charliesmum, nandos, beakas, sugr, cornflower, poppy, becky and everyone else who miscarried in may/june 2008....

We have all been very brave together and supported eachother. For those of us that are ready, it may be time to support eachother again as we return to TTC. Lets hold hands, remember our loss and give a nod to the future as we endeavour to procreate and............

Happy New Year!!!!! Sounds like you all had a good time last night, and M2O your pics are brill. I am loving the karate kick - you look very athletic! I couldn't kick that high if I was lifted...

Gotta be quick as just got in from SIL's b'day afternoon, and it's way past Charlie's bedtime. He's just eating his supper while I type this, so the floor'll probably be covered by the time I turn around

Becky That's fab news re +ve OV! get shagging girl!

Ooohhh 2009 is going to be an exciting year, I can feel it!!!

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/01/2009 19:37

Ooooh just had a positive OV test! I haven't had a positive since before my MC. Guess what DH and I are going to be doing tonight despite hangovers and he is also coming down with a cold!

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/01/2009 16:13

Ahhhh feel delicate today! I'm just looking at your photos on FB right now m2o!

Had a great evening though except for DS2 throwing up just before I put him to bed so I worried about him all evening, although he was fine!

I'm not used to the old vino either. I had much more than I am used to so feel well spacey today.

Hope you all had a great time. I silently toasted you all at 11 and 12!

poppy27 · 01/01/2009 14:47

M2O know the delicate feeling today having almost gave up drink in the ttc crusade it doesn't really agree with me now (I'm a bloomin lightweight) and had to go back to bed for a wee lie down (cringe). Ok now though and getting ready to go to parents for traditional new years day dinner of steak pie!!!

monkeybumsmum · 31/12/2008 21:00

Oops, spelt relegated wrong

monkeybumsmum · 31/12/2008 20:58

Ooohhh Poppy your poor friend, what an awful time for the heating to go. Landlords are rubbish aren't they... Have they got electric heaters or anything to use in the meantime?

Only reason we're poshing it up is coz my dad, bless him, bought us a bottle of champagne to share with everyone on Christmas day, and coz M's dad bought some champagne on Xmas day we managed to squirrel this one away without it being noticed Hooray!!!!!

Have been relagated to the kitchen while The Worlds Strongest Man is on so am doing a tidy up too. When did we grow up? I remember the time when me and my friends would go out and have snogging competitions on NYE at lovely balls! Ooohhh those were the days............... Will just have to snog dh instead

Happy New Year again - I'm off to get drunk

poppy27 · 31/12/2008 20:37

Just getting ds ready for bed before the usual mass tidy up !!!!

Had my friend and her son round this afternoon and they stayed for tea. She is having a shitty time as her heating packed in before xmas and the part to fix it will not be in before jan 5th so it's very chilly for them and the lanlord has been useless at getting things moving! Well seen it's not them freezing their butts off.

MBM you are posh with the champers - we are slumming it with cava tonight. .

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

XXX

monkeybumsmum · 31/12/2008 20:06

Heres to a happy 2009 [chink] oops- not yet!!

OP posts:
monkeybumsmum · 31/12/2008 15:57

Oh Poppy Big hug from me too xxx It's just horrible having to go through this.

Becky You're right, I hadn't even thought of that . Midnight for me will be 11pm with you guys, but as always M and I shall see in both NY's, well that's the aim anyway. With a bottle of champagne, PLUS (I've been told) a nice bottle of red I think I may conk out beforehand . No, seriously, I WILL still be awake and toasting you girls at midnight. So glad you like the idea

Am feeling a bit sick now - have just licked two mixer things of choccy cake mixture, plus the bowl and the spatula. Think it may be the smallest cake in history given the amount that I accidently left out. Oops

Hope M2O and Nandos see this thread before midnight - it would be fab to know that all of us are toasting at the same time Ooohh maybe it'll bring us luck for next year

BeckyBendyLegs · 31/12/2008 15:44

Oh mbm that's a lovely idea. I will definitely toast you and everyone else but are you an hour ahead or behind us? Do we need to toast you at the right time?

I can't believe it's been 8 months since we were all on that December thread and one by one sadly had to drop off. So sad. It is heartbreaking to remember those times. But think positive. 2009 might be our year for change.

I cry at New Year too every year, or fall out with everyone and get the grump. I really don't like it. I've started a thread on the Christmas 08 page about it! There are lots of us bahhhh New Year humbugs about!

Poppy have a big hug from me for today .

I've found this thread so valuable and making friends with you guys. It has really kept me going, through the MC and then through the months as they have passed for us with the ups and downs along the way. I really really wish you all a wonderful 2009.

Happy New Year

poppy27 · 31/12/2008 11:33

Oh MBM don't cry you will set me off and I am bad at the best of times .

I had a really bad day yesterday and was really grumpy as today would have been my due date for the mc in april. Felt so much more real than the previous mc as we had seen hb etc at hosp so just felt on a huge downer. BUT onwards and upwards.

