Hi everyone, just starting up a board for those of us thinking of TTC this month 😊 This is our first month TTC number 3. I just turned 40 so it's unlikely to happen quickly if at all, but we've decided to give it a couple of months just to leave it to fate! Looking forward to chatting with you all!

@Jess1898 we've been so on the fence about having a third child for years and this was a pretty quick decision this month so I think we're both feeling a little unsure! AF is due next weds so will probably test at the weekend!

Hi ladies, I hope it’s ok I join the thread ❤️

This is our first month actively trying. I was on CD10 yesterday and we dtd and according to my period tracker ovulation is tomorrow.

Jess1898 · 02/12/2025 19:16

@Anonna123ohh how come you’re having second thoughts? What day will you be testing?

@ELTWithACupOfTea you’re only a few days behind me! I’m cycle day 10 today! Fingers crossed for Christmas! 🤞🏻

ELTWithACupOfTea · 02/12/2025 10:49

Hope everyone is doing well 🥰

I had my first period after my implant came out on the 10th November and currently on CD4 (I think…) so right at the beginning and going to track properly this month. Fingers crossed for everyone here for good news at Christmas 🎄

Anonna123 · 02/12/2025 09:43

I keep feeling these pinching pains that I only get when I'm pregnant so I'm not sure what to think! DH and I are having second thoughts about TTC (🤦‍♀️) so this might be a one-shot thing. We'll find out next week 😅

I’m currently cycle day 9! Trying not to obsess with the OPKs and stress too much and just DTD through my fertile week which has started now!

Washingmachine22 · 01/12/2025 18:01

Hi @Anonna123 currently 2DPO so just begun the 2ww hopefully I can hold out until then 🤞

Anonna123 · 01/12/2025 17:49

It's December! How is everyone? I'm due to test at the end of the week!

I spoke too soon - got static smiley this evening and a dark strip test

glad managed to DTD this morning but now worried it was a bit premature…so to speak 😝

how’s everyone getting on/ what stage are you at now?

Ah yay! Glad you got the static 😁 this morning should be fine. I'd also dtd tomorrow if possible.

@spamOFtheDAY strip opks never worked for me in the past. On the cycle I conceived my first, I never got a peak at all. Sounds like the clear blue would be more accurate

Yeah same for me - I never seem to get strong lines or peaks (though have managed to conceive) think I maybe have a quick rise and fall that I don’t catch (perhaps in the night or something!)

spamOFtheDAY · 28/11/2025 10:14

Moosey898 · 28/11/2025 09:53

The flashing smiley is showing an increase in estrogens levels, not LH. Estrogen rises in the days before your LH rise/peak, hence they can tell you extra days in the lead up that you might be fertile.

I've used those clearblue ones for yearsssss now. They're a pretty good indicator. When my cycle has been regular (so not shortly after loss) I consistently had 3-4 days flashing before it turned solid. After my losses it's been a bit more variable. The longest I ever had was 9 days flashing before solid!

Yeah, I’ve had a little Google and it says they will keep on flashing even if it misses your LH peak (wondering if I maybe had a short quick peak) and doesn’t go back to ‘O’ even though your oestrogen drops again / it’s just set to keep on searching for LH peak
I’ll keep testing and see if it does catch it
thanks ☺️

Urgh - I hate all this!!

CD17, which in the past is often when I get my LH peak
however, still on CB flashing smileys - so did a strip OPK and barely a line there (lighter than it was 3 days ago)
no idea what’s going on 🤷‍♀️
maybe it missed the peak - but then would I be getting flashing smileys still?

managed to DTD this morning thinking it would be peak day today. I don’t think DH would be up for doing again any time soon 😝

anyone else use the clear blue advanced OPKs?

@Thomsonetthompson it's really hard when people announce while you're TTC. Wishing you much luck this cycle!

Hi, I'd like to join too! This month is 1 year since we started TTC#2 and we've had a miscarriage and ectopic on the way. I conceived DS and both losses quickly but we're now on cycle 6 since the ectopic and getting very frustrated. I'm expecting 2 friends and SIL to announce at Christmas and really dreading it. Especially since I'll be testing Christmas Eve if my cycle is normal!

So sorry to read all the other stories. It's such a heartbreaking journey and can be hard to find people in real life who can empathise so forums are so helpful.

hopeful4us · 25/11/2025 23:12

Sorry to hear about the losses but loving the toddler/puppy stories. Our 8 year old golden lab suffered a massive seizure when our DD was 6 weeks old - it was hugely traumatic for me pp and we were devastated as we knew she'd be the most loving 'big sister'. Thankfully we still have our spaniel as I'm not sure I could manage the puppy phase with a baby who has recently discovered crawling!! 🫣

hopeful4us · 25/11/2025 23:08

Hi everyone, thought I'd jump on. Getting my implant removed next Wednesday so DH and I can start ttc#2. DD is 7.5 months old and we'd love a small age gap. I fell pregnant fairly easily the first time around but nervous it won't be smooth sailing - still BF alongside weaning so will see how quickly AF returns. Obviously I won't be getting a BFP this month but these threads kept me sane previously and I'm wishing you all on ❤️

Anonna123 · 25/11/2025 14:49

@Jess1898 literally 😂 We're officially "leaving it to fate" but I'm incapable! I'm either all in or not, especially at 40 I don't want to spend months accidentally missing the window!
@spamOFtheDAY welcome 😊 Fingers crossed for this month. I know what you mean about DTD. It's still new as it's our first cycle but I remember how tricky it becomes as time goes on.

I have no idea where I’m at 😂 tracking my bbt in apple health which shows a rise last week, so no idea if I ovulated 10 days ago or still waiting… it’s killing me! Hope everyone else is okay!

Did it rise and fall again? I tracked bbt when I was TTC a few years back and I remember it rose and then stayed high on the cycle I fell pregnant. I think it drops if you're not pregnant?

Hi ladies
can I join?!
there are some tough TTC journeys here 😞

I’ve decided to TTC naturally in the 2 cycles before my 5th and last IVF round in Jan

all cycles have failed so far, but I’ve managed to conceive in between cycle 3 and 4 naturally (one MMC and 1 chemical)
im 40

I also have 1 boy, nearly 5 (been TTC since he turned 1)

id forgotten how much I hate all the LH testing etc

the worst bit for me is trying to time DTD.

unfortunately my husband isnt the sort who’d jump at the chance to DTD every other day as I think the pressure gets to him (and it’s too obvious when I’m suddenly in the mood but only for 1 week of the month 😂)

got the flashing smileys on CB advanced OPK so DTD this morning but worried itll go solid smiley tomorrow and it’d be too soon to get him to to DTD again!

Jess1898 · 25/11/2025 14:20

@Anonna123I get what you mean! Before having my son, we were initially like ‘if it happens it happens’ but once we start actively trying I because obsessed!

@ELTWithACupOfTeai imagine you did ovulate if there was a rise but I’ve never done bbt! I use OPKs but I’m trying not to get too obsessed with it as I didn’t track at all last time!

ELTWithACupOfTea · 25/11/2025 13:54

It's weird but since deciding to try, I've suddenly needed it to happen NOW, whereas I was perfectly ambivalent just a month ago. It's so strange how powerful hormones are!! Anyone else felt like this? I remember feeling this way about TTC before.
