Cycle day 1 for me 😞my cycle was 36 days this month, really hoping I can get back to being more regular moving into this year.

had my first appointment with the recurrent loss clinic on the 2nd Jan, I’m not feeling hugely positive about it as the consultant who called me was the same lady who managed my ectopic pregnancy last January, at the time she was not hugely empathetic and also gave me quite key incorrect and conflicting Info. For example, my last appointment with her when my ectopic was finally resolved, she told me I could start trying again straight away, even though I had been treated with Methotrexate and not waiting 3 months can cause all sorts of issues with a healthy baby. She was the one who had given me the methotrexate, so it was just a case of her not even paying attention - the sonographer who was doing my scan had to jump in and say, no actually she has to wait 3 months (thank god she was there!!) 😕

Anyway, hopefully I will end up having actual tests and a follow up with a different consultant and get some answers eventually x

Dollybird89 · 09/01/2026 14:03

Hey, hope it's OK to jump in here.. was on the ttc bus back in 2022 but left due to constant disappointment and needing to work on myself... Still a work in progress and no further along in my ttc journey with the exception of random cravings since yesterday and extreme fatigue for the last week... awaiting new tests arriving in the post Monday

Esssa · 08/01/2026 22:32

I'm also 10dpo and pretty sure I'm out. Tested stark negative this morning. Will test again tomorrow and if it's not even a squinter I'll know for sure. And after all the Christmas holiday sex too. I've got that confused how many cycles this is but I know I spent about 20 weeks pregnant last year and have nothing to show for it. Feeling defeated tbh and like it just won't happen. Didn't stop me wrapping a blanket for under the tree in hope though. Warm blankety feelings to all that need them today.

daisy2025 · 08/01/2026 13:03

Thank you @Taysonic @ttcnumerodos @LuckyDuck93 🫶🏼
This journey is hard enough without beating ourselves up further

I spoke to the fertility clinic and they said you can get your period on cyclogest as it doesn’t stop it, but it could be implantation bleeding as they’ve seen heavier bleeds in some people that go on to get a positive test. She didn’t want to get my hopes up but said to stay on it until Saturday and if it’s negative, I can stop then.

My AMH is quite low for my age so I know I need to keep on going. I’ve requested cyclogest from my GP for next cycle so I’m prepared. Going to try soy isoflavones again and drink pomegranate juice everyday instead of just in my luteal phase to help with the lining.

@ttcnumerodos sorry you’re feeling rubbish, defo keep on at the clinic. I always think to myself that no one cares as much as we do so you have to keep pressing them! That’s great about b6 extending it by a few days and it’s something you can easily get ahold of too

@LuckyDuck93 I did lots of cleaning, organising (and buying new things 😅) to pass the time and tbf it did work! Fingers crossed for you this cycle 🤞🏼

LuckyDuck93 · 08/01/2026 12:51

@daisy2025 no shame in getting your hopes up at all, we've all been there! I've got low estrogen and am basically pinning my hopes on fertility team giving me that and it solving all my problems, I don't think you'd be human if you weren't hopeful about something you wanted so badly!
@ttcnumerodos sending love, you must be exhausted from second guessing every month!

Hope everyone else is doing ok, 4dpo for me today, anyone know how I can speed up time? Asking for a friend 👀

ttcnumerodos · 08/01/2026 11:25

It feels harder when you've made all the plans in your head @daisy2025, sending big hugs and hope you get some answers from your appointment.

I'm out today at 11dpo. I had been symptom spotting and had high hopes but AF has arrived with it's usual horrible GI symptoms and I feel dreadful. Going to call the fertility nurse today to chase my blood results and see if I can get prescribed progesterone. Although I started taking vitamin B6 last month and that seems to have already added a couple of days to my luteal phase.

Also have the slight complication of when I caught in Feb, I didn't even test as thought it was AF. I only tested when my LH strips were insanely high early in the next cycle. So every time AF is here I think....what if...?

Very much in the feeling deflated and a bit heartbroken club today, going to lean into it and hopefully bounce back tomorrow xx

daisy2025 · 08/01/2026 09:16

Hi ladies, 10dpo for me today and feeling very deflated. This was the first cycle trying cyclogest for pre period spotting and to help lengthen my luteal phase, but sadly I’ve had my normal spotting from 8dpo and today it’s resembling a very light period, despite still being on progesterone.

