I am out this cycle, anyone else want to join? Think I’ll ovulate around 29th June.

Ttc after an mmc and d and c in April, and took May off but think that was an anovulatory cycle anyway. Have a lovely three year old conceived through ivf.

Glad to hear you both had good results. I've been strict with mine saying he needs to lay off his Sunday beers but as time has gone on with definitely become more laissez faire about things!

I know loads of people who have had healthy pregnancies at that age and beyond so I wouldn't worry. My friend had her first at 27 and she said she was a lot younger than most of the people in her NCT class, I think mid to late 30s and beyond is quite the norm now. Especially with the cost of living I think people are wanting to be more secure before having kids.

I am a litter picking POAS addict!! As in I take a test in the morning, squint at it, check it under natural light, magnification, LED lights, get in back out of the bin about 6 times throughout the day to check, take pics, put a filter on it etc. If only my husband knew he'd think I was a lunatic. I took my first test today (9dpo) and pretty sure it was negative as per. Checked my cervix though and it's high and soft and my fitbit has said my RHR has jumped up. I have the older fit bit that doesn't read temp but it does tell you temp variation (which is an average of your temps over the last 30 days and that's gone up slightly as well). Trying not to get my hopes up too much as I'm always convinced I'm pregnant every cycle and then AF comes.

Are you testing early or are you waiting?

Exactly! A good friend of ours has just had their second baby at 42, they had their first at 40, so that definitely gives us hope. I’m just hoping I’ve still got some decent-quality eggs left! 🙈
I’ve actually booked a private scan for next week.

They’re going to check the shape of my uterus and look for things like fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovaries and ovarian cysts, so hopefully that’ll give me a bit more reassurance.

A little bit of POAS! 😂😂 Bless you! I honestly don't have the brain capacity for that – it would stress me out far too much. I just wait for my period. Annoyingly, I get such strong PMS symptoms that I usually know at least two days before she's about to make an appearance, which is so frustrating! Although you always hear stories of women saying they were convinced their period was coming and then it never did... I'm not sure that'll be me though, I'm so in tune with my body!

I don't really understand the whole temperature or cervix tracking side of things. Are either of them actually good indicators? Hopefully you've got a positive on the way! 🤞

And don't worry, TTC makes us all a little bit delulu. 😂 Every month I convince myself I've timed everything perfectly, so surely this has to be the month... and then nothing. That's why I've got to the point where I'm more "oh well" than "what if", if that makes sense!

When are you planning to test next, and when is your period due?

It been nice talking to someone on the exact same journey, and same number of cycles, so thanks 😊

Ditto 💕It helps to talk to people going through the same thing, I don't want to start talking to my friends about it because you get well meaning busy bodies asking for updates and that makes me more stressed out. 😂

Good luck with your private scan and let me know how you get on! I don't do BBT because it's too stressful. I was overanalysing every temp and a slight temp drop after ovulation would ruin my whole day. My fitbit does tell me if my temp goes up or down but it's not an exact temp, just whether it's higher or lower than the last 30 days on average so it's pretty useless for cycle tracking. I probably wouldn't bother cervix tracking either, as I'm finding out it moves around and changes texture all the time as so far it's been pretty meaningless for me 😂Basically, there's plenty of measures for stressing yourself out and overanalsing your body but none of them have much impact on the end result lol.

I'm due on Monday/Tuesday, I took a sensitive test this morning at 11dpo and it was blank negative so pretty sure I'm out. It sounds bad but I'm not really that bothered by negative tests anymore. I had to stop early testing before cause I'd get so worked up but now it doesn't bother me so much, I just like to know where I stand and also that I can have a guilt free glass of wine with my friends tonight. I really think it helps so much that it's summer and there's stuff going on every weekend. I don't know about you but I found it so much harder in winter with fewer distractions.

When are you due on? We had our first GP appt and had tests ordered yesterday so I also feel less pressured knowing that it's kind of out of our hands now and if nothing happens at least we're getting some medical support.

Ha, I know exactly what you mean! Friends of ours have just had their second baby and joked that we've got some catching up to do. They meant well, but it's hard when we're already doing everything we can. It's especially frustrating because we know they struggled to conceive their first and eventually needed IVF themselves.

How are you feeling today? Any sign of your period, and have you done any more tests? It's great that you've managed to get those tests booked, they'll either give you some reassurance or hopefully pick up anything early if there is an issue.

My partner was quite worried about his semen analysis, but I just kept saying we're in this together and we'll deal with whatever life throws at us. Our IVF paperwork arrived last week, which made everything feel very real. We're going to send it off today. In a way, it's reassuring knowing there's a backup plan if we need it.

I'm due on Wednesday or Thursday, which is really bad timing for my scan. If my period arrives, I'll have to reschedule the appointment. 😣 I also have my usual PMS symptoms, bloated and cramping so I think I’m out!

Solidarity here too! Nearly 37 and trying for our first since the start of the year, with aa MMC in April added in. Vastly trying to not become obsessed with it and overthink!

Hey! I totally missed this. I'm so sorry to hear about your MMC. How are you getting on now? And what cycle are you on?

For the first few months I was completely obsessed, Googling and overthinking every little symptom, so you're definitely not alone. 😅

It's such a hard process, but I've realised I just have to be patient. Even if you do everything "right", there's still no guarantee it'll happen that month. In so many ways, it's just the luck of the draw.

For sure, trying to keep that positive mental attitude! AF arrived for me yesterday so that’s me starting cycle 4 after my MMC. I’m coping ok but I think the sense of lost time is tough, knowing that I was so close but am back to the endless cycle of trying. Above anything else I’m having to relearn patience, and to trust the process!
