Anyone TTC after a recent early loss and wanting support? (Aug 26)

Hi, I thought I’d start a separate thread for anyone who is TTC after a recent early loss, so we can support each other through what can be a really difficult time. 💕

I’m 39 and TTC for my first. I conceived after around four cycles, but sadly had a missed miscarriage mid-July at around 9 weeks, (development had stopped at 6).

I stopped bleeding last Sunday and have started noticing some cervical mucus returning over the past few days, so I’m hoping my body is beginning to get back into its normal rhythm.

I’m still testing positive on pregnancy tests, so can’t use LH strips to track ovulation yet, so for now, my plan is to get back to some exercise, eating well and have sex every 2-3 days. I’m feeling positive and hopeful but also trying to take my mind off the waiting!

If anyone else is going through something similar and would like to share the journey and support each other x

@Posypear they are checking things like thyroid, folate, vit d, iron and progesterone. They did say the specific ovulation fertility ones will need to wait until the referral. I think just seeing if there’s anything they can catch earlier that we can fix.

Thanks girls - I have honestly LOST it this month!?!
@fluffycauliflowers yes hate it when people say that- clearly you can see I'm not relaxed- ha ha. Also literally everyone asks me if we'd like another baby at any opportunity - so frustrating!
@Springcloud26 glad to hear your appointment went well. Do you know what tests they are running on your bloods?

Springcloud26 · Yesterday 17:44

@fluffycauliflowers sounds like you are covering well! Yes, also it will happen if you relax? How do you relax about it?! 😂

@Posypear I think you’re still in! I can understand feeling so upset at seeing the negative though.

We had our gp appointment this evening and have been referred, which can take 3 months to come through. They will take bloods locally end of this month though when I’ll be day 25 to check what they can, including hoping to catch the progesterone surge. Feel better that we have this in progress if nothing happens over the next few months!

We dtd 6th, 7th, 10th and will tonight. Life gets in the way sometimes 🥱🥱

fluffycauliflowers · Yesterday 17:30

Definitely give it more time but perhaps this is a soft launch to prepare you for either answer, positive or negative. It’s all so mentally draining isn’t it.

anyone else sick of people suggesting it’s not happening because we want it too much? 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Okay now realising this digital wasn't actually an early detection one and I've always tested at 11 or 12dpo so maybe I've been slightly dramatic- ha ha! Think the odds are low but I'm not completely out from my frantic Google searches. Ugh TTC is such a mind fuck !

You need to give it more time! I think it's less than half of pregnancies that are detected at this stage, isn't it? Plus your dates could be slightly wrong or you might have had a bit too much water before testing. Try to hold off until Friday then test again.

@fluffycauliflowers sorry that must be frustrating! Are you still dtd to try to cover bases? Just did a digital test at 9dpo which was negative so assume I'm out. I'm completely devastated as I was sure I was pregnant and I actually burst into tears which isn't like me! Irrationality more upset than after I had my chemicals ! I guess the late ovulation probably meant our timing was a bit off too.

Hey @fluffycauliflowers I’m sorry you have the uncertainty around ovulation, are your LH strips still low? Could you maybe have tried to ovulate on 6th and your body will try again soon? Hope you get some answers soon!

Yes still low - I keep testing. Hopefully I’ll ovulate again as I don’t want to miss a whole month of trying 😔
How is everyone else doing?

@fluffycauliflowers I ovulated 1 day late and 2 days late after my second but have ovulated 5 ( July and August) days late this cycle so it definitely could still happen. Any other ovulation symptoms?

Thank you, I appreciate the insight.
i don’t think I’ve had symptoms really so makes me less sure that I would have missed it.
Only thing is, the darkest LH strip I’ve had by some way (but still def negative) was on 6th, and I also noticed CM that day was ovulation-y. However that would have been only 12 days after the first day of bleeding from the chemical period. So in fact, early.
but no EWCM since and not had a dark lh strip either…
I don’t think I’ve ever ovulated early before since tracking!

Hey all. I had a chemical end of last month and was hoping to get straight back on the horse (sorry, husband) but am wondering if I’m even going to ovulate this month. Algorithm suggested 8th but it’s now 12th and no surge yet…
I haven’t had a period or anything since, but my last period was the chemical so I figured normal ish timing can be expected?
Could it be that I ovulate late? Or not at all?
I’m hoping not the latter because I’m impatient as it is!

Springcloud26 · 12/10/2026 17:40

@ElinorDashw00d I’m sorry you are also feeling like this, it is really rubbish. I hope you manage to enjoy your week off, including with a wine!

I was hopeful that after tracking properly and having a positive, I could do it again but realistically I know even with perfect timing it only has so much chance of being successful.

I will continue tracking ovulation but going to dtd a lot more throughout the month and not worry too much about being perfect with the timing.

@Posypear it’s always harder when ovulation is delayed and you add another week to the waiting! Fingers crossed for Friday! 😊

@Springcloud26 sorry to hear you've been feeling down about it. I'm sure having a few glasses of wine and relaxing is probably a good thing - don't they always say to try to relax when TTC ? (Ha ha -obviously impossible!?!).

I'm okay - still symptom spotting like mad. Still have an elevated temperature, cramping and sore boobs but I always think I'm pregnant! Also I'm anywhere between 7dpo and 12dpo as my ovulation was delayed so the app can't pin point it like usual ( so more like 7 dpo I think?!). I have a big work thing on Thursday so going to try to hold out testing until Friday as don't want the stress of that as well. It's annoying it looks like ovulation has been delayed so it's now almost a 3 week 2ww!!

ElinorDashw00d · 11/10/2026 20:07

Think it’s about to be CD1 for me too. About to start a week’s holiday and just feel so down about it.
Might join you in the wine. Trying to stay positive that it will happen.

Springcloud26 · 11/10/2026 17:49

Thank you everyone, it’s hit me harder than I thought it would and needed a bit of time away from the threads, and a focus on work rather than thinking of TTC all the time! I even had a couple of glasses of wine over the weekend, so my streak is over 😂.

How is everyone doing?

@Springcloud26 sorry to hear that. It's hard when you feel you've done all you can. Fingers crossed this is the cycle for you !

ElinorDashw00d · 08/10/2026 10:35

I’m sorry @Springcloud26 its so disappointing each month 😪

Witchfoot · 08/10/2026 08:51

Hugs @Springcloud26 💐

It's so hard not to feel disheartened each BFN.

Springcloud26 · 07/10/2026 17:35

@Posypear fingers crossed you hit the peak days!

How is everyone doing?

CD1 for me today, I’m feeling a bit disheartened, especially with all the mental energy I put into this cycle, so I will try and relax a bit more for the next one (easier said than done!)

@fluffycauliflowers thank you. I think I'm delusional as I'm potentially only 2dpo ha ha !
How are you doing?

Very strange. Finally getting a temperature peak and my app is saying I ovulated anytime betweens day 14 and 19. Bit worried I've missed the peak really but I did dtd on day 16 and 18 just in case but had a break between 14 and 15 which might have been the peak days! How frustrating! However I'm convinced I'm pregnant this month now - as I'm boiling, cramping and waking up extra early. Fingers crossed I'm right!!

Everything crossed for you!

I'm also the same as @tabbycatslave. TTC is hard enough without something to look forward to !
