Short 2 day bleed 5days before AF. Implantation or wishful thinking?

We've been TTC for #2 for 2.5yrs.

We decided to step away from the medicated cycles due to the impact of the high dose of hormones on my mental health.

I have a 25 day cycle - and I did not track ovulation this month, so not sure when I ovulated. But we DTD often enough.

Last proper AF was 30 August - 3 September (normal 5 days)
AF was expected on 24 September (CD25) BUT I had a bleed on 19 Sep (enough to fill a small tampon, bit of red but mostly brown) & 20 Sep (tapered off half way through the day). There's still some discoloration when I wipe (21 Sep) but only brown, and barely there.

So, small bleed for 1.5 days 5 days before AF is due. Is this implantation or just a wonky month? I find it difficult to believe that it could've been my AF - much shorter and at 20CD. Anyone had this and got a BFP?

This is exactly what happened to me. I counted myself out because of a bleed, was indeed implantation. After 6 years of trying. Best of luck OP. I hope this is your month 🤞

Thank you so much for your response, giving me a sliver of hope! But as you know, when you've been trying for a long time - you kind of learn that all the things you think are things usually turns out to be more or less nothing in the end. So, definitely not getting excited but holding out a tiny bit of hope!

Still 2 days out before AF, slight brown spotting but BFN with afternoon urine on an ultra early test. Holding hope is becoming increasingly difficult - and it hurts! So many people around me are having their second or are announcing pregnancies - including a mom at 45 with her 4th baby. Praying and trusting that our miracle will happen sooner rather than later but until then the silent tears will continue to flow from a heart ache that only those who have walked this journey will truly understand.
