Sorry you’re still in limbo @DancingThroughLife02 my understanding is that after implantation is takes a good few days for the hormones to build up enough to show on a test

censor22 · 06/05/2026 13:28

AF arrived for me today so I’m having a sad day and then moving on! Wishing you all the best luck, hope to see some positives. Onto May/June for me, I’ve ordered some ovulation sticks to get a bit more specific x

Buttercup30 · 06/05/2026 12:26

anyone on 8DPO? I have been in such a foul mood from last night to today I’m not sure if it’s also a little anxiety from testing. Like I said before this is our first time TTC in over a year after a MM 2024 and CM 2025. You quickly forget the emotions you go through on this journey 🤦‍♀️🫠🥲

DancingThroughLife02 · 06/05/2026 08:29

I didn’t end up testing last night as I got a tiny amount of pink discharge when I wiped - I thought it was the period starting but still hasn’t arrived so I have no idea what to think now - CD34 so at least 2 days late still with very sore boobs. I’ve got a gynaecology appointment tomorrow for my endo, just wondering if a BFP might show up by then on the off chance that it was implantation spotting yesterday..?

Yes, I do use Lh tests. Though I have PCOS so never know when I’m going to ovulate even without the added complication of breastfeeding 😂 so the tests are very necessary! It’s not easy finding time to dtd as my DD still doesn’t sleep very well!

Mine cosleeps but thankfully pram naps! So we’re DTD at odd times like DH lunch break but we’re managing every day (as tracking so confusing)

HelloDarknessmyoldfrenemy · 05/05/2026 10:29

Did you start fertility investigations last time or did you fall pregnant just before? I’d definitely try and see your GP, especially with it taking so long last time. Maybe fudge slightly how long you’ve been trying? And definitely mention the irregular cycles as that should prompt them to investigate further?

I know, it’s so frustrating looking at my tracker app and seeing all the times we dtd at the right time and still nothing happen!! Why?? Is it the uterine lining? Something to do with my EMCSs? My PCOS and so not ovulating? Bad eggs? Bad sperm? Low progesterone and so not able to support a pregnancy? Why????

Hope you are feeling slightly better today x

No we actually said if we hadn’t fallen pregnant that month we were going to go! I can’t fudge it as I had the coil so they’ll know when that was removed 😩 but thyroid issues run in my family so I’m going to push on that to get checked as in the last few months I’ve had odd symptoms like my eyebrow hair thinning out in a patch, my skin being drier and my cycles including the CP! So I’m going to push on that!

yeah I know it’s so frustrating as we do everything right and it never happens!! I guess it could be male factor? I think if I come back normal we’ll keep going for a bit longer before we explore that! Maybe peace of mind it’s not me it might help!

I am thank you! Work was a good distraction too!!

how’s your cycle going? X

Ah thank you! Did you LH test? I’m really struggling with not knowing if I haven’t ovulated yet or if I’m not going to at all this month

Hi all - joining as we're just starting TTC #2.

DS is 3 in August and it took three months of trying last time.

Sort of forgotten what approach we took last time but I think I probably ovulate in a couple of days time. We're dtd every other day atm. Fingers crossed!

@HappyBlueDonkey I got pregnant with my second fist cycle TTc at 12 months PP and I was breastfeeding loads. So it does happen! Definitely give it some time.

Still breastfeeding my second now too, though only really at night 😊

Sorry for your losses @Buttercup30 , sounds like you're in a really positive place now though, wishing lots of luck 😊

Buttercup30 · 05/05/2026 15:28

First cycle back TTC after 1 year break MMC back in August 2024 (Really took a toll on my mental health) and then a Chemical in Feb 2025. Now in our new home, exercising and eating well and just mentally ready for the TTC journey ahead. Currently 7DPO and dying to test but I wont! My Husbands Birthday is Friday and I will be 10 DPO would be a beautiful gift for him 😍

Aww let us know @DancingThroughLife02 the metallic taste is a positive sign! When will you test again?

Hi @censor22 I’m thinking of getting some tests after work today and doing them after a hold. I’m not very hopeful as it’s happened before where I’ve got certain symptoms and it’s been nothing but the metallic taste is new and there seems to be no sign of my period, if it’s negative I’ll do one more with first morning urine and then wait for AF.

I am feeling very PMSy hormone wise, also trying not to get my hopes up 😬

I didn't TTC til I stopped breastfeeding but from my period returning to stopping feeding, around 6-20 months, my cycle lengths were all over the place so it could definitely have an impact. How old is your little one? Do you think you might stop in the near future?

Just turned 11 months, had no plans to stop but I guess that may change if I don’t get pregnant in the next few cycles

I’d love to join if that’s okay, TTC no.2 but only had one period pp and I’m breastfeeding. CD20 today and my body tried to ovulate last Thursday but I think failed. Feeling like my body is failing me and just a bit confused. Last month I had 3 peaks before I finally ovulated

Thank you ❤️ if it wasn’t for this thread I’d be feeling so alone! We took 13 months with our DD and I know 6 months is nothing but it’s just frustrating when we don’t know why! I think I’m struggling a lot as the same month my friends announced was the month of our CP, so now I look at them heavily pregnant and think I should only be 3 months behind you. It just wasn’t meant to be!

I know what you mean about age gaps too! My DD is showing all signs of needing a sibling too and I just feel like we are trying but not succeeding!

I’ve been thinking about going to the GP a lot today, I just don’t want to be brushed off? My cycle irregularities are settling down but since my CP my luteal phase is only 11 days long and I’m worried all of what’s happened could be like a thyroid thing or something as that runs in my family? Maybe it’s worth a visit! I’ve heard that they don’t do like in-depth thyroid testing though!

Hi all,

Just wanted to jump on as ttc in June. We haven’t been as careful this month however and my dates have been a bit all over the place. I am on day 32 of cycle but have this constant bitter/metallic taste that is fine in the morning or after eating but quite strong at other times. I also have really sore boobs but I took a test 3 days ago which was negative.

I normally do have 31-32 day cycles so I’m wondering if I tested too early but any thoughts/has anyone had these symptoms and not been pregnant?

Would be super excited to get BFP 🥺

She arrived bang on time on Monday morning!! On to cycle 8 this month ☺️

@Kathi154 yes, after I stopped bleeding. Basically as if it was just a period.

Thank you that’s really helpful to know! I’ll keep tracking and keep my fingers crossed.

Yeah! The thing is I’m 30 and DH is 32 so we are below in age for the 6 month threshold with nhs and I’m not sure if they’ll bat me off until we hit 12 months? I could pay for some private initial tests and then if they show anything go back to the GP!

No you can get these investigations done by the GP, I think it's fair if your cycles are irregular. Having these investigations is different to a fertility clinic referral. That said you're very young and the stats are in your favour :) so you/gp may wish you try for longer first. Hope it happens for you asap.

Glittertint · 04/05/2026 19:39

Bluehouse14 · 04/05/2026 18:19

So tough, hope you're doing okay. It's very reasonable to get blood tests. Youll just need the basic thyroid profile to begin with as well as an FSH/LH/prolactin/testosterone. Do these on day 2-5 of your period. You need a mid luteal progesterone blood test 7 days before your expected period. Also request a pelvic ultrasound. If you are over 36, you only need to try for 6 months before automatically getting a referral to fertility clinic or at any age if there's a known cause for fertility problems eg pcos. Your partner should also get a semen analysis.
I think a 10 day+ luteal phase is considered normal so you are just on the cusp.
