Hi

Not really sure what I'm looking for here but if nothing else I'll use this as a diary of my feelings etc. I joined a chat years ago for my first pregnancy and am still friends with some of those lovely ladies so hoping to find some people who are on their TTC journey and we can share experiences l.

As the title suggests I'm 42, I have two beautiful children aged 7 and 9, we decided to try for another baby a year or so again, I needed to lose some weight so did that although I'm still overweight according to my BMI but you know how it is... I'm fairly average at a size 14-16. I still have very regular cycles and don't believe I'm anywhere near the menopause yet....

Anyways, I'm 9dpo I think, I don't do opk or anything like that, tried one month but didn't enjoy feeling obsessed over it and it didn't work anyway..I feel I know my body quite well and am aware of the signs of when I'm ovulating if I am. With our first child it took a good 2 years with one chemical pregnancy in that time before.ewe actually got our baby. With our second child...well we thought about trying and then I was pregnant... Amazing how that happens isn't it!?

So here I am, 9dpo and with virtually no discharge at all. 2 days ago I had a huge amount of white cm that was abit stretchy. I've had a headache on and off and been soooo unbelievably emotional. This isn't normal for me but we are going through quite a bit with our youngest and other normal life events so may be that I suppose. I've had sore breasts and I swear they are bigger if that is even possible!.maybe just very slight cramps over the past couple of days but that maybe only.when I'm thinking about it...

Anyone else at this stage and fancy a buddy to compare notes? I'd love to chat.

Morning all, Just popping on to record my symptoms I'm supposed to be 7dpo now but maybe 6... Feeling a tiny bit crampy but the most noticeable thing is (sorry if you) completely dry cm. This is very unusual for me at this point so I wanted to log it. I remember when I had my children both times I was stunned when I got the bfp as though I'd had zero symptoms but maybe this is one for me...

I have a 9yo. Partner doesn’t have any

FiB83 · 14/03/2026 23:03

@TheFutureIs welcome to our thread, hoping it's lucky for you! Just remember it only takes once! Even if the odds are against us. I'm so sorry for your losses, it's so hard! Do you have any children? I think we are virtually the same, I've deliberately not bought any cheapies as I don't think they've ever been accurate for me so I can't test until I buy some!

@Sa11yCinnamon ewcm is a positive th as t your body is getting ready to ovulate so keep going!

Joining the chat. I’m 43, had a mmc in Sept last year closely followed by a chemical and an early miscarriage
I’m at 5dpo at the moment. Did get the highest LH peak this month. But DP was poorly so didn’t dtd as much as we’d have liked. I’m going to try to hold out until next weekend for peeing on sticks

Sa11yCinnamon · 14/03/2026 16:14

@FiB83no not really. Maybe a bit of EWCM but I don’t feel like I’m clued up enough on that. I’ll see what happens with my temperature in the next few days but again I don’t really understand it yet.

FiB83 · 14/03/2026 15:44

@Sa11yCinnamon any other signs though? This is why I don't like opks it can be missed.

What makes you think this? Are your cycles regular? I thought if they were regular then that's a good sign... Maybe I'm wrong
Have you had any investigations so far?

They’ve been fairly regular but my last one was only 17 days which really threw me. I got to 0.75 on an OPK yesterday and it’s dropped again today so no peak, unless I missed it. DTD yesterday and today but I’m not holding out much hope! No investigations so far.

Sa11yCinnamon · 14/03/2026 12:54

I’m feeling meh, I don’t think I’m ovulating this month.

When I’m officially out I think I’m going to book a scan to see if I actually have any eggs left.

Thanks everyone for the kind messages. This is today at 12/13dpo (pic taken in my bag as I’ve brought it work to look at it!!) and it’s a good line - I think the lesson is not to use Clearblue!

So I’m feeling ok for now but day by day.

That’s a great line, keeping everything crossed for you!

@DmcinT she goes to a mini farm twice a week for animal therapy, the school have messed her up tbh, at Christmas she wrote me a note asking if I thought she should exist...that was the point where I decided she wasn't going to go if they made her feel like that. My oldest is 9 almost 10 and struggling with everything on top of what I assume is hormone changes.

My youngest is the. With me one day extra a week and we do things like reading, looking after nana who has dementia or walking out etc. it's very challenging. Might be another reason we aren't getting pregnancy tbh but I can't really make changes..on top of all this I'm trying to sell a flat with an incompetent solicitor acting for our buyer. It's taken weeks and weeks. We were meant to complete on 27/2 but she keeps delaying . I'm on the edge!

