I thought I’d start a thread for those TTC baby number 3 (and beyond, feel free to join!) It would be nice to share experiences. I feel like where I’m from 3 is the new 2 😅 but I’ve always felt like I wanted a bigger family anyway (I am 1 of 4!)

For background, DD1 has just turned 6 and DD2 has just turned 4. I’m on cycle #2, AF due in a couple of days but I’m testing BFN so roll on cycle #3. I was really hoping to catch before November so baby would only be 4 school years behind DD2 🙈 but what will be will be!

DD1 took 15 cycles

DD2 took 1 cycle

Anyone else??? X

Just from bodily signs really 😅

I think I do want to book into one but seems you either get an early viability scan or a dating scan - I’ve never done an early scan before so not sure which one is best?

mummatara · 28/10/2025 07:40

@MamaO88maybe you O earlier than you thought? Did you track with opk? Or just other signs? I can’t remember now. Your first line was a good strong one so I def wouldn’t rule out twins. I think you’re right they run down the maternal line but also higher chance the older you are. If you go down the private scan route I would try and wait to closer to the 7 week mark or when you think your 7 weeks it’s a better point to go for one than 6 weeks imo.

MamaO88 · 28/10/2025 07:32

Ooh @MegaMinion34 I see the line! Looking forward to seeing your next text! That’s 11dpo yeah?

@mummatara I genuinely thought I was about 4.5 weeks so it is a little further ahead than I thought. Not going to lie, twins had crossed my mind. I’m 37 and we do have twins in the family. My auntie and uncle are twins, and my cousin (the twin auntie’s daughter) has twins - albeit that’s all on my dad’s side so not sure it’s relevant cos I think it’s down Mum’s side isn’t it? My cousin (boy) on my Mum’s side has twins too, but again not sure that’s relevant either!

mummatara · 28/10/2025 07:24

morning ladies welcome @MegaMinion34 I can definitely see a line on your test. I’ve used these tests a lot and never had an indent it’s always been a line or no line they dry pretty obvious too. Everything crossed for you 🤞🏼

@olivehushthanks lovely I’m ok trying not to be too grumpy. Got a busy half term so that helps me not dwell on it too much. Sorry this AF is crap just to add a bit more insult to it all 🙄 but yes roll on O in a couple of weeks!

@MamaO88ooh I’ve seen these tests but never used one. I think it’s a definite 5-6 weeks going into early 6 week territory which is about right. I’d say you’re on track with a good dose of hcg in there don’t forget there’s a vast difference of what’s considered normal range of hcg level at this stage it just matters that it’s doubling over 2-3 days so as it’s showing a little higher than you maybe initially thought could just mean your doubling rate is going well or twins 😅 had a lot of lower back pain with DS2.

@Outside9sorry your feeling rough so early. Hope it’s eases a little 🤞🏼

MegaMinion34 · 28/10/2025 05:26

Morning all. Just tool this with FMU and I feel like I see the slightest thing, but really faint! I've ordered some FRER (so annoying you can't just buy them in shops anymore!), they should be here today or tomorrow.

@MamaO88 you could book a private scan and see if they measure it and give you a rough idea. I guess there’s no way to know until your 12 week dating scan where they’ll measure and give you the proper due date etc. Maybe use the day your coil came out as the day of your LMP for paperwork purposes? X

@Outside9 Yeah was expecting it to be a bad one after 6 years without one but seem to have avoided it, touch wood and fingers crossed that this one is a sticky one!

@olivehush neither had I, which I guess is why they ended up in my basket! 😂They came in a 2 pack so I guess I could do another one at the weekend or something?

I genuinely don’t know if it is right? Ovulation was 9th Oct, so I’m 18dpo here - feels like it’s showing further ahead than it should be? 🤔

I feel very different in this pregnancy so far to my others. It’s very early, but I have lots of cramping/aching/feeling like everything is pinching and pulling internally. And lots of lower back pain and aches around my stomach if I bend down to pick something up or tie my laces etc.

I don’t remember feeling like this with the others, but not sure if it’s just my age as I am 37 now 👵😅

olivehush · 28/10/2025 00:17

@MamaO88 I’ve never seen a test like this in my life! Pretty cool…this must be how the CB Digis work behind the scenes?!

I would say that result is like halfway between the bottom two. So right in the middle of 5-6 weeks and 6+ which is about right isn’t it? Looks like good progression to me! 🥳

Outside9 · 28/10/2025 00:12

@MamaO88 ahh yes I understand now! In which I'd put my money on 4-5weeks, with likelihood you'll be 5-6week in next couple days. But it is a hard one to call

Quite lucky to have avoided a period lol

MamaO88 · 27/10/2025 23:04

Thanks @Outside9 - trying to figure out the dating side of it based on the grid provided - which would you class as the one to use?

Remember I don’t have a date of last period as had my mirena coil removed in September and haven’t had a bleed since - so just trying to work out rough dating haha

Outside9 · 27/10/2025 23:02

Welcome to all the newcomers 😊

Thanks for well wishes, I'm feeling a little better this evening. Hopefully I've survived the worst.

@MamaO88 looks like normal and healthy progression to me

MamaO88 · 27/10/2025 22:33

A bit clearer once it’s dried too

So I did that other test that I ordered from Amazon, it’s a line dye test but also has indicator lines for weeks.

Interested to see how you guys are reading this result?

