Slightly too early to test - has anyone had these symptoms and found out they're pregnant

I've been having weird symptoms - weird in the fact I never normally have these before my period, so wondered if anyone else had the same and was pregnant

For a few days now, I've been extremely hungry (eating everything) and also extremely thirsty,

Tonight I've felt dizzy and very nauseous since this morning

My smell is heightened like crazyyy, everything is making me heave...

So mamas, if you've experienced any of these and are / we're pregnant please let me know x

yes I had similar. Dont test until after your period was due! I never got a positive til then.

Isitmyluckyday · 01/11/2026 06:32

Could be but could possibly be a bug causing the symptoms. 🤞that is works out the way you want.

I’ve never had a positive test before my period is due and I bought the first response and easy at home ones ie most sensitive ones, used FMU, etc. I assume some of us just start producing hcg more slowly. I also never had symptoms before period due - all the months I had “symptoms” I was negative. Then the positive tests just came as a surprise. Annoying as someone who was obsessively testing and symptom spotting!

Thankyou for this, when I got pregnant the first time, I just did a digital on the day of my missed period so maybe you're right.

So I woke up so decided to do the other clear blue test in the pack - there was an extremely faint line, so faint, I had to squint to see it. Now im not sure what to think as i read clearblue are notorious for this.

I am going out of my mind, I turn 41 soon and me and my partner have been trying to conceive for almost a year to no avail. Initially I got positives with the blue line clear blue and even a digital one said 1-2 weeks, sadly my lines kept fading which resulted in what I now know as a chemical pregnancy. This month I have purchased the pink line advanced ultra early since I find the blue ones give false positives, and after reading forums several people agree. I am due on in a couple days, I ovulated late evening on the 18th of October, I know this since I did a test in the morning which was flashing rather than static smile. With my calculations I could have quite possibly ovulated on the 20th meaning I’m 11 dpo which according to ai could still be in for a chance. I had light spotting a few days ago but think I also had a tiny amount today, I am obviously thinking it’s my period. It’s just so frustrating, we have been waiting for our fertility clinic appointment for months and I can’t stop panicking about the fact I’m getting older. My whole family have all conceived normal and there is no early menopause. I had bloods which were good. I just want to know why it’s not happening. I’m a fit healthy individual my partner is 35 and his sample came back he had seriously high motility but below average morphology, apparently the high motility counteracts this? Anyway I guess they will explain at our appointment which is over a month away. In the meantime I have this deep agonising pain and I’m finding I don’t care about anything else anymore, I just want a baby but it’s not happening for me, I can’t express how painful it is each month, religiously testing and several months seeing lines to come to nothing. How are we supposed to deal with this alone? My partner unfortunately does not talk about these things much or he tries to brush it off, maybe he can’t deal either but don’t know so I do feel quite alone. Sorry just needed to let it out to people who might understand

While technically you’re not out yet I’d assume it’s unlikely at this point and the “symptoms” are not caused by pregnancy.

Yeah, I agree with you

Update - its 3 days before my period and I've just done a clear blue digital and it was negative

If the symptoms are caused by pregnancy, you’re far enough along that one of the early tests will show a faint line. I think the earliest I got a positive was six days before my period was due.

Thankyou - I did test 2 & 3 days ago and both were negative x

I think the biggest sign I had was just knowing I was pregnant it was different from the times before when I suspected it I just knew!

It's so hard isn't it because everything is so different for everyone. My symptoms with my son were completely different to these so I'm so uncertain x

Thankyou all, I'm due on in 3 days so will order a test.

When are you due on your period? If it’s too early to test (like you’re not due on for over a week) it will be far too early to have symptoms as well. If you’re due on in the next few days it will likely show on a test.

MaryNour · 30/10/2026 04:38

Yes to all the above.

I was also extremely lethargic. I had to walk up and over a steep hill to get to the train station to go to work. Overnight I went from being able to do the walk quite comfortably to feeling like I was dragging legs made of lead over the hill.

Also my boobs tripled on size

i think my period wasn’t due for a few days when I tested. I later discovered I expecting twins! I still haven’t recovered from the shock over 20 years later!

PaulBaker · 30/10/2026 03:47

Yes and yes.
