Hi! Thought I’d start a thread for those of us in the unfortunate situation of struggling with TTC and perhaps starting investigations.

I’ve been TTC DC3 for 11 months now. I have PCOS, so my typical cycle is 39 days with the odd 80 day one thrown in. Just started investigations at the GP who have sent off a fertility referral. Supposed to be getting my Day21 blood done this month but seem to be having a long cycle/ an anovulatory cycle as currently day 35 and no sign of a peak on my LH tests.

Anyone else also struggling TTC and want to support each other?

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy Yes AF arrived today as expected.
thats promising about your peak! Do you track temp as well or only the strips? I’ve never done temp and even struggle with the LH strips. I used the OPK with the smiley face last cycle - so easy to understand but so expensive!

Sorry about AF. Hope you have lots of nice distractions over the weekend!

I only do easy@home strips and the Premom app. I’d like to do BBT but currently up too much with my 2 year old at night for it to be accurate, so think it would just cause more stress.

The strips do seem fairly accurate for me, I always ovulate 14 days after a peak. But sometimes I have failed to ovulate so then peak again a month later with no period in between! Which I think the BBT would help with as I would see no temp rise so know that ovulation didn’t happen.

@GreenApple121 Sorry to hear AF arrived, I know what you mean about the disappointment. I felt really down from CD1 to end of period this cycle, and only started to feel hopeful again when oestrogen started to rise… do you think it’s psychological knowing you can dtd again to influence your chances or just hormones?

Firsttimerugbymum · 31/10/2026 06:33

Started to peak last night - standard that it's the night I went out and got back too late to do anything!

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 31/10/2026 11:35

@Firsttimerugbymum Argh, that is frustrating! Have you being dtd in the build up? Even if you only do today you have a good chance!

My Lh is down to 0.35 today so fairly sure I’ve ovulated and am now 2 dpo. Feeling fairly relaxed about this month as I’ve got a holiday booked for early August next year which would be incredibly inconvenient with a newborn! Was 50/50 on whether we should even be trying but after trying for so long thought that maybe a bit of karma would make it happen this time 😂

We did on Thursday, and then this morning. Tbh we are trying to be more targeted as to avoid burnout - some months we basically done every day and no success so trying to tone it down a bit

Wishing you a speedy two week wait with a BFP at the end!

Springcloud26 · 31/10/2026 12:11

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy I’ve been doing the same, booking a few things that would be inconvenient if I fell, in the hope that fate will get me! (And then I still have nice things to look forward to if I don’t 😂)

@Firsttimerugbymum That sounds like you have it covered! Fair enough about being more targeted. The “every other day” thing does get a bit exhausting when you have been doing it for so long!

@Springcloud26 Hope this method works for both of us 😂 the holiday would be very very hard to cancel (other family members involved) so I’m hoping I’ve cursed myself with positive test this month! What nice things do you have planned?

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy I have spa day with friends this month, and also holiday next year!

GreenApple121 · 01/11/2026 17:42

Hi ladies!
so good to have things booked in the future I think! We are also talking about booking a skiing holiday (which never done before!) so also thinking of just going for it!
feeling ok about AF - feels like there were lots of distractions with half term and Halloween so feeling ok!
my husband and I previously talked about maybe giving TTC a few more months before calling it a day potentially… Just thinking of whether to throw everything at it over the next couple months? Have you guys tried anything like TTC friendly lubricants? Are your partners taking any specific supplements?

Chrimbobo · 01/11/2026 18:31

I've found my people!

TTC for 12 months now and beginning to lose the hope I had at the start.

DD took 15 months to conceive though, so I suppose I should have been prepared.

I've been talking the Ovum supplements from Ocado but they give me awful heartburn.

We did use the Pre-seed lubricant last time we TTC, but not the time it worked, so haven't bothered this time.

I'm a terrible POASer, but will try and hold until 9dpo out this cycle .... few more days to go.

@Springcloud26 Sounds really nice! It is good to have things to look forward too 😊

@GreenApple121 Book the skiing holiday! I’ve never been either but they always sound great fun.
I’ve never tried any lubricants and my DH doesn’t take any supplements. Mostly because he has a horrible memory for pills and would probably forget! But also, I’m myo-inositol which is expensive and so I feel I’m using up the “supplement allowance” 😂 which feels ridiculous now that I’ve written it down so maybe I should just buy him one and stick it next to the toothbrush so it becomes a habit…

Hello! Sorry you are in this position too but also, happy to have you here!

Did you have an investigations last time around? 15 months and now 12 months plus, you are definitely going through the TTC wringer!

I was a POAS addict but last cycle managed to hold out until 12 dpo! Hoping for the same this time, though not that hopeful I’ll manage it 😬 where are you up to in your cycle?

Chrimbobo · 01/11/2026 19:27

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemyYes, all the standard bloods/ semen analysis for hubby / hycosy for me. No issues found and I seem to ovulate. Just subfertilty I think.

I'm cycle day 7 now, and this is about the time I start symptom spotting and getting ants in my pants !

