I had a positive LH peak 30th July.
We dtd - 25th, 26th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st.
This was more than what we would normally do as I thought my surge was going to be a day earlier than what it was.
Probs would have skipped the 25th and 28th.

Ok thanks. Weve started dtd 3/4/6. I think ill get a peak today but hoping I dont until tomorrow and I cant dtd tonight. Desperate for this month to be the month!

Can I ask when everyone is dtd in a cycle relative to your opk peaks? Last month I only managed opk positive peak day and the following day. Want to make sure ive got better coverage this month

Cycle day 10, started LH testing with cheapies and clearblue. Expect to see peak from cycle day 16-19. Going to psy more attention to CM this month too

Vwhite · 07/08/2026 13:44

Sorry in advance for the incoming rant. Has anyone experienced positive ovulation tests over 2 days? I normally only have a short LH surge 1 day. In may it was the same an i ended up conceiving identical twins this is my first cycle since miscarrying them. I am very lucky every cycle we try i end up get pregnant but keep miscarrying. The NHS not much help either wont give me progesterone prescription without specialist say so need to wait for them to say yes to my GP even tho they have told me face to face as I've had 3 back to back losses but its not on my records that my Gp has access to. (Even when they said that they have added it to my record's) My other option is to wait in Emergency gyne (take up time for a real emergency) when i get a positive test on the off chance they can help. I feel that as i keep losing babies between 5-6 weeks from LMP dates i realistically need to start protective measures as soon as i get a positive test due to only having a week before the pregnancies fail. This was also discussed at the EPU and they said its on my file. Im now in the TWW window feeling like it’s going to fail before things begin if we are successful this month. Thanks if you made it this far 🫣

When you said supplements it reminded me of the time I took the pregnacare conception ones and it delayed my period!

I take wellwoman original now but I’ve heard that if you take supplements in the morning they can make you feel sick (which happened to me). Something that might work if you’ve not already tried it is taking the supplements after dinner. Someone recommended that to me and it made such a difference.

Interesting. I did take them in the morning and I would feel incredibly nauseous after….

I wish they’d make them smaller too, they were quite difficult to swallow and left an awful taste in my mouth.

Yep, we’re trying for our first. I think my biggest worry is that time isn’t really on our side, so every unsuccessful cycle feels like a bit more time lost. That said, I’m still staying optimistic because I know sometimes it really does just take time. We’ve both had all the tests and everything has come back clear so far.

I’ve got a scan next week to check for things like fibroids, endo, and to have a look at my ovaries. We’ve also got our first NHS IVF appointment booked for November, so it’s reassuring to have a bit of a backup plan if we need it.

Two weeks for your second? It just goes to show there’s absolutely no rhyme or reason to this baby-making thing! 😅 It must be frustrating having such long cycles. Mine are quite short, so I’ll be back trying again in about a week.

Do you take any medication to help regulate or shorten your cycles?
I did try taking supplements, but they made me feel sick, so I gave up! 😂

It sounds like you are doing everything you can do. And been very proactive with tests and things which is good! I’m glad things are all looking fine on the tests. Though probably that is annoying as well as they can’t find the problem! Did you go through the NHS or private?

I’m going the GP after this cycle and seeing what they will do if it doesn’t work this time. Hoping they would try clomid / Letrozole (ovulation induction medicine) on the NHS as I have PCOS. Won’t be surprised though if there isn’t much they can do as I already have children and so need to go private.

Long cycles are super annoying. I spend months just waiting to ovulate. Wish I had short cycles! Although short cycles are probably more annoying when not TTC 😂 swings and roundabouts!

I started myo-inositol 4 months ago to try to regulate my cycle. It is supposed to take 3 cycles to work and this will be my shortest cycle at 35 days. So I’m hoping it’s working. Think I need more data points though as last cycle was my longest at 83 days! Otherwise I just take folic acid and Vit D.

I did a test this morning but it was completely negative, not even a question of a line. App says I’m 13dpo today, AF due Saturday. I’ve had very brief (as in one wipe and gone) spotting on Monday, Wednesday and today, cramps on and off all week. Always had a regular cycle and I’ve never had spotting before a period before so I’m very confused!