The fertility clinic said it sounds like breakthrough bleeding and asked me to call them today with an update. Part of me just wants to stop the cyclogest now so my period can come and I can move onto the next cycle. Thankfully I have an appointment with the fertility clinic next month where they may be able to suggest something else.

So gutted to be going into cycle 16.. if we had conceived this cycle, we’d have had my 12 week scan on my husbands 30th birthday week and been able to tell all our family that weekend at a surprise meal I’ve arranged for him 🥲 Feel silly for pinning my hopes on this solving my issues

Do not feel silly. I know we all say that to ourselves and berate ourselves for getting our hopes up, for future planning and for pinning hopes and dreams on specific dates. I do it ALL the time. But that's natural and shows how much this is wanted and planned for and how important it is to you. I know ultimately it feels like it hurts so much more when those dreams don't come to fruition but beating yourself up about it isn't going to help.

I'm not really familiar with cyclogest and it's impact but don't give up. Is there a chance it might need some time to build up and may not have the desired impact straight away? Might there be other factors in play that might have counteracted the cyclogest? Our bodies are mysterious things and our cycles definitely are impacted by so many things.

Utardelis · 07/01/2026 14:21

@Janey3090 @LuckyDuck93 @ttcnumerodos thank you so much 🙏
hopefully I see a bit more progression by the end of the week and if so going to put the sticks down 🤣

Janey3090 · 07/01/2026 13:56

I can see a difference @Utardelis , and remember HCG doubles every 48 hours, so if you look at it from your first test that's a big change from 9-12DPO. Congratulations!

CD7 for me and my third month on letrozole, so expecting my positive ovulation test mid/late next week. Finally feeling stronger after the upset of not being pregnant at Christmas, and hoping that the New Year finally brings some luck! x

ttcnumerodos · 07/01/2026 12:37

Also not an expert @Utardelisbut looks darker today! Congratulations ✨

10dpo and bfn here. Feels like AF is about to arrive any minute. I've started taking vitamin B6 in the hope it extends my luteal phase so I suppose I should be happy it's added a couple of days from last month!

LuckyDuck93 · 07/01/2026 11:21

@Utardelis im not an expert on tests but didnt want to read & run..to my eyes there definitely quite a change between yesterday and today 😊

Utardelis · 07/01/2026 07:01

Hi all
I’m 12dpo today and started with the glimmer of a line on 9dpo
this is my first positive since a MMC so my anxiety is through the roof although I know no amount of worrying is going to change the outcome
I’ve attached pictures of todays test 12dpo and my others
Are these looking okay for this stage? I don’t feel like theres much change from yesterday and thats panicked me this morning

@Fullofconfusion its funny I very rarely test, usually going with the mindset that i'll wait for af as I don't want to see a negative, but the last few months ive driven myself mad from 9-13dpo and I start to wonder if i'd be best off testing and getting it out the way. So maybe i'm going the opposite way this cycle!

ttcnumerodos · 06/01/2026 12:48

Thanks @Taysonicand @LuckyDuck93- it can feel very lonely this TTC business, so grateful to have this space to vent x

Fullofconfusion · 06/01/2026 12:30

@Taysonichave you spoken to your doctor about NHS help? I’ve been referred to the recurrent loss clinic but it had a 9 month waiting list so my appointment isn’t until June. I’m already 40 so feel like I don’t have time to waste but I’ve not looked into private help yet.

@lepoissonMhow are you doing? Hope you’re ok. Chemicals can feel so hard. I’m sorry you’ve had to go through this again.

@LuckyDuck93looks like we’re cycle buddies as I think I’m also 2DPO. Maybe we can stop each other testing too early and stressing ourselves out!

LuckyDuck93 · 06/01/2026 10:54

@ttcnumerodos definitely don't feel silly, I'm 2dpo today and had a twinge this morning, instantly thought oo what is this. Nothing makes me a more unhinged version of myself than the 2ww😆

Taysonic · 06/01/2026 09:50

No need to feel silly @ttcnumerodos we've all done it! Doesn't mean you're out so just see how the next few days go. Keeping my fingers crossed.

And yeah... was a tough weekend! And don't get me wrong, I don't think it was easy for my friends to express their concerns and it was brave of them in a way. I know my partner and I don't necessarily look good 'on paper' if that makes sense - it would be easy to look from the outside and question it, but the reality is so very different. I think the saddest thing for me about the whole thing was feeling like if we ever do have good news to share (not just TTC related but any good news), that it will be met with judgement. I guess time will either prove them right, or prove them wrong. We'll see!