@DmcinT this is my first cycle actually testing, I wasn't going to start but I doubt I ovulated at all last month so want to be sure.

Just tested and it's still low but finally increasing so I'm feeling slightly more hopeful!

DmcinT · 13/03/2026 10:26

@FiB83 thats alot of extra stress, hope ur doing ok, what ages are ur kids? I work with kids with autism and the supports you can get once you have a diagnosis are really good so hopefully that will help you. Is s/he at home with you the other days and ur trying to work around it all?

@Sa11yCinnamon when do u usually O or does it change a bit each month?

I am having these funny wee popping sensations in my lower tummy today 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m only 5 dpo so couldn’t be anything hcg related yet

Sa11yCinnamon · 13/03/2026 10:06

@FiB83that sounds really tough! 💐

I’m on CD12, haven’t done my OPK yet but they’ve all been super low so far so feeling like there’s no point.

FiB83 · 13/03/2026 09:47

Morning all, how is everyone feeling? @BurningOutt how are you getting on?

I'm having a big stressful time ATM just home life stuff and trying to work as well, pre teen doing what they do and navigating a child who is awaiting autism assessment and does school only 2 days a week

@BurningOuttcongratulations! That's great, I really hope this is the one 🙏 will keep everything crossed for you x

@FlapJackeredughh I honestly feel this. We have SUCH issues when it comes to dtd over fertile window. I try not to let him know...then its never an issue but he works shifts so with that and having our toddler running about..I need to tell him it needs to be done before he goes off on a nightshift ! We always make it work in the end but it is beyond stressful and not natural at all.

@FightingTimeyes ubiquinol is the one to help with quality of the eggs! You want to be taking between 400-600mg a day but space them out into 200mg at a time x

Feeling really meh today 😕 just wish this journey was easier. So many pregnant people around me and it just hurts x

Sa11yCinnamon · 12/03/2026 12:49

@DmcinT I'd been ready for a while but decided to stop when we were going away and he was staying with my parents for two nights, then his dad did bedtime for a week or so - he's always been fine going down if I'm away. The first night I did bedtime and didn't feed him he was a wee bit upset but after that, absolutely fine - I read him a couple of stories, give him a cuddle then put him down.

DmcinT · 12/03/2026 12:44

@Sa11yCinnamon well done, it’s not easy getting to 20 months, such an achievement. We are at 2 and a bit years now and like that it’s mostly at bedtime/overnight but I’m at the stage of how do I stop, she loses her life if I try to tell her it’s sleeping or later etc 🫣 how did you go about stopping if u don’t mind me asking

Sa11yCinnamon · 12/03/2026 12:40

@DmcinT yeah my period came back after around 6 months and I breastfed til 20. I was only feeding at bedtime by the end so it's unlikely but I read that it would still stimulate prolactin overnight, which has a stronger effect than during the day, and tbh I have to cling on to any hope that it's not all over for me.

DmcinT · 12/03/2026 12:28

@Sa11yCinnamon welcome 🤗
had ur period returned before u stopped breastfeeding? I am still breastfeeding and wondering if it’s affecting our chances. I don’t really want it to be the reason we stop but might have to accept it and try weaning her off

Sa11yCinnamon · 12/03/2026 12:23

I've been reading this thread and thought I'd commented, but turns out I hadn't!

I'm 41 and trying for my second. My son was a happy accident so I may have been a bit naive in hoping it'd be straightforward again. Only on my second cycle of trying but first cycle totally threw me by only being 18 days long 😬 I only stopped breastfeeding last month so praying that's a factor and I'm not just hurtling into peri...

Taking every supplement I've seen recommended (must be rattling!), using OPKs and just started temping today.

@BurningOutt congratulations on your BFP and I really hope it sticks, I know the anxiety will be tough to handle xx

DmcinT · 12/03/2026 11:45

@BurningOutt i wouldn’t worry about the darkness of line at this point as hydration, what you’ve eaten, time of day etc can all have such an impact so early on.
Will u go for an early scan? Have you been to go yet?

@FiB83 same with the symptom list, it’s nice to have a wee record of it to look back on! I’ve flu like symptoms also actually, just runny nose and sore throat.