Think it is a great idea for a little toast to "us" at midnight as I honestly don't know where I would have been without you all. People in RL are sympathetic for so long and then they have there own crosses to bear and as time goes on they prob think we are "better" so it has been good to have you guys to share the ups and downs with.

Hope 2009 is our year and there are lots of bumps to look forward to (baby of course). Funny how we met on such a depressing thread but it becomes like a lifeline at times!

Here's to us . xxxxx

monkeybumsmum · 31/12/2008 10:43

Hee hee NYE Scrooge We are doing nothing, hurray! I am normally an emotional wreck anyway on NYE, saying goodbye to the past year and looking forward and imagining what'll happen in the next etc... I spend most NYE's in tears! I thought I would find this one beyond 'emotional' given the year that we've had, so we have declined all invitations (which I feel a bit guilty about ) and are going to sit in and eat. Oh, and cry . We do have a lovely bottle of champers with which to drown our sorrows though! Can't be too bad...

I think (or rather, I would love it) if maybe we could all have a little secret toast to each other come midnight? I've loved being on this thread with you all, despite the reason for us having met. I really don't know what I would have done without you all, and you've helped even when you don't know it. Thank you so much for all the words of support since May. It seems such a long time since 'meeting' doesn't it. Oh god, the tears have started.....

Girls, I wish you all the happiest, happiest 2009 possible. Here's to all our dreams coming true!!! Lots of love to you all xxx

BeckyBendyLegs · 31/12/2008 10:27

What are you all doing for New Year's Eve? We are having some friends come over and DH is cooking a Japanese feast but I am such a New Year's Eve scrooge I'd rather just go to bed... I really, really do not like New Year's Eve at all. Bah misery guts!

BeckyBendyLegs · 29/12/2008 22:05

I loved reading all these posts! You are all lovely and funny!

I'm sending you all some of our chocs. Here...CATCH! Quick! And some sausage stuffing! Splat!

I agree with m2o that is a lovely, lovely present mbm.

Nandos it is great to hear from you and let us know if you get on FB!

I'm sure this next year will be good for all of us. Lots of positive thinking and relaxation I think is in order.

mummy2olivia · 29/12/2008 21:42

Oh MBM, I think that is just the most gorgeous present ever! makes me feel very happy and sad all at the same time We have our angel on a high shelf looking down on us. Your DH sounds as gorge as mine- shall we start an appreciation society??!!

As for TTC again- you have no reason to think it will go wrong again- I will repeat myself here for sure but here it goes- you need to take steps now to protect yourselves- vits, excercise, lots of rest, positive visualisation, get your body and mind READY for another pregnancy. Please look after yourself and when the time comes you will feel so much better and it WILL go right

OP posts:
monkeybumsmum · 29/12/2008 21:01

M2O you're not self-absorbed!!! It's lovely to get lots of details about you and how you're feeling, I feel like I get to know you better .
Poor you re Salmon (LOL!!!) going away. (Olivia sounds like she was very, very cute btw). After Marcus (dh) going away to Nepal in October I can say that it will be a good thing. Yes, you will miss him dreadfully, but you will also realise that you can do things that you would normally rely on him for, AND you will be so proud of yourself for having managed when he comes home! I think it's a good thing for any relationship to have a bit of time apart. It took me back to when we first started going out and I got butterflies in my tummy all over again .

By the way, I have been in Belgium 6 YEARS TODAY!! Can you believe it! The time has flown by... It seems like y'day that I drove all the way over here, with an 8 week old puppy for company (and my dad). Also realised that I met Marcus ten years ago on New Years Eve! I still feel about 18 - how did this happen?

Nandos Am sending you some special Pierre Marcolini Belgian Chocs for your low bp They have to be the best in the world! M's dad bought some over for Christmas day and I saw the receipt - £35 for a small box! Ow! (But more importantly YUM.........) M2O you can have some too! (I'm afraid I have a confession to make here. After my last mc Marcus bought me a box of them and I finished them in 2 days . Think I deserved them really...)

Anyway, I forgot to tell you what M bought me for Christmas. Amongst other things, he handed me a box and then squeezed me tight. I opened it, and inside were two gorgeous white porcelain angels. Obviously I started crying... I can't believe that he was so thoughtful. I had actually seen them in a shop a few weeks before, and it had made me cry then too - I told him about it in passing but never expected him to remember. Apparently it took him ages to locate the shop. I've put them on top of the bookcase in the dining room so they can look down on us...

