Anyone TTC number 2 in your mid-30s and fancy company?

Anyone else TTC number 2 in their mid-30s and fancy some company? 😊

I’m 35, have a DD who is just about to turn 4, and we’ve just started our first cycle trying for number 2.

I feel like we’d just reached the glorious stage of proper sleep, no nappies, actual conversations and being able to leave the house without half of the house crammed into a changing bag… so naturally I decided what our lives really need is a newborn 😂

I went very Type A when TTC my DD and turned the whole thing into a project - LH strips, BBT, supplements, special lube, the works 🙈 This time I’m trying very hard to be more relaxed and go with the flow. Trying being the operative word 😂

Would love some company from anyone in a similar boat: TTC number 2, mid-30s, slightly excited, slightly questioning their own sanity and trying not to symptom spot at 2DPO 😂

PS. Currently on cycle 1 and my fertile window is just about closing, so now entering the very calm and rational part where I definitely won’t analyse every bodily sensation for the next two weeks 😂🙈

36 soon to be 37 & been trying casually since October 🙂 trying not to put much pressure on it as my cycles are different each month so struggling to track correct ovulation

Me! I'm 33, have a daughter who is almost 5 and we've been trying for 10 months. DD was conceived first month of trying so I'm losing my mind a bit that its taking so long.

Every month I tell myself I will be less obsessive and more relaxed about the whole thing but chilled really isnt my wheelhouse so of course I've got all the apps and strips and temp tracking going 😁

Also this heat is driving me insane because my last fertile window I was too sweaty and fed up to have that much sex and its looking the same for this window 🤣

My DD is 5 too and conceived 2nd month so absolutely get the mind boggling waiting for it to happen again! I’m still trying to remain positive that when the time’s right it’ll work out but that might be seriously naive!

@Diamond89 I’m so sorry about your MC ❤️ Really hoping cycle 3 is the one for you 🤞
Sounds like we’re at a very similar point in our cycles too… I’m just coming towards the end of my fertile window, so I think the 2WW is about to begin 🙈 Have you been tracking ovulation or trying to be one of these mythical relaxed people I keep hearing about?

@CasualOverthinker same! I was honestly shocked it didn't happen first time. My period is due the 24th...after testing obsessively last month I said this month I would wait until the day before but realistically...probably from the 19th. How about you?

Oh stop 😂 Mine is due the 24th too!! We are officially cycle twins 👀😂
I would love to sit here and tell you I’m going to calmly wait until my period is due, but I got a faint positive around 8DPO with my DD and unfortunately that information has lived rent free in my head ever since 🙈😂 So realistically… I’ll probably start far too early and then complain that I’ve started far too early.
Looks like we’re doing the insanity together 😂🤞

Hello ladies. 36 and ttc no 2 for quite some time now. Currently coming towards the end of my fertile window of cycle 3 since a MC a few months back.

@wfcats Oh you are definitely among friends here 😂 Mine was conceived pretty quickly too, so I think part of my brain has very unhelpfully decided that must be how it works every time 🙈
I’m just entering the 2WW too, so very happy to join you in calmly and rationally analysing whether a random twinge at 3DPO means anything 😂 When are you planning to test? 👀

Hi! I am 36 with a 3.5 year old trying for number 2 - technically for 4 months but we didn't really hit the dates for the first two months so not sure it counts. Got pregnant immediately without really trying with my first so this has all been new to me. Just entering the 2ww so bracing myself for constant symptom analysis and insanity Hmm

@Agathapoirot Oh I’m so sorry about your miscarriage ❤️ I can completely understand why TTC again after that felt so all-consuming.
But honestly 😂 I really thought already having one would make me so chilled this time too! Like, we know we can have children, we already have this lovely little person, whatever happens happens… meanwhile I’m on cycle ONE and have already mentally calculated potential due dates 🙈😂

@ByKindOpalPoet Oh wow, I completely get this! I think there’s so much pressure around the “ideal” age gap, but being financially and mentally ready feels infinitely more important.🩷 Also, planning TTC around the academic year is exactly the kind of logistical thinking I can get behind 😂 Although knowing my luck, the human body would take one look at my carefully planned timeline and immediately choose chaos …

im half expecting that to happen. wouldn't surprise me if my body decided my birthday in September or my husbands birthday in December (3 days before Christmas) was the best time for a baby to arrive

CasualOverthinker · 11/07/2026 20:06

@dreamywalker Hahaha I love that “trying to be really relaxed” was immediately followed by “6DPO waiting for my testing strips to arrive” 😂😂 You are absolutely in the right place!
First cycle here too, although I’m only just coming out of my fertile window so I haven’t even earned the right to be unhinged yet 🙈😂 Really hope this is a lovely new chapter for you after all the relationship drama ❤️ Keep us updated when those strips arrive! 🤞

I’ll join the team!!
im 36 with a 5 year old. Lots of relationship drama and now I’m on my first cycle ttc with my new partner of 3 and a half years.

im trying to be really relaxed about it this time and I really want to enjoy the experience but im currently 6DPO waiting for my testing strips to arrive hehe

CasualOverthinker · 11/07/2026 19:23

@Orchid887 Oh we are definitely in very similar boats age-gap wise! Mine is just about to turn 4 😊
I’m so sorry about your missed miscarriage and failed transfer ❤️ Really hoping transfer number 3 is the one for you 🤞
Also “I’ll be an early testing nightmare” 😂 welcome, you are absolutely among friends here. I got a faint positive at around 8DPO with my DD, which has unfortunately given me completely unrealistic expectations of myself and every future pregnancy 🙈😂
Please keep us updated! I’ll be crossing everything for you 🤞❤️

Hi! A slightly different boat but also very similar and driving myself mad..

I'm 32, with a 4 (almost 5 year old) and TTC a sibling. I had a frozen embryo transfer three years ago and sadly had a missed miscarriage, then another attempt was a fail to implant. So on transfer number 3 now and technically 7DPO (2DP5DT). I'll be an early testing nightmare.

Really feel for the longer TWW for you guys.. at least I get 5 days shaved off mine!

Wishing everyone all the luck.

I'm 33, and we are looking at TTC number 2 - delaying it slightly until the end of the year - only because I want to fit it around the academic school year (secondary teacher). I have 1 DD7 (8 in October) and we've only just felt ready both financially and physically/mentally for number 2

Agathapoirot · 11/07/2026 18:59

Hey! I’m 34 and my little one just turned 2 in June. Just around ovulation time in cycle 2, and very much like you thought I’d be very chill about it this time. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks with my first pregnancy so was desperate to be pregnant again after that. I thought already having a child would make me more relaxed but I’m already Lh testing and now i‘m obsessing over age gaps 🙈 can’t help our personality traits I guess!
