So I'm pretty much put this month, giving up all hope its happening this month. I know August is still a week away but thought I'd start a thread for the August TTCers.
How's everyone doing?

It is really odd! Contraception can do weird things.
Not the same, but I had the copper coil in a few years ago and was constantly bleeding, just a small about of brown blood everyday. No cycle at all! The GP thought if it was taken out it would solve the problem but it didn’t and I needed two different drugs to kick-start my cycle again. Once my cycle was re-started I did conceive quickly.
Hope the GP can provide some answers on Monday!

I didnt know they could give medication to kick start cycles, im hoping they can do something

I’m still unclear where I am this first cycle after early MMC in July and not yet had AF. Going off CM & libido I could have ovulated last weekend, so around 6 DPO today is my best guess. Just want the next week to go quickly, so I can start tracking properly again!

Being unsure about ovulation/ where you are in the cycle is the worst! Makes the wait feel so much longer. Have you TTC this cycle or are you waiting for AF first before trying?

I remember when I came off the pill the first few times I bleed within a few days so its confusing to why I'm not this time

Had such high hopes this time due to the awkward spotting - but am officially out as AF did show up overnight with a vengeance.

On to the next cycle again 🥲

At least me and DH had a nice trip planned to Lake District so hopefully gets my mind off of it a bit, really really hoping for a sticky baby next cycle.

So sorry to hear this! I wonder if it was a chemical with those vfl? Take care of yourself. Hope you have all lovely trip, the Lake District is a beautiful part of the world! Fingers crossed for you next cycle ❤️

Yes thank you! It’s just bliss to be away from it all.

I tested to another bfn this morning but then I realised it’s not a super sensitive test and recommends the first day after your missed period so I’m putting myself back in that happy delulu land where it might still happen this month.

Have you managed to hold out and not test this morning?

Sorry about the BFN! But yes, if it was a “test from day of missed period” then it’s not very sensitive at all! So could definitely just be too early.

I have managed to hold out! But now I’m symptom spotting like crazy, which is silly as I’ve never had any pregnancy symptoms this early with my others! But feeling bloated/ sore in the pelvic area, and like my boobs are more sensitive than usual. Sure it is all in the head though 😂😢 have no reason to believe this month is any different to all the others where it hasn’t worked. Oh the TTC mood swings!

Definitely phone on Monday. I hope they agree to do something! I always bleed within 3 days of stopping the pill! Even if i missed one I would bleed 3 days later, it was super annoying 😂 your situation seems so unusual!

I will be phoning monday yea as that will mark 3 weeks since they said to wait to call if I've not had a period. The doctor I spoke to then said they'll do some tests. Not sure on what tests though. I was at least expecting a withdrawal bleed by now not even had that

So sorry @DancingThroughLife02 , fingers crossed for the next cycle and hope the trip away provides the distraction! How long have you been TTC? Is it for your first?

Thank you, the situation is so frustrating

It’s so hard not to test! 8dpo for me tomorrow morning, don’t want to test as I hate squinters. Sunday will be more of a battle 😬

Hopefully they do something useful! I know the general advice is that anything up to three months is normal but hopefully they can do something to give you an idea of how long it’ll take.

Not sure why they said to wait a total of 6 weeks then. I really hope they do something to

Sorry @inkgirl this sounds dreadful! If you still haven’t had a period by Monday can you go back to your GP? It sounds like they need to give you something to induce a period! I feel it’s very unusual not to get a bleed this long after stopping the pill? Or at least run some more blood tests!

Sorry in advance for the incoming rant. Has anyone experienced positive ovulation tests over 2 days? I normally only have a short LH surge 1 day. In may it was the same an i ended up conceiving identical twins this is my first cycle since miscarrying them. I am very lucky every cycle we try i end up get pregnant but keep miscarrying. The NHS not much help either wont give me progesterone prescription without specialist say so need to wait for them to say yes to my GP even tho they have told me face to face as I've had 3 back to back losses but its not on my records that my Gp has access to. (Even when they said that they have added it to my record's) My other option is to wait in Emergency gyne (take up time for a real emergency) when i get a positive test on the off chance they can help. I feel that as i keep losing babies between 5-6 weeks from LMP dates i realistically need to start protective measures as soon as i get a positive test due to only having a week before the pregnancies fail. This was also discussed at the EPU and they said its on my file. Im now in the TWW window feeling like it’s going to fail before things begin if we are successful this month. Thanks if you made it this far 🫣

Rant away! My OPK’s tend to stay postive for around 36 hours. I’ve also had recurrent losses- last time I got a private prescription for progesterone as soon as I tested positive and it gave me a bit of leeway to get booked in with EPU (they gave me a 2 week supply initially!). Happy to send you the details if you think it’ll help, I planning on doing the same again when I hopefully fall pregnant again x

Still no peak for me from what I can see, I dont think my body knows what it's doing. I'm suffering with nausea and sickness, dizzy spells, low appite, intensely itchy skin. Acid reflux has worsened. I don't know what to think

Rant away, that is what this thread is for! TTC is a mind-fuck, honestly.

Sorry to hear you have had such a hard time of it. 3 miscarriages is heartbreaking.
Hate to say it, but have you considered going private? The NHS is famously bad for low progesterone from what I have seen on here. I think you’d probably only need one appointment, explain the situation and I imagine they would prescribe progesterone for you to take from after ovulation. Then I’ve seen people, date a positive test, get blood tests done, to confirm HcG doubling and then an ultrasound scan at 6 weeks to make sure everything is in the right place. Sorry if this is not possible for you financially, just saying what I’ve seen other people struggling with low progesterone do.

Or would EPU prescribe it? Also seen this, not from conception but from a positive pregnancy test. Seems to vary by area though as some want a scan first before prescribing, which is obviously no good if you keep losing before 6 weeks!

About the 2 days of positive ovulation tests, yes I had this last month. Didn’t conceive! I’ve seen it on other peoples tests, it seems you take the first one as the timer for egg release. So most apps would put the second day of positive tests as ovulation day and count from there.

How far into your TWW are you? Have you had any tests done to confirm that low progesterone is the problem? I had a friend with recurrent miscarriage and for her it was caused by over-active killer T cells thinking the baby was an infection or something!

Hope this is your cycle for a sticky bean! 🤞

Oh no!! That sounds awful!! Any chance you could escape to your parent’s house or something for a few days to let the reaction die down?
I think I’m 6 dpo. Monday would hopefully be 10 dpo so would normally test then, though always try (and fail) to hold out until 12 dpo so Wednesday 😂

I’ve escaped on a work trip!!

Ah, I find it really hard to not test. I’ve brought one along with me but I’m trying to hold out until Sunday morning…
