OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratualtions
When did you do it?

calsworld · 08/07/2008 15:17

Starshine! That looks suspiciously like a BFP to me! Is it clearer in RL?

Starshinetiger · 08/07/2008 15:16

Take a look at my profile and let me know what you think - the best piccies I could take!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 15:15

Meeeeeee

Did you do it?????

Starshinetiger · 08/07/2008 15:11

Anyone about...

glaskham · 08/07/2008 14:44

Well i just spent the last 2hrs sorting and gutting DC's room!! there is not a thing under their beds, bedding all put away in mine and DH's room and all they can access is the few teddies and toys i have left in there- hopefully nothing but toys will mean less mess, and easier to tidy too!!

I only have 2 full days left and then i test FMU on friday!!! not really been tempted to test yet!! I think having a special date to test is helping me!! Dont think i am pg, and neither does DH (wondering if we're enjoying the GOFing too much).... and to be honest if i'm not it will be for the best as it gives me a couple more weeks to sort DS and his behaviour out before i'm getting too tired to put up with it!!

calsworld · 08/07/2008 14:28

thought you might like that one! It would be lovely if I am playing your game wouldn't it!

calsworld · 08/07/2008 14:27

I have back ache today, sort of around my kidneys (I think ), well, low down on the left hand side at the back...is that kidneys?

Playingthe9monthwait · 08/07/2008 14:27

Cal -

calsworld · 08/07/2008 14:26

I wish I could see inside my body

CD29 for me today, and to coin a familiar phrase, I'm just playing the waiting game!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 14:23

Just remembered (not sure what reminded me) but someone was asking where Sorky is, I think she is laid up with MS, she went sick the week I was away, but that was the gist I got.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 14:21

Fish flapping game: get kids to each cut a fish shape out of old news paper, (if you don't mind a bit of mess, some time can be wasted used by decorating with glitter/sequins) then use the rest of the news paper to flap the fish along the floor, first to cross the finish line is the winner.

Kids love it IME!

Dragging and CM can be very good signs of pregnancy, a UTI, or I think thrush? Do you know when you OV'ed? If it helps I had loads of CM in the week before my BFP this time, I actually thought I'd OV'ed that week!

2beautifulgirls · 08/07/2008 14:14

Thanks NJ. What is the fish flapping game?

This is definately a pain that i have never had before and very intense, now feels like a dragging accompanied with a lot of thick white CM, (TMI) i have felt wet all day Either something good or something bad?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 13:59

Musical statues, the fish flapping game, passing the balloon between legs and over heads, getting someone to teach them all a bit of a dance routine always seems to go down well, treasure hunt, ermmmm spin the bottle but with treats/tricks/jokes. Been a while since I did the party games! LOL

Pain could be good, though I think we are 100000 times more aware of every little niggle and pop going on when TTC'ing!

2beautifulgirls · 08/07/2008 13:53

Hi Everyone. Sorry i haven't been around much, life is hectic....

How is everyone? Anymore BFP lately?

I have a party for 20ish 4 year olds at Saturday at my house/garden, but looking at the weather think my house is going to get trashed!!!!!
Any suggestions for games? I have pass the parcel, musical bumps, Simon says.

On the TTC front i am CD20, (god didn't realise i was that far in my cycle, just checked my diary) yesterday i had this short sharp pain low in abdomen almost like an electric shock! Then today walking back from Nursery i had it again, had to walk slow and almost stop it was so bad. Almost like period pain but more intense? Any ideas?

Playingthe9monthwait · 08/07/2008 13:22

Yeah, go with your instinct Nat. As you said the "treatment" is normally , eat healthily, so if I do that from the start I can't see an issue. My work colleague has normal diabetes and at the moment it is basically controlled soley by diet.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 13:14

Oooooh, is he a footballer then? Anyone we know? Are you a WAG? LOL

I think I'd be inclined to give him a few days of running around after him, then seduce him, once he is up for sex, he will be up for everything, get's you off the hook much more quickly

I don't encourage, I just bully plant the seed of thought!

I think they'd do better by scrapping the GTT, giving more info on what women should look for (for the signs of GD) and then if by 37 weeks or whatever the woman is sporting a mega bump then offer a scan to try and determine the size of the baby. It would cost them far less, it would make the women who aren't 'high risk' of getting GD be aware of the signs, and like I said, since they very rarely actually do anything (except extra monitoring) for women who do develope GD, it all seems such a waste a of time and money.

I will stick by my guns with this, unless they give me a decent reason for having it again I am going to refuse.

