Anyone TTC number 2 in your mid-30s and fancy company?

Anyone else TTC number 2 in their mid-30s and fancy some company? 😊

I’m 35, have a DD who is just about to turn 4, and we’ve just started our first cycle trying for number 2.

I feel like we’d just reached the glorious stage of proper sleep, no nappies, actual conversations and being able to leave the house without half of the house crammed into a changing bag… so naturally I decided what our lives really need is a newborn 😂

I went very Type A when TTC my DD and turned the whole thing into a project - LH strips, BBT, supplements, special lube, the works 🙈 This time I’m trying very hard to be more relaxed and go with the flow. Trying being the operative word 😂

Would love some company from anyone in a similar boat: TTC number 2, mid-30s, slightly excited, slightly questioning their own sanity and trying not to symptom spot at 2DPO 😂

PS. Currently on cycle 1 and my fertile window is just about closing, so now entering the very calm and rational part where I definitely won’t analyse every bodily sensation for the next two weeks 😂🙈

@Babydustthisyear Hello and welcome!
Fingers crossed this cycle turns out positive for you!

I'm 10dpo today, tested negative yesterday but decided not to test today and wait until maybe tomorrow or Sunday morning.
Still having some short sharp twinges low down, AF usually starts between 12-13dpo so feel a little bit of hope still. I think because previous pregnancies I've always seen a faint line at 9dpo, it's messing with my head a little 😅

beeble347 · 24/07/2026 14:31

Welcome @Babydustthisyear ! I have everything crossed for you 🤞🏻

@CasualOverthinker so funny, okay I now have an actual digital. Will see how it goes tomorrow

@Peedthebed thank you so much for the reassurance, bless you!

Babydustthisyear · 24/07/2026 13:22

Hey ladies, came across your thread and would love to join you all, I’m 36yr old mum of one DD who is 2yrs we are currently in the two week wait of cycle 4 TTC baby number 2. I’m 13dpo and I had implantation bleeding at 10dpo, negative test today but I had this bleed with my daughter and I tested positive 6 days after implantation bleeding so I suppose iv to wait a few more days I’m really hopeful but equally worried that it’s just another coincidence, I cant believe I waited to 13dpo to test I’m your classic pee on the stick from 7dpo kind of girl 😂😂!

anyone else in the TWW window?

Thank you @CasualOverthinker and @Peedthebed !

I've just realised these are not digitals are they? I'm actually the most clueless idiot ever 🤡

@Peedthebed fingers crossed for you lovely, I did see that @inkgirl started a thread for August which I've had my eye on!

I have, I'm sure im out this month, so thought I'd start one for everyone else thats out this month

@Peedthebed thank you for the reassurance and I am really sorry if my fretting and paranoia came across as tone deaf. It was not my intention. I so empathize with anyone who didn’t get their BFP this cycle, or who’s still in the dreaded TWW. I am crossing everything for more positives before the month is over!!!

Oh my gosh no! Sorry I didn’t mean it like that at all! I can see how it read a bit envious and bitter now though! Sorry that wasn’t my intention. I just meant as an objective person, who is not in it and who is not panicking, that they look very positive to me. And when you are the one in it and the one panicking it can be hard to find the joy in that moment you’ve been waiting forever for 💐

These are analog babes 😂 the digital is the one that tells you “Pregnant” or “Not Pregnant” 😁

Guys I know you’re all stressing about faint lines but if I saw those I wouldn’t doubt if I was pregnant! Congratulations to you all. I know it’s scary and you want to see the lines progressing, but right now you’ve got positives and that’s amazing. Fingers crossed for an uneventful, boring pregnancy for you all.

fingers crossed too for anyone else in their fertile window or just about to start the two week wait, is there anyone left with me?

Went straight out to get digitals 🤷🏻‍♀️ still seeing a VFL and I'd only been holding my bladder 2 hours, TMI but urine was definitely more diluted looking than this morning. Going to step away from the tests for today and try again tomorrow. This was the Boots "early detection" one but I'm going to try a Clearblue 6 days before missed period one tomorrow.

