you find out for sure soon- good luck and you know we are all here with anything we can do to help xx

eth37 · 28/07/2008 12:36

No I couldn't wait 8 days either!! I am deliberating what to do as AF due on 6th August (next Wednesday) and am surprising DH on Fri for his birthday by taking him on surprise long weekend. Am meeting him from work on Fri with mini champagne and we are going straight to Gatwick (actually is going to be very tight - am hoping we don't miss the plane!!), BUT I am a terribly nervous flyer and never manage to get on a plane without half a bottle of wine!! Also want to drink over the weekend. Am thinking I should prob be OK, esp think I ovulated late this month anyway, and didn't actually get round to it the day before or during OV, plus is I ov-ed late, I would implant later? IYSWIM? Any thoughts anyone? Still getting to grips with the whole thing myself...

Dawn, how are you feeling?

saz - it's not implantation pain, is it? That's v low down, apparently... (not that i'd know!)

summerbird · 28/07/2008 12:30

Bonifaco there is no way i could wait 8 days!!

My AF is due next Monday, I really dont think I am PG this month, I dont feel any different, had no implantation bleed, am fine on alcohol, a bit tired at the mo but that is just due to the heat.

It wouldnt be too much of a bad thing if AF comes tho as it is our first wedding anniversary on 18 Aug (altogether now - aaaaaaahhhhhh!!) and we have a vintage bottle of Moet to take to a fabulous country hotel in Bath, that is what i am consoling myself with anyway!!

saz007 · 28/07/2008 12:12

Thanks Bonifacio It's just a dull ache at the bottom of my back, I've taken a paracetamol so I'm hoping it will go soon. You're putting us to shame with your sporty ways!!!

I agree that slings look good, but I'd be too terrified to use one in case it fell off or the baby fell out! That's probably just me tho as I'm so clumsy!
