How many dpo are you? Not to get your hopes up but if you're towards the end of your 2ww LH and HCG are molecularly very similar so I would take a pregnancy test. If you're early on you can disregard it as only the first positive counts.

Going on my ovulation tests, I'd be 2dpo so still very early days

I'm a bit confused, thought i was in my 2ww but had positive ovulation test for 3 days now.

This time round its the first month. So not expecting it to happen so quick. Tried 2 years for my eldest, 3 months for my middle child and my youngest was a surprise. They all have the same dad. This one would have a different dad so we're not sure how our fertility is

Did it go lighter in between? This confused me, I got a positive and then continued getting positives for days. But I think you go from the first positive. If it went lighter in between it could be that your body didn’t manage to ovulate and is trying again I suppose? Or you’re ovulating two eggs? Or if you have PCOS they can be a bit unreliable

It didnt, it stayed dark. It only started getting lighter this evening, ovulating 2 eggs would be scarey lol but not uncommon for my age apparently. As far as im aware I dont have pcos

Ovulation happens between 12-36hrs after a positive test. Hopefully you baby danced yesterday or day before, or make sure you baby dance today lol

It was this morning, its a little lighter now, so if I have ovulated it possible would have been yesterday or this morning

Going on the ovulation tests I'd be 1 or 2 dpo, did a pregnancy test as well and thats negative

Can I ask what DPO you are? As with some ovulation brands they become positive when you’re pregnant. I got my first BFP pregnancy test at 8dpo and did an ovulation test for funsies, as I read they can be positive when you’re pregnant and it was!

@ThisNoisyLemurnot sure on my cycle day as came off the pill last week. Wasn't expecting to get a positive ovulation test so quick. Just tested again and it seems to be getting slowly lighter.

Ooo what day of your cycle were you expecting to be? Did you have positive OPKs earlier this month too?

get down to it if the OPK is positive! Hehe

Vent away! It’s hard when you can’t talk to people irl about it and it’s all just in your head. I used to always say I don’t mind if it takes a year or more as long as I know eventually we’ll get there, the waiting isn’t the hard part it’s the not knowing!
Hopefully for you it’s just bad luck so far that will change soon, or it’s something easy to fix.
and the chance each month is pretty low really anyway, sooo much has to go right to get pregnant! It doesn’t necessarily mean anything is wrong.
fingers crossed for some helpful results for you when the analysis comes back and with your appointment, all you can do is keep trying until then.
I’d say though most of my friends had their first at 35/36 if that helps even a tiny bit, I think you still have plenty of time

Edited

You are right there is an awful lot that has to go right to produce a pregnancy I'm just driving myself crazy trying to imagine which part(s) aren't working! Since we haven't had one positive yet, I feel convinced that the sperm and egg aren't even meeting. That may not be true, but it's my gut feeling now that it's been such a long time and it's such a desperately sad and frustrating thing.

Thanks for your words of support though, it means a lot. I hope your journey is easier. 💜

Maomee · 06/07/2026 13:55

Thank you for your kind words.
I know it's still technically in the normal range that most people conceive but I can't help but feel something is wrong as we've always timed things so well almost every cycle and I do usually have heavy and painful periods which makes me think something may be wrong.

I am going to have an appointment later this month where I can discuss this more and we're still waiting for my partner's semen analysis come back so we are beginning to look into things. I'm just scared that things are going to take much longer than we'd hoped. I think another part of it is the fact we started trying when I was 33 and I'm 34 now .at this rate I'll be at least 35 when I have a baby if I ever do, and it now looks likely it may be even later. Just so worried about any underlying problems and the fact these things only get worse with time .

Sorry to vent 😭 I just don't really have anyone to talk to other than my partner and he gets upset too.

Sorry ❤️

It’s so disheartening getting your period every month! And the unknown of when things are going to happen. I hope you’re ok. Sounds like you’ve been really proactive with some appointments scheduled in. Hoping you get some good news while you’re waiting for your appointments!

Hi!! Thank you! I am and I’m actually feeling better than ever so do think the illness literally reset me!

I feel I’m a bit behind on your latest update?? So I did try the superwoman by SHREDDY for a bit and that helped I think? But last month I did no supplements what so ever and all my
pms symptoms basically calmed down. I’ve now gone back to just my multivitamin I was just taking when I had my CP but my husband is also taking the male version now too.

Ive also now started running as that is what I did in the 3 months pre my DD conception!

have you gone to the GP? How long did it take with your other pregnancies?

So glad to hear you are feeling better! That is excellent news! Have your cycles settled down? I remember they were a bit all over the place in terms of length?

Running sounds good! I need to do more exercise really. Just trying to find the energy at the end of the day when I just want to curl up in bed! But, you are right, I’m sure exercise contributes to general health and so a healthy cycle.

Maybe I should try getting DH on something too. He is so rubbish at remembering though 😂

I haven’t gone to the GP. Just feel it’s unlikely to do anything as I already have children and so they won’t help! But, as shown on a thread linked above, I might be being unduly pessimistic. It probably depends a bit on health board too and can’t find a lot of whether ovulation induction is offered or not by mine. But I think I will get an appointment booked ( though they probably won’t be able to see me for a month knowing my GP!)

First pregnancy was 7 months, 3 cycles. Second pregnancy was 2 weeks after getting the coil out! So this is my longest TTC attempt.