These are so clearly positive!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I am fairly confident if you did a digital it would show! 🤞🏻💜💜💜

You are, of course, right. I am being irrational and paranoid. 😂
The irony is that I’ve realised if I’d only done my very first test yesterday or today, I’d have been absolutely overjoyed with that little line and the positive digital.
Instead, I’d spent days squinting at shadows, hyperfixating on microscopic differences and comparing tests every few hours, so by the time I got a proper positive I’d somehow managed to rob myself of some of that excitement. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I hate my brain sometimes.

Anyway… I showed DH the test yesterday and he was so happy. 🥹 It was actually really lovely.

He’s the kind of person who operates on “I won’t worry about the unknown unless I have evidence that I need to.” Whereas I’m over here like, “I’m going to worry until someone proves I don’t have to.” 😂
So he quietly took all the tests and hid them somewhere… and, rather conveniently, he’s out of town this weekend. 😂 Which means there will be no testing for me until next week, whether I like it or not. Probably for the best. 🤡❤️

I love the sound of your DH 😂😂 with our kind of brains we definitely have to marry a certain opposite kind of person don't we!

So happy for you 🤗

beeble347 · 24/07/2026 09:20

@Mortima @SophieP89 thank you guys! 14dpo according to Flo but I didn't do any OPKs. AF due tomorrow and I've been having a lot of cramping.

Could I do digital/FRER today? I thought it had to be first urine of the morning to show anything... Toddler is at nursery so this would be a perfect day to confirm either way I thought, celebrate or sit in my feelings.

HCG doubles every 48 hours and that looks like a good strong line to me. The fact you got 1-2 weeks on a digital is a good sign too. I know it’s hard, but I think now you know you are pregnant, you need to step back from the tests for a few days and see what happens.

Agree with this @CasualOverthinker I know last time I was testing every day and analysing it, then panicked when the line got fainter but actually the pregnancy was just progressing!

And you took a really reliable test as well!

@Agathapoirot not necessarily? I was stressing this time because last time I tested positive at 11dpo. But I actually put the dates from my last pregnancy with now toddler into ChatGPT, that old oracle, and apparently I was more like 17dpo when I tested positive that time. I wondered as my original due date then was the 27th of the month, but it got moved forward to the 20th when I had my scans.

Though try telling me to wait to test until AF is due 😂 who's got that kind of patience?

@CasualOverthinker so glad it's not just me!! Now I'm thinking, do I test again today? Tomorrow? Thinking FRER tomorrow first thing? Hilariously my DB is coming to stay for a week tomorrow afternoon so I'm like could I try and confirm if there is anything and tell DH before DB gets here? Keep it to myself for a week? Prob find a quiet moment is best. I also have hypothyroidism so if I was pregnant I need to tell my GP and up my medication ASAP. So even if I was chilled (I'm not) I couldn't be chilled haha

Had this this morning. AF due tomorrow so I'll keep testing but I could see a VFL (actually hard to pick it up at all in the photos). It was easier to see IRL but still definitely not the kind of line you'd say is a definite positive. Not completely out for this month though hopefully?

🥹 I see it too!! Hope this is it for you, what dpo are you today? X

Mortima · 24/07/2026 08:48

@beeble347 Ahh that's a definite line! Have you got any digitals/FRERs?

@CasualOverthinker I do think that today's line is stronger, but I get that it's not the clear progression that you want to see. I am optimistic for you - agree that maybe stepping away from the tests is a good idea (although I know that's not the kind of thread this is!)

Girls, I’m worried there’s no progression. I did another FRER this morning and it’s maybe the same as yesterday morning? I can’t see any progression on that test… :( Do we think that looks like a chemical pregnancy?

It might be just where the hgc levels double every other day so progression 2 days in a show may not be obvious

Congrats!!

I convinced myself there were shadows on my test strips yesterday and especially last night. Took a super early early digital and it’s negative so at 11 dpo that’s me out!

@Mortima ah hell, there's always some kind of trade-off isn't there! Really glad you've been able to access Xonvea at least.

And thank you, AF due Saturday which is also when my brother is coming to stay for a week. I thought it would be a good distraction to time them together assuming this month didn't go well
