Tips for conception in your 40’s

Hey all! I’m wondering if anyone has any tips for increasing your fertility in your 40’s. For reference I am 41, I have one almost 6 year old and have been trying for a second for 4 years (with one mmc and that’s it) I have had a serious life overhaul the last couple of months. I quit my old stressful job, I’ve quit drinking almost completely, eating almost all whole foods and taking daily coQ10. Is there anything else I can be doing? My daughter is so desperate for a sibling and I feel like such a failure that I haven’t been able to give her one 😩 help a girl out ❤️

Sorry to hear you’ve been struggling. Sounds like you’ve done what you can to maximise your chances of success. Have you had any investigations or fertility tests at all? Don’t forget, it’s not all on you, what has your partner done to help?

Have you seen your physician, asked for a gyne referral.
Do you track ovulation?
By 41 I knew my hormone levels were shifting (albeit slowly).

I have been tested up the ying yang 😅 my bloods are always coming back with hormones within normal perimeters, I’ve had external and internal
scans and a HSG. I’ve done 2 rounds of Clomid to no avail also. My partner is relatively healthy with his SA coming back as healthy too. It took 3 years to fall with my daughter and thankfully it was a perfect pregnancy but I don’t seem to be able to fall pregnant anymore. I’m holding onto hope that the health kick will help as I used to like wine a little too much and worked extreme shifts. 🤞🏽 I didn’t know if there was anything else either of us could be doing to maximise our chances. Thank you for both of your replies! X

I would take Ubiquinol rather than COQ10 between 400-600 a day. Double your Methylfolate dose. Clean eating, no alcohol, lots of bone broth if you are not veggie or vegan. I would also recommend the book “It starts with an egg” real eye opener and I’m sure it helped get me pregnant at 40. Good Luck!

I was going to say what BabyBorn said - that book is great. Ubiquinol, methylfolate, NAC, vit D, a good conception vitamin, and vitamins for your partner. I eat well, but personally for me I don’t restrict wine or coffee - life is too short! Accupuncture was great for me after a miscarriage and I’ve heard a lot of success stories.

Forgot to add I had acupuncture too and feel like a combination of everything gave me a better chance.

Hey no tips but similar here- I’m 41 and ttc 3 years now
tried everything too but still hopeful it will happen, just taking that much longer being a bit older
although my first took 2.5 years in my 20s so I’m not the most fertile of people I don’t think
i tried acupuncture
5 months of clomid
baby aspirin
Ubiquinol

My partner and I had 3 chemicals before I fell pregnant last year both aged 40. Wasn’t until he stopped cooking his sperm with scalding baths and having his laptop on his lap that one stuck, and I don’t think it was a coincidence.