Going to try and wait till Sunday to test again if AF hasn’t fully arrived. Trying to cheer myself up by reading about people who have tested negative until 14/15/16dpo but I’m quite concerned about potential perimenopause (I’m almost 35)

Sorry about the BFN! They are always hard to see, especially when you feel your body is doing something different to normal. Hope AF stays away and you get a line Sunday!

I am starting to see that. How long have you been trying for? X

A friend of mine is due start of September. My BIL and his partner have a planned c section for their second end of this month. And my other BIL and his wife have just announced their first pregnancy. Very happy for them but I won't pretend I didn't suddenly feel a little sad and impatient already that it wasn't us. I know it's early days...

I came off the pill begining on July. So not long. Its still emotional regardless of how long you try. I tired 2 years with my eldest so worried it going to be the same.

Its so much harder when everyone around you is having babies

Atm, I am only taking vitamin D (have been for years) + folic acid.

Is there any reason to take more than that if my diet is fine?

I do take them before bed though. My mum claims her doctors took her off folic acid because it constipated her. I have had no such problems. In fact, it made me a bit gassy for the first few days.

It can be an emotional rollercoster to say the least.
I ended up crying to my boyfriend last night because I really wanted to give him a baby because of how he is with my kids

3-4 times over the fertile period is good! Wouldn’t worry about that. Think I did it 4 times this fertile period? Five if you count the day after ovulation but that always feels like a bit of a waste of time (for conception purposes!) anyway. My fertile mucus had long gone by then 😂

I’ve been trying since December, so 8, almost 9 months now. Was trying for a September baby and you can see how well that’s gone 😩. I do have PCOS and very long cycles and really seem to be struggling to ovulate atm. Hoping I’m 6 dpo at the moment but I got it wrong last cycle so taking it with a pinch of salt.

This is my third time TTC. First took 7 months to conceive, second was 2 weeks! So this is the longest I’ve ever had to TTC. Finding it difficult mentally at times, but find threads like this mostly help.

How about you? Are you TTC your first? Are you trying any different supplements? I’m wondering if I should get DP on something. Really hope you get your BFP before your birthday!

Hello!

I am new here and ready to lock in!

Stop preventing in July, and this is our first month properly trying. I haven't learnt all the abbreviations yet. :D

My game plan: Have been using Flo to track my periods since December, so using that as a guide for now. If that doesn't work after a couple of months, I'll buy some ovulation strips.

Honestly, I am not one of those people who's been desperate for babies all my life. I am 31 and started taking it more seriously once my friends and family members started having babies in the last few years, but I have had v mixed feeling about it, although I was definitely leaning towards children rather than not.

Until now I guess. As soon as we started seriously trying this month, something clicked. Hope I can keep myself grounded for however long this is going to take.

Im sorry to hear that, if it helps with my youngest I didnt get a positive till I was a week late

Oh wow were you testing negative up to that point? I don’t remember too well with my son and annoyingly I didn’t record any of it but I think I found out either the day of my missed period or the day after, but I hadn’t tested before that. I’ll not give up hope just yet, might even try testing again tomorrow

Ah i don’t know if i have the patience to wait that long!
Technically tomorrow would be the first day of my period so i am worried that if implantation happened this late would it still be viable anyway.

Just a question - again feeding the delusion here.

If what I had last night was indeed implantation bleeding and I wake up tomorrow with no period still, would a pregnancy test potentially show positive?

I’d definitely give it one more day I think, test on Saturday. I think it’s about 2 days from implantation bleeding to a line on a test? But that’s just from being on TTC threads, not actual data 😂

I had a positive nine days after my lh peak before, so eight days after ovulation, but I had to put my phone flashlight behind the strip to see it. That must have been close to the day after implantation.

It’s such a ball ache, isn’t it?! I was pretty chilled last month, but I think I’m going to put a bit more effort in this cycle and might give SMEP a try. We’re averaging sex 3–4 days over my fertile window, so we’re definitely hitting the key days, but I figure it can’t hurt to be a bit more strategic.

What’s your situation? How long have you been trying, and is this your first? I’m really hoping to be pregnant before my 39th birthday. (in 4 months) 😅🤞

Welcome newbies, hope you are all well.

Ive been off the pill 5 weeks now I believe and still no period or positive pregnancy test. So still waiting on my body to sort it self out.
Had a blood test last week which came back as being anemic for some reason they want to do another blood test tomorrow.