Playingthe9monthwait · 08/07/2008 13:10

Ooo Star - hope your DH's operation goes ok.

Nat - Think I will have to work really hard with the midwife convincing her I am going to be ultra healthy . TBH I don't eat much in the way of junk/processed/high sugar foods anyhow, so I don't think I am that likely to get GD.

Starshinetiger · 08/07/2008 12:58

Oh, it's just operation on his cruciate ligament (knee) - it's a fairly common operation (especially with footballers and skiiers), but he has to rest up for 3 weeks afterwards, doing physio, etc. I just don't like the thought of him being under gen. anaesthetic - I'm a wuss! Have warned him that the moment he calls out "Nurse", that's it, I'm not doing anything more for him - my Mum offered to bring a bell over for him (might just have to have stern words with her!), but then she is coming over this evening to look after both my boys for the next 2 days while I'm at work. She does refer to my DH as her "favourite son-in-law" (he is currently her only SIL)
Didn't remember that bit about 4 hours - may hold off until have brought DH home from hospital and see how I feel then....
I knew I could count on you for encouragement NJ
NJ - that GTT sound horrid, especially the not having a drink for such a long time - sounds far more detrimental than good if you ask me!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 12:52

Sorry Star have missed this about your DH, why is he in hospital?

And you do know if you don't have a wee for 4 hours, it is as good as FMU? Not that I am trying to tempt you or anything

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 12:50

Cor, not had a taxi bar for years and years!

GTT, basically no food or drink for 12 hours before the test (which was the very worst bit, not so much the food but the drink) then you have to go and have some blood taken and drink this god awful stuff which tastes like that stuff the dentist gives you wash your mouth out (it is actually the glucose drink), then wait another 2 hours (which in reality turned into about 4 hours), they take more blood, (to see how the glucose has effected the sugar levels) and then to make you feel better they give you a stale rich tea, and a piddly plastic cup of the most gorgeous warm disgusting tap water you've ever had! And then ask you wait int he reception for half an hour, without another drink or food, incase you faint?!!!!

Was a complete waste of time, and certainly did more harm than good, especially since even if you have GD, they very rarely do anything for it anyway!

Starshinetiger · 08/07/2008 12:47

Afternoon all.
Glask - sorry about DS, no advice, but hope you are getting reassurance from behaviour threads.
Pop - glad to hear you are getting such good care.
Took DH to hospital for 7.30am this morning (yawn!) - rang at 11.30 and they said he was just coming back and to ring back at 1pm - just want it to be over, as I hate him having to go under general anaesthetic. DS been gorgeous all morning - we went shopping in town - I bought bag, shoes and necklace (spendaholic)
Now have the extremely rare luxury of DS being at childminder - didn't want to take him to hospital again when DH will be in pain and groggy - and I am officially on holiday today! Have so much to do, but am on here instead . Someone slap me please - just been on a pregnancy calendar on another site (shhh!) and it has little comments each day from first day of last AF and then today it says "you could be pregnant" - really makes me want to test, but AF not due til Sat - Mon (my cycle a litte irregular - between 26 and 28 days), so I really need someone to tell me to sit on my hands! Anyway, would be no good testing, as would not be FMU.
Right - on with work and then phone hospital.
"See" you later.

Well, as you said I am just going to have to see what she says. I am hoping she will be helpful rather than critise. I don't think I am over 30 but as I haven't touched a scale for a couple of years who knows. I am aware that I don't want to put on that much weight this pg and am actually using it as an excuse to eat healthily. Nothing like knowing there is a life inside you to give you some motivation. As I already have quite a nice fat reserve I really do not need to put much in the way of weight on and I'm hoping that I can control my weight gain. Also not drinking will help with my weight!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 08/07/2008 12:19

Morning Or afternoon actually

Playing, if she does your BMI and it is over 30, she will probably send you for a diabetes test(GTT) further into the pregnancy. I had to have one last time just because of the size of my belly (they assumed big bump = big baby = possible gestational diabetes = bollocks in my mind!) I will be thouroughly pissed off if they try sending me again this time, especially as I only just got weighed for the first time at the AN appointment after the scan (so at 13+4, when I know I am already weighing more than I did) In fact I think I might refuse completely unless they give me another reason other than my BMI at 13+ weeks pregnant, and/or a big bump! I don't mind most tests, I don't shy at blood tests, will pee in a pot for anyone if they ask nicely enough, but I am not doing another GTT unless they give me a bloody good reason for it!

I think Ned is the one for now, the more I say it, the more I like it, and DH agrees - which is about as likely as me having another GTT!

I am liking Dieges exercise routine, I may join in in a bit