Welcome welcome @MegaMinion34 sorry to hear you’ve had a rough journey with #3 💐 totally normal to feel disheartened at this stage! A few of us on here have experienced chemicals so can understand what you’re going through. Are you planning on testing early or waiting until AF is due?

@MintRobin I actually don’t know what Maca really does to be fair, but, I had 1 chemical and then the month after an early loss (like 6 weeks) trying to conceive DD1 and went down the google rabbit hole of progesterone and stuff. I read that Maca was an adaptogen (??) and could mimic hormones in your body that were low, thus balancing your hormones. It made my cycle way more regular and I actually had fertile CM for the first time when I started it! Then the cycle I took it together with CoQ10, I conceived a sticky DD1. Then 2 years later same combo conceived a sticky DD2. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t, but I feel it’s good luck. Haha.

how are you doing @mummatara ? Been thinking of you.

Sorry you’re feeling rough this early @Outside9 hopefully it subsides a bit!

I knew this AF would hit me like a truck, I’ve had a heavy pulling pain in my lower tummy allllll day and then some sharp pains that take my breath away 😵‍💫 2 weeks til O!
LOL.

@olivehush hope you find the new supplements helpful! What does Maca root help with? Sorry if I've asked before, brain is fried haha

Congrats @Outside9 - lovely line!

Sorry your holiday wasn't great @MamaO88 , hope everyone feeling better soon! Seems like there are so many bugs going around - I've been hearing people getting Covid again!

Welcome @MegaMinion34! Glad you're joining us, we're all in a similar boat. Keeping fingers crossed you get good news when you test

OliveRose2 · 27/10/2025 19:58

@Outside9 ah congratulations! Sorry you're feeling so rough though.

@MegaMinion34 sorry to hear about your losses. Really relate to what you said about feeling disheartened - we conceived our first two really quickly as well (and the last one, which I miscarried), but since the miscarriage seems like nothing's happening. Guess we just have to keep faith that it'll happen eventually!

@mummatara sorry to hear AF arrived. It's horrible even when you're expecting it Flowers

MamaO88 · 27/10/2025 18:32

Hi @MegaMinion34 - welcome to the group!

Sorry about your previous losses, I’m sure most of us can relate unfortunately. It really does make you realise just how tricky and complex even being able to get pregnant in the first place is, then a whole other challenge successfully holding on to the pregnancy and having a healthy baby at the end of the process!

You don’t need to worry about voicing your feelings or concerns here, we all sympathise and understand that as much as you can rationalise, it doesn’t take away the underlying desire to grow your family asap!

Are you tempted to test yet? I did a test at 10dpo and got a pretty clear line 🙊

MegaMinion34 · 27/10/2025 12:56

Hi all, thought I'd introduce myself! I'm 29, DH is 30 (almost 31). We've been TTC #3 since March this year. We already have 2 DC who are 6.5 and 3.

Unfortunately since March I have had 3 chemical pregnancies 😔 I also had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks back in 2018, before falling pregnant with our eldest. So 4 losses overall.

I must admit to feeling quite disheartened. Our other two DC were conceived very easily (within 3 months of trying) but this time around it's taking a fair bit longer. I know 7 months is still within the realm of a normal amount of time for it to take, but it's quite disheartening when you've previously fallen pregnant and had a successful pregnancy quite easily.

I am currently 10DPO and itching to test 😆

Outside9 · 27/10/2025 10:04

MamaO88 · 27/10/2025 09:23

Ooh @Outside9 thats a good line - how are you feeling? X

Mentally - thankful and cautiously optimistic. Though juggling the (recovering) 1 and 3.5 year old, I don't think I've been able to process much yet and consider future implications.

Physically - quite rough. It's like I have very, very bad food poisoning and been toilet at least a dozen times already (sorry TMI). After some googles -apparently this can happen.

There was just more a slow steady climb in my previous pregnancies. My period is due today so I expected to be blissfully unaware at this stage if I am/was pregnant.

@MamaO88 @mummatara I will certainly update you guys in the AM! I think I'll test progression just to use up the sticks I have.

@olivehush thank you! Little one has mostly recovered from HFMD. She's a little irritable, but rashes are thankfully clearing up. Just need to survive one more week of 1/2 term.

Last couple days I've been complaining to DH I'd eaten something dodgy as stomach felt off. I don't recall nausea hitting me this early in previous pregnancies.

MamaO88 · 26/10/2025 20:53

Literally just got back from holiday - genuinely haven’t really had time to process that we tested positive this time last week as quite frankly the holiday was a bit rubbish and totally overshadowed by everyone being ill!

I don’t know if it’s just me, and because I’ve had a miscarriage between our current 2 children, but I find this phase really quite anxious and uncomfortable. Trying to keep symptom spotting, reassuring yourself that you are still pregnant because it doesn’t feel like it?

I had to order some more vitamins, folic acid etc so chucked a couple of cheaper line tests in the basket too, but these ones are different and have lines for the weeks pregnant too - anyway they are due to arrive tomorrow so I’ll do one and post it for you all to see/comment on 😅

@mummatara sorry that AF showed, it’s always hard but chemicals make it feel even worse don’t they? Getting your hopes up like that is just mean 😔

@olivehush sorry that AF showed for you too, hoping this is a lucky cycle for you both 🍀

@Outside9 that’s very exciting! Let us see your next test!

Good luck for the TWW @MintRobin and @OliveRose2

olivehush · 26/10/2025 19:45

@Outside9 ah just seen the update! Exciting! Congrats 🥳
