Conceiving at 40, looking for positive success stories and experiences

I have 2 DC 1st concieved age 33 1st cycle TTC and my 2nd DC 3rd cycle TTC age 37.

Have now been TTC for 18months and have had 4 Biochemicals in the last 13months!
I am now 39 and hoping for a miracle. All blood work is normal (did hertility testing) and uterus etc all fine health is good etc. it is just my age has changed I was told my egg quality is lower naturally and 50% of pregnancies after 40 result in loss. Biochemicals increase with age. We are not looking into assisted conception. So we were told to just keep TTC and it may happen.

started trying for number 2 at 38 and conceived on 1st cycle but ended up a mc at 6 weeks
24 months of trying later I conceived again at 40, again another mc at 6 weeks
still trying and hoping

I conceived first cycle trying last year at 41. Sadly we had a mmc and we’re still trying now 8 cycles later, but it absolutely can happen and quickly! Enjoying the other stories of positivity as I’m getting a bit disheartened with our lack of luck since the miscarriage.

Conceived almost by fluke first time having unprotected sex at age 40, despite having pcos. Was using progesterone cream for pcos symptoms around the time I got pregnant so now think of it as a magic pregnancy balm

Had my first and only at 42. Naturally conceived. Met my now husband at 40. She’s Sixteen now. Sixteen years of happy parenting and the best period of my life.

I got pregnant naturally first month of trying at 40 - very sadly I lost the baby at 12 weeks, but then got pregnant naturally again at 41 (still not sure how as we only dtd once that month 7 days before I ovulated) and he is now the most gorgeous nine-month-old! Still not ruling out potentially trying for one more…

One of my work colleagues, conceived at 38, then had 2 unplanned pregnancies after that.
Another colleague had to have IVF in her 30s, and then conceived twice more after that naturally, just gave birth at 39.
My aunt had her first at 40, used ovulation strips and managed to conceive naturally
My friend's mum had her at 40.
Massive outlier but my mum's friend thought she was menopausal and went on a holiday, came back pregnant at 50!!

Currently kissing the head of my 'surprise' as he snuggles on my chest. He's 6 weeks and I'm 42.(DS1 is 13 and conceived via IUI) I had unexplained infertility, haven't used contraception for 18 years and had sex once in the month he was conceived. Go figure.

Had one at 40 then another at 45. No tracking, just happened 😝. They are 14 and 9 now and currently sleeping while I’m having a coffee in bed that dh brought me before he went to work. Good luck 🤞🏻

After 2 unsuccessful rounds of ivf and part way through the early adoption process, my friend conceived naturally at 45 - now a very healthy and happy 10 year old.

A colleague at work had a surprise, unplanned pregnancy at 44.

I had my second at 39, first month trying.

I’m 40, conceived naturally, my 8 week old is currently fast asleep on me 💤

I've known simply loads of women who have conceived at 40 or over, it just happened, they were not tracking or trying.

Conceived DC1 at 39 (was 40 at birth) and DC2 at 42, natural conceptions. DC1 took a year (we weren’t ‘trying’, but we weren’t using protection), DC2 took three months. Used Flo for tracking.

If you can manage it, I found getting a fertility MOT privately was very helpful.
