Anyone else TTC number 2 in their mid-30s and fancy some company? 😊 I’m 35, have a DD who is just about to turn 4, and we’ve just started our first cycle trying for number 2. I feel like we’d ^just^ reached the glorious stage of proper sleep, no nappies, actual conversations and being able to leave the house without half of the house crammed into a changing bag… so naturally I decided what our lives really need is a newborn 😂 I went very Type A when TTC my DD and turned the whole thing into a project - LH strips, BBT, supplements, special lube, the works 🙈 This time I’m trying very hard to be more relaxed and go with the flow. Trying being the operative word 😂 Would love some company from anyone in a similar boat: TTC number 2, mid-30s, slightly excited, slightly questioning their own sanity and trying not to symptom spot at 2DPO 😂 PS. Currently on cycle 1 and my fertile window is just about closing, so now entering the very calm and rational part where I definitely won’t analyse every bodily sensation for the next two weeks 😂🙈

Then a BFN with FMU this morning on a FRER!

SECOND wee though.. I can feel like I can see something on a One Step?! But again getting photos is basically impossible. I'm obviously driving myself made and hoping amazon turn up with the next lot of FRER soon.

Wait, but I actually see a line here!!! OMG 🥹 this could be our first positive in this group!! Crossing everything for you that it gets more visible tomorrow!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi all, glad to join this thread for some much needed support and solidarity! I’m 37 and my little one is 2. Have been TTC #2 for one cycle so far which sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy last week. So no idea what’s going on with ovulation dates now - prob going to be OPKing and temping.

@Mortima Hahaha YES 😂 The TV testing scenes are ridiculous. Sitting together ceremoniously taking a Clearblue on the day her period is due… ma’am, we both know you’ve already done 7 cheapies and held at least one up to a window 😂

8DPO and utterly convinced you’re pregnant though 👀 I fully support this energy 😂 Everything crossed your “implantation cramps” are actually implantation cramps 🤞

With my DD, the weirdest early sign was that I suddenly couldn’t stand coffee. I normally love it and one morning the smell/taste just completely turned my stomach. Although hindsight is a dangerous thing because I’m sure my brain has now edited the story into “I simply knew” 😂🙈

Also period due on DH’s birthday is brutal 😂 Either the best birthday present ever or absolutely no birthday sex. No pressure, universe.

@wfcats I used Premom OPKs and pregnancy test strips with my first, never had a false positive so I'd vouch for them. Then go onto FRER if it looks like a positive, much more satisfying to look at 😂

@CasualOverthinker Husband needs to get with the programme! I think I caved and tested early every time when TTC the first time, and really relate to the endless googling.."BFN at xDPO then BFP stories". It's just the modern way.

It really winds me up when watching TV/films now when the couple are trying to get pregnant and you see them sitting in the bathroom together every month with a clear blue, like she hasn't tested 3 times already that week on her lunch breaks with a cheapie, and they're made of money...("Babies" anyone?)

I'm around 8DPO and utterly convinced I'm pregnant 😂Felt quite crampy and a bit strange yesterday and thought, this is it, implantation. Obviously madness. I'm going to try and hold off until the weekend (period is due on DH's birthday - so no birthday sex, sorry mate).

Did anyone have any early signs with previous pregnancies? I had a chemical the cycle before conceiving DS, and both times I remember having cervical mucus from around 6DPO, and that white wine tasted 'off' (beer/prosecco was fine though).

I’m somewhere around 4–5DPO, based on the highly scientific combination of vibes and Flo’s prediction 😂🙃

I know I’m going to be beyond tempted to test this weekend, but I also don’t particularly fancy disappointing myself and ruining my own mood for the entire weekend over a test I’ve taken far too early 😂

Someone please remind me to use OPKs, BBT or frankly both next cycle so we’re not playing this ridiculous ovulation guessing game again. It’s actually starting to piss me off 😂🙈

I was telling my husband last night that if this isn’t our month, we need to really lock in next cycle. He looked genuinely confused and went “wait… what happened to going with the flow, taking it easy, if it happens it happens?” 😂
Yeah no. That was the old me. Two weeks ago. I was young and naïve back then. 🫠

@wfcats Hahahaha I fear we both know exactly how this plays out 😂 You test at 6DPO, get a negative, tell yourself “well obviously, it’s far too early” and then spend the next 4 hours googling “6DPO BFN then BFP success stories” 🙃😂
So no, absolutely don’t do it.
Will I judge you if you do? Also absolutely not 👀😂
I have a stash of chepie Amazon strip tests supposedly for early detection, FRER and some digis which I only would deploy when I am pretty certain there is a line on the others.

I tend to use the cheap One Step strip tests, I have used that brand for ovulation and pregnancy for years. If I see something on a pregnancy test, I then buy either Clearblue or First Response to confirm as I find progression can be slower on the cheap strip tests ☺️

@CasualOverthinkerI'm 5DPO wondering if it's reasonable to start testing tomorrow (it's definitely not...right? Because it will be negative and then I'll spend all day googling 'can you get a negative 6dpo and still be pregnant?' and my phone will explode)

@Orchid887 I have the opposite of line eyes lol so take me with a pinch of salt 😂🙈 I can’t confidently see anything yet, but the photo is quite tricky to make out! Definitely test again today though 🤞 Really hoping something starts to show for you ❤️

All sound's very promising. I have taken a test and it's what I think is the faintest of faints. I edited the photo because it wouldn't show at ALL otherwise. Keep convincing myself it's there and then not there!

@Orchid887 I did the same 🤣 treated pregnancy tests like ovulation strips, and then it felt like less pressure when it got to a reasonable dpo 🤪

I had my peak Lh test yesterday and we dtd Saturday and today, so feel like it’s been given a fair chance again this month!

Back into the TWW I go…..

It's amazing how quickly we become obsessed with peeing on things, isn't it? Like, I'd pee on anything and study it.

So far I did a test in the middle of the night, one first thing and one at lunch time. What is wrong with me?!

@Orchid887I am so with you re peeing on literally anything! Honestly I don't know what to do with myself on the rare days I don't need to pee on some sort of stick.

Really appreciate how much this thread is normalising all the behaviour I thought was just me being bananas.
