How's everyone doing?

Sorry to hear about your losses @Vwhite I’m in a similar position having just stopped bleeding from an early miscarriage. It was my first so not sure what to expect and just going to go for it too! Good luck for this cycle

Thank you, I'm sorry to hear your going through similar. Its difficult as each one is different. Our last one was twins so deffo know my levels will take longer this time to come down. How long ago did you stop bleeding? I've only just stopped yesterday and are you in the uk?

Anyone got any tips for tracking bbt? I think part of my issue is I’m waking up at different times every day (any time between 7 and 9) and with the heatwave I’m sleeping with just a sheet, so sometimes I’m chilly in the mornings and somethings too warm still. It seems to be all over though, anywhere between 36 and 36.5, and was up more like 36.8 when it was properly hot. Not sure there’s huge value in it considering I’m not sure I will even notice a rise (maybe if it’s three high days in a row it’ll stick out). Just such a faff doing it since I don’t have a wearable one.

Not sure to be honest as not tracked temp before, hopefully someone here will know

You are right about it sometimes becoming a chore OP. I still enjoy sex but when you know it's the fertile window and it's been many months of trying with no success it does chance things mentally. We are on cycle 11 TTC #1 with absolutely no luck so far so I feel strongly that something may be wrong. We have already started looking into investigations as although my periods are regular they are quite painful..partners SA was all good so if there's an issue it's likely me.

Good luck to everyone no matter which cycle it is for you x

I know the feeling. Tried a little over 2 years for my eldest. It was heart breaking.

Hello, coming over from the July one. Cycle 3 here. On CD5, had a Mirena coil for the last 17 year, removed 1st June, so trying to work out what’s 'normal' for me after so long. OPKing and Garmin tracking temperature so pretty clear on when I ovulate it’s just it doesn’t seem right. I’m pretty sure with my first I fell pregnant quite late in my cycle but who am I to question all the science. Anyway got a busy few weeks ahead so we’ll fit what we can when we can and see what happens. Best endeavours to you all x

Welcome. Hopefully the busy schedule will keep your mind off TTCing and you can just enjoy DTD when you get the chance. I know sometimes with TTC it becomes a chore

Springcloud26 · 26/07/2026 19:32

Thank you @Silverglass I’ll see how I get on this week 😊

Springcloud26 · 26/07/2026 16:53

Oh that’s frustrating for you @inkgirl, when did you come off the pill?

I’m sorry you went through one too @Silverglass, that is reassuring sign with CM! I was still testing positive strongly on Thursday so will wait a week. How long did it take to get your negative, if you don’t mind me asking?

Quite fast, just over a week, but my lh strips stayed completely negative (you couldn’t really even see a line without squinting) for a couple of weeks before creeping back up to my normal low line.

inkgirl · 26/07/2026 17:45

Springcloud26 · 26/07/2026 17:42

That’s good that your doctor will do some tests @inkgirl. When I first started TTC I had a really long cycle and thought I was late by about a week but was testing negative. I rang my GP and they had me in same day for a blood test to test hcg. AF turned up before I got the results but I was very impressed they took me seriously. They tested a lot more things and noticed my TSH was elevated so now that is being monitored, where as I would never have known about it.

I was half expecting to have to wait months before they did anything. I'm glad they took you seriously too

It really is. I've got to wait 3 weeks then doctor will do a blood test as he said most people usually would have had at least a withdrawal bleeding in 6 weeks after coming off the pill. And because I had a faint positive with pregnancy tests and are now negative he just wants to see what's going on

@BigGirlPants01 Luckily I cut the caffeine at the same time as when we had those heatwaves and I wouldn’t have wanted hot drinks as much anyway - I think that helped any withdrawal symptoms! I also added some decaf tea as a replacement.

The TWW is so hard! Last time I waited to test until 15 DPO and AF due too. This is when I took up swimming to take my mind off it!

Way to go holding off 15 days!!

BigGirlPants01 · 26/07/2026 17:27

Snap! Planning is in my blood haha and this is just that one thing you just can't control! Folic and vitamin d for me too. I've heard about some changing your cycle so I've been careful with what i'm taking.

How are you finding the lack of caffine? I'm ok but hubby was crawling the walls for a few days.
It's only been 3 months for us (1st month wasn't really tracked) I'm just trying not to get into my head too much, we're both of the same mindset - if we're gonna do it this is probs the last chance and if it happens then it happens. That 2ww is a killer tho!

@inkgirl the waiting is always hard when TTC and must be worse when cycle is being unusual. I really hope you get some clarity soon.

@BigGirlPants01 Yep I like to plan and I’ve found with TTC, you can’t control everything so I really struggle with this! I’m the same, cut out alcohol, reduced caffeine and starting swimming & Pilates. Trying to minimise stress too.

I’m 39 and TTC for first too - I was taking a Pregnacare vit at start of year but my cycle went to 37 days (usually around 32) so I stopped and now take seperate folic & vit d. Also added omega 3 and coq10, just in case it helps.

My last cycle where I conceived I tracked with LH strips for first time and found ovulation was around CD 22 so I think later than I realised, and maybe my previous attempts were way out!

Yes, I track with strips and store in a tracker. My cycles are pretty regular give or take a day some times. Luckily i'm finding my surge (usually around 2/3pm) and if its when it should be this month thats slap bang in the middle of the hottest day we're due haha!

Fingers crossed for this one.. I do have PCO (not the syndrome) and i'm 36 (ttc first child)...
Both arent big drinkers so we've cut all alcohol, on the usual vitamins, 1 cup of caff coffee a day etc. You can do all you can so who knows what will happen!

About 3 weeks ago, the first time I came off the pill my period arrived a few days later so for it to be weeks this time round is frustrating