Righty ho, am supposed to be making M a coffee, bet he's wondering where I've got to! Hope you are all having a good evening - see you tomorrow!

ps Have just written on another thread about this, but am worried because I am just SO excited about ttc again. Think it's getting a bit out of control - it's almost all I can think about. What shall I do to calm myself down? I know that it may all go wrong again next time, I just can't seem to help it

nandos · 29/12/2008 20:30

sheesh, i havent finished what i wanna say and i dont know why i clicked the 'post' button. sry..

how did your holidays went? did u all go for the boxing day sale? we went yesterday and bought a few things. my mom wanted a sports shoes so i bought a pair for her at a bargain
we are also going to have a new yr's eve party at our house..well a friend suggested we host the party (no choice) and that each family have to bring/cook 2 dishes(no choice) and they still dont know im pregnant so im having a tough time holding any party. the last party was during christmas eve when they asked to bring roast chicken n a desert and dh end up cooking the roast chicken n me just helping him.. puking so bad that time

am going now to watch dh play his ps3 game so will catch up with you all later k

mummy2olivia · 29/12/2008 20:26

Have just re-read that- I am totally self absorbed!

hello everyone
missed you all (big big hugs)
sorry just managed to post after a long time.. am feeling better at the moment thx for asking..
right..now where did i stop? re the facebook, my dh just joined a couple of weeks ago n hes looking at it nonstop and adding plenty of friends. as for me, am thinking abt it already have friendster and so far not many friends there cos' most dont have friendster and secondly i dont have any pictures and profile lol. i just think its for safety reason? call me old fashion or freak lol but im so scared of uploading pics ..although dh's profile have loads of pic of me
oh btw becky pass some of the chocs to me too cos' i think im suffering from low bp or something..have fainting spells at times..
re your qn, i guess im abt 9+ weeks at the moment..i dont know exactly how many wks. my mom told me just to count in months from the last date of menses and my lmp is 24th oct so its just over 2mths..

mummy2olivia · 29/12/2008 20:22

Back to work today!! BOOOOOO!!! Thought I was going to be having a week off next week because my mum was having an operation tomorrow (for a bladder prolapse) and I applied for carers leave from work and bugger me......they have gone and cancelled the bloody operation cos of a bed shortage!! So I'm not having a week off next week now. Was really looking forward to it because Mum was going to stay at ours and was going to look after her and everything. She hasn't even been given a new date for the operation which is really pants.

AND my gorgeous lovely sexy husband is going away this Sunday for TWO whole weeks with work. Am mightily cheesed off cos he is away for when I lay my egg! Bollocks! Will really miss him- am really shit when he isnt here and I'm really scared of sleeping on my own (I sound like a right baby!). I am a right grumpy cow too. But my mum has said tonight that she will stay over at night time so that I am not alone and she will help out with Olivia . Its really crappy getting in from work late and doing dinner, washing and getting Liv to bed then getting up at 6 to get the bus to work in the dark (wish I'd passed my test by now!)- I know a lot of women do it day in day out with no help (hell- I did it for a year with a baby after I left Livs dad PLUS breastfeeding!) but since I met GH (gorgeous husband) I've turned into a real princess and cant do much without help To be honest it will probably do us good- absence does make the heart grow fonder and since the MC we have become extremely reliant on eachother emotionally so I think we do need the break from eachother. And he definitely has drawn the short straw- hes going to Chicago where it is MINUS 20!! HA HA!!

And just to tease me- my fucking period was 4 days late! I started to take agnus castus and added 3 days onto my LP as well as ovulating late and I didnt spot in the build up to the blob- I just came on! I never do that- I normally have 4 days of 'marmite wipes' before my period but I didnt get this at all! Am VERY impressed so will stick with it. YAY ME! Didnt stop me doing about 5 tests though!

I'm trying very very hard to be positive about TTC- if you hear me saying 'it will never happen' or I start wallowing in self pity- please tell me off, I need it. I was whinging to DH the other day that it was dead on 2 years since I had my coil out. To make me feel better he sat and worked out how many months we actually have tried for- so taking out summer 2007 cos didnt want to be mega pregnant for wedding in December 2007 and 5 months on the pill and a couple of months when he has been away and the MC- we have only actually tried for 12 months and the average is 18 months. And also coupled with his OK (but a little lazy if you ask me!) sperm test and my possible endo, it seems that we may have done ok to manage 1 pregnancy! He made me feel loads better. My mantra has got to be IT WILL HAPPEN!!!!

Anyway- enough about me! (god I do go on!)

poppy you definitely need to join Facebook! you can never be too old to join- please join! please! please be our friend on there! please?

nandos where are you? hope you are ok

MBM and becky am bit jealous of you pair sharing chocolates but can I please bagsy the leftover sausage stuffing? Sounds yummy!!

And talking of Babys talking- I met simon when Olivia was 1 and she used to call him 'salmon'! I was watching a video we had made of her at nursery the other day and it was so sweet- she was only 2 and she was asking the nursery nurse for 'salmon' to come and 'det' her in the 'tar'. The nursery nurse couldnt understand her but when I heard it I knew what she was saying and it made me cry to think how much she loved simon already- bless her!!

Love to all!!

xxxx
