Yesss!!! . Right, bed for me .

GruffaloSoldier · 01/07/2008 22:45

Haha Diege just for a second I was like "whoaaa!"

Diege · 01/07/2008 22:39

Thanks for the advice girls! Just really confirms what I think (ie, stall it for a bit)and maybe have dh with me so that she'll at least seem pleased on the surface.I don't mind false sentiments - would rather that than nasty genuine feelings, as I am such a conflict avoider!
SES, that is such good advice about setting expectations, but I did try something similar when pregnant with dd3, and she started shaking her head and saying, 'oh no, oh no..' before I'd even finished
Gruffalo, oh no not Surrey!!!! I've been there 11 years!!! A big commute but hey I love the place.... Did I get you even for a second???
Right, bed for me, big day tomorrow (Nadal is playing...). Night all, and thanks again, you're such a lovely lot

Ses15 · 01/07/2008 22:27

Gruffalo - Ooooh! Masters and in psychology! I have a friend that did a similar course a few years back and she found it fascinating. She went on to do a PhD! As for me, I don't think I could go back to studying. Finished my degree about 14 years ago (OMG! How old does that make me sound!!!????!) and still have to do CPD to stay on the pharmacist register but don't think I could do anymore than that!

Diege - thank you for your kind words. I'm hoping they come true Sounds like you have a Mum a bit like mine. I often try to set her expectations first. Would it help if you said "I have something to tell you that I'm really happy about and I want you to be happy for me too"??? If not then maybe just go for bluffing it and wearing a smock top!

kayzisexpecting · 01/07/2008 22:27

Exactly Diege!!

I'm also not sure about telling your mum. I knew mine would be happy and ok with it.

GruffaloSoldier · 01/07/2008 22:25

It's ok Diege you're safe! Mine is MSc at Uni of Surrey!

I'm not sure about telling you're mum, although if you are starting to show, she may notice anyway!?

For the record telling my mum is one thing I am not looking forward to doing if I get pg!

Diege · 01/07/2008 22:24

Mine is loverlier (sp?) that yo-urs . At least we are not fighting over the same one

kayzisexpecting · 01/07/2008 22:20

Roll on Sunday!!! He is so lovely!!!

Diege · 01/07/2008 22:13

ooh you fussy lot ...must say Kay that that piccy of Federer (it is Federer isn;t it??? - never seen him looking so good )is pretty impressive, though looks rather 'old man' next to Nadal . Looks like we'll both be watching the final on Sunday then (sorry Andy).
Feeling would you believe it quite nauseous tonight, though it could be a combination of tiredness (bad one last night) and crap food..
SES, glad you seem to be getting back into things at work. You have a great attitude, and I am sure that everything you wish for will come to you soon - you just seem that kind of person! .
Gruffalo, give me a shout if you have any desperate last minute questions re your research methods . Hey you're not a student in my MA research methods class are you , gosh can you imagine after all our talk of goff-ing etc .
Have a bit of a dilemma re: telling mum about my pregnancy. Was going to wait until after 12 weeks scan (at least) as dreading negative comments, but she's only offered to come to the drs with me (booking in apppointment!!) as we're going to pick up the dds from school next week together. Now should I (a) bluff it (have already mentined I have a smear booked )and make sure she's in waiting room while I go to reception etc (think I could get away with it) or (b) come clean???
Another possible issue is that my 'bump' has suddenly popped out quite notieably, though disguised with loose clothes etc...Just don't want the negativity when I'm really looking forward to seeing the midwife etc...
Right, better get on with the blasted packed lunches!!!

GruffaloSoldier · 01/07/2008 21:57

Ses - I am doing a masters degree in Psychology and research methods. Am finishing at the end of July, just got my dissertation to do now but have no motivation at the moment!

I'm afraid none of these tennis players do it for me - but I am very fussy when it comes to my men

kayzisexpecting · 01/07/2008 21:43

He is lovely. Its the best picture I have seen of him too.

Ses15 · 01/07/2008 21:40

Kay - that is the best photo I have seen of him. Sorry to be controversial but definitely makes me prefer him to Nadal!

Gruffalo - hi! What are you studying??? I think I'd be having a rather long break in this heat too!

kayzisexpecting · 01/07/2008 21:30

HELLO!!

Sorry for caps. I am a bit bored!!

Must say the Nadal pics are very vomit inducing nice. Now this man is worth watching tennis for. I do tend to watch every tennis thing when he plays.

I've decided to make a MW appointment and see if I can have this baby at the local hospital as apparently the maternity ward is still open.

Sorry about AF HBJB

GruffaloSoldier · 01/07/2008 21:11

Hi Ses, glad to hear that work is going ok. Quiet tonight isn't it?

I'm supposed to be studying but having a rather long break

Ses15 · 01/07/2008 19:52

Hi! Only back from work half an hour ago!! Busy day but felt much more normal which I guess isn't bad for only 2nd day back!

HBJB - sorry for AF Let us know how you get on with dr.

It seems like you've all had a good day on here. Am v jealous of those of you who have internet access at work !!

lastboxoftampons · 01/07/2008 18:29

lardybump · 01/07/2008 18:18

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/07/2008 18:16

Home made fish cakes, not fingers...!

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/07/2008 18:15

Home made wedges and fish fingers, and peas, followed by smartie ice cream, 100s and 1000s and chocolate sauce - her mum is gonna loveeeee me tonight!!

Will get back to you on the 'great time' thing....! LOL No, they're not being too bad, DS1's tip of a room is now a complete disaster area, and the Wii has taken a hammering, but other than that, no broken bones - so far!

lardybump · 01/07/2008 18:11

Sounds like you are having a great time Nat. Whats for dinner?

OP posts:
NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 01/07/2008 17:51

DS1: "friend, do you know my mums name?"
Friend: "ermmmmmm...... Nat?"
DS1: "Yep"
Friend: "I don't know your Dad's name though"
DS1: "Luh, eh, eh"
Friend: "Lee?"
DS1: "Yep"
Friend: "Is it Lee or Liam?"

She is doomed for a future of MN and the baby names thread

Dinners going down well though, bonus!

lardybump · 01/07/2008 17:32

Night playing. Dinner sounds nice...

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 17:22

Right, I am off home. Got friends coming round for dinner so have to pop to Waitrose and find something to cook. Currently I am considering summer roast chicken with roasted pepper risotto. Might pick a couple of courgettes from the garden to go with it too. Hmm, not sure, will have to potter round the supermarket for inspiration.

Have a nice evening all.

Playingthewaitinggame · 01/07/2008 17:14

Well if I get pg this month (you never know) it will be my turn to feel sick through the hot part of the summer. Hmm, maybe its not such a bad thing if I don't get pg right away!
