TTC at 39 but might be in peri…

Hi all,

I’ll try to keep this fairly short. Been TTC baby number 3 for about 5 cycles now. So far I’ve tracked my BBT and LH at home, so have a fair idea of when I’m ovulating, if indeed I am. I’ve noticed over the last few cycles that I’ve been spotting for about 6-7 days before my period is due. The first time, I managed to fool myself into thinking it might be implantation bleeding. It wasn’t but I’ve continued to experience the same over the last few cycles. So sorry to give TMI but this is more so when I go to the toilet (for a number 2), where I find the act of going and the strain leads to more blood when I wipe. It’s 100% vaginal blood and not from piles or anything.
Has anyone else experienced anything similar? Could this be the start of peri? I wonder this because my sister is in confirmed peri at 42 and my mum started peri at 36. So wouldn’t be early in that context. If I’m bleeding - albeit lightly- almost a week before I’m due, does that mean implantation would be less likely to happen?
I was due to have some tests done at the doctors (ovulation test etc) but due to the bleeding I experienced, I managed to muck up my dates and had to cancel the tests because it was totally the wrong time of the cycle.
Any help appreciated; I’m feeling quite down about it and am beginning to worry that this might never happen for me

I was 4 years into peri when I had my first and only child at 42. Used ovulation test things that had a smiley face as I was bleeding on loads of random days.