TTC wise, I feel like I may be on the edge/verge of exploring what private healthcare options there are... Whether it's worth doing some investigations to see if there are any scar tissue issues that is preventing implantation to progress etc.? I don't feel like I've got enough time to sit and wait patiently for the NHS. I think the type of person I am, I need to feel like I'm doing something proactive to prevent a further loss.

ttcnumerodos · 06/01/2026 08:28

Sorry to hear about your friends @Taysonic, that sounds very rough considering what you've been through 🫂

And sorry for your loss @lepoissonM, I hope you're doing ok 🫂

🫂 To anyone else who needs it too!

I'm 9dpo this morning and have been symptom spotting so caved and did a test, obvs bfn 🙄 feel a bit silly now but I never usually have the opportunity as AF always arrives early x

LuckyDuck93 · 06/01/2026 08:11

@Taysonic honestly I really admire your strength, it's not easy to put yourself through this! I remember reading something about NICE guidance for Progesterone if you're bleeding and have had previous losses, definitely worth looking into. Ah thats rubbish timing from your friends, they could've been more thoughtful about it!

Hope everyone else is doing ok x

Iris2024 · 05/01/2026 23:11

@SureLook Thank you 🩷 I had a wobble the other day thinking do I just stop and not put myself through this anymore as it’s killing me but I’ll always regret it if I don’t carry on! 😓 Just worried it will never happen. Please stay in touch ❤️

@SleepySkyRat Yes, that’s right. That’s how I remember you. We went through similar a few months back. My cycles took a while to go back to normal so feel I was robbed of time but I keep on going. I had a wobble the other day but I’m back now. I’m so so happy for you!

@FarAwayBird Thank you so much for your kind words 🩷 I really do appreciate it and please keep me updated on your journey into motherhood. I can’t remember if this is your first?

@lepoissonM I’m so sorry that you’ve had a loss. I know how it feels and it’s the worst having it given to you and then taken away just as quick.

@Taysonic That’s really inconsiderate of them, what are their reasons? Read the room & the timing of the situation and how much hurt you’re going through.

OP posts:
Fullofconfusion · 05/01/2026 20:03

@Taysonicwow that’s definitely not the most appropriate timing from your friends. I’m sure they have your best interests at heart but I bet it wasn’t nice to hear. I hope you’re ok.

I spent last night and today feeling poorly. Think I’ve got a stomach bug. Not the best timing. Managed to DTD the day before I think I ovulated but not since so I feel like we’ve not covered all bases this cycle which is annoying. It seems like there’s always something and the clock is forever ticking

lepoissonM · 05/01/2026 19:41

It’s really ok @Taysonic I don’t feel too bad about it. At least we can pick ourselves up and keep going onto the next cycle. Hope you’re ok- that’s a lot from your friends.

Taysonic · 05/01/2026 14:18

Oh @lepoissonM I'm so sorry about your chemical. I really hate that terminology. I hope you've got lovely support around you in person as well as on here to help you through it.

@LuckyDuck93 back to work for me today too - I've got a busy month ahead workwise so hoping to plough myself into that and just put TTC at the back of my mind for a bit.

DP and I had a bit of a chat over the last couple of days and have come to the conclusion that we're not ready to give up on this dream yet. I'm not sure whether the expected wait time for the recurrent losses clinic is going end up being useful to us or not, but I might look into whether there are other options available to us if we were to conceive again to help the pregnancy become more established. All of my losses have been between 5 - 7 weeks so it feels like there must be something that's the issue specifically about that time frame. I may look into progesterone for next time.

Gosh, feels weird to be talking about potential next times.

I had a difficult weekend seeing friends. My friends, knowing I'd miscarried over Christmas and that it was my third loss this year, felt it appropriate to tell me all their concerns about my relationship (the subtext of which was very much: are you sure you want to have a child with this man?). And that upset me A LOT. Not because they're right, I don't think they are and frankly, they've barely seen us together as a couple (literally, they've met him twice in three years) but that they don't trust my judgement. Felt a bit like an ambush. And very ill-timed.

LuckyDuck93 · 05/01/2026 09:25

Morning ladies, hope everyone is doing ok as they can be.
Back to work & routine for me today which hopefully means feeling a bit more in control of everything, ttc included! Trying to focus on the things I can control with it like eating well & looking after myself.
Hope you all had a relaxing & gentle christmas x