My partner isn’t taking anything specific but he takes a multivitamin, eats quite a lot of fruit, doesn’t drink caffeine or much alcohol, which I’m hoping will help. If we get the fertility referral through, we’ll also get the SA. Not tried the lubricant, if not successful this month I may give that a go next cycle, can’t hurt?

9 DPO today and I’ve been getting watery discharge yesterday, and this morning on waking. No other symptoms.

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 02/11/2026 15:17

Ah, @Chrimbobo , sounds like you are a day behind @Springcloud26 ! Always nice to have a cycle buddy. I’m a few days behind, 4 dpo today.

I suppose you must have mixed feelings about your test results @Chrimbobo ! Good that there is nothing major wrong but annoying that it’s not an easy fix.

@Springcloud26 Have you got the blood results back from Fridays test? Hope this is your month! I can never tell when I’m pregnant, honestly, when I turned up at my 12 week scan with my first I was so nervous there wasn’t going to be anything their as I felt exactly the same as normal!

I’ve received a letter saying the fertility clinic has accepted my referral and I’m on a waiting list. No mention of how long the waiting list is though! But that’s something as my GP didn’t seem confident I would even be accepted as hadn’t been trying for a year! I pointed out that with PCOS I only need to try for 6 months (and I’d been trying for 10!) 🤦‍♀️

Chrimbobo · 02/11/2026 15:20

Oh my gosh @HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy that is some quantity of time!!! When I did my initial tests, the NHS could fit us in quickly, but there was a big wait for the Hycosy and ultrasound. I did these privately and it was actually not too bad at all- a few hundred quid and I waited less than a week . I am such an impatient person!

Springcloud26 · 02/11/2026 15:59

@HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy I’ve just got them back, progesterone only 13 so I am feeling quite anxious as thought recommendation was 30+… I keep telling myself that I had it done at 6 DPO rather than 7, and the test could have just caught the bottom end of a pulse? If I do get a positive test I will phone gp and ask for another one in case I need progesterone support.

That’s great that your referral has been accepted! How long did it take for them to send you the letter?

@Chrimbobo how are you getting on in TWW, any symptoms?

Chrimbobo · 02/11/2026 16:13

@Springcloud26 Haha, don't encourage me with the symptom spotting!

I genuinely had the most intense pulling/scratching yesterday and I told my husband that it was implantation.

However, I've had it before a few times and had a BFN, so I know it is all a waiting game.

No symptoms today but have been busy at work.

I understand your worry about your blood results, but it may well be that the timing was off. I did my tests with Superdrug or Boots or similar (can't remember exactly). They posted a kit and then I just did the fingerprint test over the weekend. It was really easy and I got results in the portal quickly

Firsttimerugbymum · 02/11/2026 19:33

@Chrimbobo - where did you get your hycosy? At a fertility clinic? Can you just ask for one and debating whether to go ahead

Has anyone used a fertilily?

1dpo currently and as you can see I'm super optimistic as already looking at the next cycle!

GreenApple121 · 02/11/2026 20:07

Hi ladies!
sounds like you’re all in your TWW?! Keeping fingers crossed for you all!
I’m lagging behind just coming towards the end of my period.
@Springcloud26 sorry to hear about your progesterone - I guess it’s something that can vary month to month? Did you have positive ovulation tests this month? Could
it have been anovulatory cycle perhaps?

@Firsttimerugbymum what is a fertility?

Apparently it's a cup that's meant to hold everything in for a bit long after DTD - not tried it to know if it's effective

Springcloud26 · 02/11/2026 22:08

Thank you @Chrimbobo, yep I’m hoping I just got the timing wrong. That’s useful to know about the boots tests, I may try next cycle.

@GreenApple121 I had positive Lh tests so hope I have ovulated, although I’ve lost a bit of optimism for this cycle now. Period due Saturday so not long to find out!

Chrimbobo · 02/11/2026 22:12

@Firsttimerugbymum I saw a private fertility doctor (just booked an appointment online with the one closes to me) and they referred me, within a hospital. It was honestly so smooth and way less costly than expecting. I was really impressed at the initial consult as he just whipped out an ultrasound and did a scan then and there, and was chatting to me about what he saw.

I tried the Fertilily a few times! It never worked and it got stuck a few times and I panicked when I couldn't get it out. I also found it really uncomfortable when trying to remove it. Appreciate they've got lots of good reviews though, so maybe it just wasn't a good match for me

I feel like I've tried all of the things 😂

Chrimbobo · Yesterday 10:07

Well... BFN at 9dpo :( Not even a hint of a line.

I appreciate it's early but it's all just so familiar. I get my hopes up every month, it is so silly !

Wishing you ladied better luck than me. Hopefully we can get some BFP pics on this thread soon 🙏

Can see why you would be anxious about the 13. I think I’ve read 30+ too, to confirm ovulation. Have they booked you in for doctors appointment to discuss the results?

It was just under a month to get the letter from the fertility clinic 😂 I guess that means they are snowed under and it’s a long wait!
