So I'm pretty much put this month, giving up all hope its happening this month. I know August is still a week away but thought I'd start a thread for the August TTCers.
How's everyone doing?

Hi everyone, popped over here from the other thread but this is our first proper TTC month. I think I ovulated yesterday but my period tracker app says it’s tomorrow. We’re also in the middle of building work so I’m hoping the stress of that doesn’t impact on it…

We’re TTC baby three. Let’s hope we all get lucky this month 🤞🏻.

SophieP89 · 28/07/2026 16:44

Hey ladies!
I'm currently cycle day 2 now, feeling positive for the month ahead. My last cycle was 29 days which is the shortest it has been in years as I ovulated day 17 whereas ovulation has been cycle day 23/24 in most previous cycles so hoping that's a positive sign. I have just lost some weight over the past couple of months so I think that has probably helped.
Hoping to see some positive tests as we go through August, sending lots of baby dust to everyone✨️

Hi all, jumping in for some emotional support as we enter cycle 2 of TTC #2.
We were really lucky to get pregnant on the first cycle with our first so though I knew it was highly unlikely I couldn't help how disappointed I felt this month. I'm so aware of how lucky we were and how normal it is to take up to a year but I just had to feel all my feelings about it - hubby doesn't quite get this I don't think.
On CD2 now and expecting to ovulate somewhere between CD17-23 so hoping that this next heatwave has passed by then.

Hi! Also, TTC number 3 here! Been trying for 8 months though. How old are your older ones? I’ve got a 4 year old and a 2 and a half year old. Getting nervous now that the gap is getting bigger and bigger how I’m going to cope.
Good luck with the building work. I’ve just had an extension put on my house so know how stressful it is!

Heyy!! I have a huge gap, my eldest is 7 and my youngest is 5. I have been so broody for the last four years but time wasn’t right financially as we knew we needed to move and then get this extension started so here we are. My eldest has been asking for another sibling for about three years 😅. I think your gap will be lovely, I’ve got friends with similar sized gaps as you’ll have and the older ones can get more involved with baby. Everyone thinks we’re done 😆.

Ooh how was the extension process for you? So far it’s been fine here (it’s a loft conversion but with a few extra bits thrown in) but the dust and noise is a lot. The kids absolutely love the builders though.

My app thinks I ovulate today but I am convinced it was a few days earlier and my cm has changed so I’m hoping we haven’t missed the boat this month… Why is TTC so fraught with anxiety?!

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 29/07/2026 11:55

@LionMama2 The gap thing i keep second guessing! Glad you have decided to go for it with a bigger gap, gives me hope im not going insane. Really want a baby but not looking forward to go back to nappies, food throwing etc 😂 I’ve loving toddler/ pre-school age so can’t wait to have this experience again!

The extension process was 😩. My builder kept vanishing to do other jobs, ordering supplies was slow, and the whole thing dragged on for much longer than it was supposed to. Lovely now it’s done though! We were just adding an extra room at the back of the house so not too bad in the dust department. The children loved it though 😂 so much sitting in the garden and watching!

Hmmm, I’d go by your symptoms rather than what your app is saying. Are you Lh or BBT testing? I know, TTC really does my head in!

inkgirl · 30/07/2026 13:05

Spotted a few comments about age gaps. If you were to fall pregnant this month what would be your age gap be between baby and current youngest?
Mine would be 11 years, feel a bit crazy starting again but I'm just so broody

SophieP89 · 30/07/2026 13:10

My age gap would be 8 years if I get pregnant in the next month or 2, otherwise it will be 9 xx

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 30/07/2026 13:52

Ive just had an almost positive,( 0.95 on the pre-mom app) ovulation test!!! And I’m only CD21 which would be very early for me to ovulate! So excited! Will test again tonight to see if it has risen to a true positive 🤞 please body, come on, you can do it 🤞

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 30/07/2026 13:55

Also, if it did work this month, my gap would be 3 years 4 months. Think you are so brave starting again after 11 years @inkgirl , I’m having a panic about 3 and a bit years! But know I’ll love the baby when it arrives what ever happens. Just hard when I had an idea in my head of what age gap I wanted and then it hasn’t worked out at all!

Caggie09 · 30/07/2026 15:12

Hi all, this will be the first "proper" month of trying for #1. For the past 6 years its been a case of not preventing. I started to use LH strips aeound 2 year ago, just to learn about my body and cycle. Ive tried to experiment with BBT, but in all honesty i just cant be bothered with the faff of it all🙈 i wake up at different times every morning, i used to forget to do it or i would do a good run of it for a week then just abandon it.
Im currently cycle day 2, usually ovulate around cycle day 16-19. Im going to order some Clearblue i think along side the cheapies. Fingers crossed for everyone🤞

The temp tracking wouldn't work for me either has i wake up later one and then the next its the same time for 5 days straight. Fingers crossed this is your cycle

I'm joining from the July thread. TTC #1. 9dpo today and on cycle 10. Did a sensitive test today and was negative but then also got a notification to say heart rate went up which can be an early sign. (I should know better than to symptom spot by now). Hoping this is the month, going to test again in the morning. Either way I'm feeling positive because we have our first GP appointment booked in to hopefully get some tests moving tomorrow.

20! Years not months 😬

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 30/07/2026 20:03

Gutted, my Lh levels seem to be falling! From my midday high of 0.95, I got a 0.74 just now (though with fairly hydrated pee!). Haven’t got a test over 1 so going to assume i didn’t ovulate. My body did this last cycle too, got a 0.93 on CD41 and then didnt actually ovulate until CD67! I was really hoping this cycle would be different 😩

ThereWereNoUsernamesLeft · 30/07/2026 20:04

@Springcloud26 Thank you! I will do.

I really hope you ovulate soon

How annoying! Sorry it’s happening to you 🙁

no sign of a lh peak for me, I feel like my cm is getting there but still getting v low ratios.
