Confusion with clear blue ovulation test

Hiya, it’s my first time TTC and I am on cycle day 10. I have used strip ovulation tests the last few days, first test faint, yesterdays slightly darker and today back to very faint. I got the clear blue purple ovulation test and used it today for the first time and it went straight to a static smiley indicating my peak, so I am confused! Is this reliable that I have hit my peak now or is it faulty? I am going to treat it like it is my peak but just doesn’t feel right to me. Once it resets in 48 hours should I start testing with it again?

Personally I wouldn’t trust it as your peak BUT just in case I’d have some sex anyway. Personally I found the fancy ovulation kits worse than the standard cheap strips. CD10 would be fairly early to ovulate but not unheard of. I’d start having sex but keep using the cheap strips. Lines can go up and down throughout the cycle before getting a positive. Do you test once or twice a day? I have sudden peaks so what can be very negative in the morning suddenly becomes a blazing positive in the evening.

It's really not necessary to do these. Costs you money and is already causing you stress. Just relax and have lots of sex.
What worked for us was to start having sex every 36 hours from the moment my period finished then keep going all the way through until well after expected ovulation ie until last few days or so of cycle. Worked twice like this first time, whereas we hadn't caught when we tried to time it from dates.
