I thought I’d start a thread for those TTC baby number 3 (and beyond, feel free to join!) It would be nice to share experiences. I feel like where I’m from 3 is the new 2 😅 but I’ve always felt like I wanted a bigger family anyway (I am 1 of 4!)

For background, DD1 has just turned 6 and DD2 has just turned 4. I’m on cycle #2, AF due in a couple of days but I’m testing BFN so roll on cycle #3. I was really hoping to catch before November so baby would only be 4 school years behind DD2 🙈 but what will be will be!

DD1 took 15 cycles

DD2 took 1 cycle

Anyone else??? X

@MamaO88i try not to get too excited but there is always a lil voice saying maybe this is the one 🤞🏼 I’ve only ever had one positive test this early before and that turned out to be a blighted ovum 🙄 so I don’t know whether it’s a good thing for an early positive or not but I can’t change any outcome just have to hope it sticks. My boots test now has a vvvvvfl and it’s pink so I think that probably means that the easy at homes just picked it up sooner this morning. Oh I’m so pleased you’re where you thought you were. A couple of days either side is pretty normal for an early scan they do usually catch up by 12 weeks. We’re your DC excited?

MamaO88 · 19/11/2025 16:56

Ooh @mummatara that’s a definite line! 😍

How are you feeling about it?

@olivehush @mummatara I thought I was 7w 3d at the scan, she dated it 7w 1d but said that is just an average for the size measurement and that it would be corrected at the 12 week NHS scan. I’m pretty sure on my dates though so it’s not a million miles off! 8 weeks tomorrow, feel like it’s going to drag until the scan now!

mummatara · 19/11/2025 16:52

Well the line is def there and not so squinty 🙈 I’m sure my boots test from this morning is just an indent as there’s no colour to it now it’s dried. I didn’t have any boots tests left so just traipsed out to get some 😅

@Anonna123welcome to the we’re not sure if we’re crazy club 😂

@olivehushlower backache has been one of my symptoms last few pregnancies. It was horrendous with DS2. Got everything crossed for you. I have no symptoms whatsoever. I will report back on tonight’s findings 🤣 I’m not going to get my hopes up yet the boots test really looked like an indent shadow and it was too hard to tell either way on the easy at homes but my brain is just like you can’t possibly have 3 indents surely 🤷🏼‍♀️ only a few days to wait for you but I’m hoping she’s a no show 🤞🏼

Anonna123 · 19/11/2025 12:24

@olivehush thank you! It's something we've been on-off discussing for a while and we've decided to just go for it, knowing the chances are relatively low but I just can't get the idea out of my head that there's someone missing from our family. Did you feel this way?

There are so many reasons not to - our house and car would be too small, our existing two kids are healthy and happy (not a guarantee for a third child), I have high risk pregnancies, life is easy now.....! And yet....We've decided to leave it to fate and try for the next few months. My feeling is, if it's meant to be it will happen soon-ish! We made the decision yesterday and my (hopefully!) fertile week is coming up next week!

olivehush · 19/11/2025 12:13

ahh keeping my fingers crossed it turns into something @mummatara definitely test tonight! Hold that wee in as long as poss 🤣 I am 11dpo today and haven’t felt remotely tempted to test…I don’t feel pregnant at all, but then again I felt pregnant last month as wasn’t so doesn’t really mean anything does it haha. First time ever I have had really bad lower back pain on the left?! Leaning towards AF because of that. I reckon I’ll be able to hold out until Sunday to see if AF shows up!

aww congratulations on seeing your little jelly bean @MamaO88 did they work out how many weeks or still too early?

welcome welcome @Anonna123 definitely still in with a chance! So are you on cycle 1? I definitely feel the same way about a 3rd, I’m the most excited I’ve ever been to get pregnant…but also feel like I’m a bit crazy for wanting to go again hahaha

fingers crossed for November BFPs and feeling sick at Christmas 😅

Hello everyone @olivehush 👋 I'm a little late but can I join this thread?! We just decided to pull the trigger and go for a third after a couple years of indecision, which I'm finding crazy and exciting! I just turned 40 and our older two are 3 and 7, so it very much feels like a now or never! I know the chances of conception are low at my age but both our mums had babies into their 40s so it seems possible. Eeek!

mummatara · 19/11/2025 10:29

@MamaO88oh I’m so glad all went well. Been thinking about you. Did they give you an idea of how many weeks? Haha I’m not sure I could watch the eating trial at any time 🤣 no def not there enough for a photo. Might try again this evening and see if I’m not imagining it 🙈 hopefully not if all 3 have shadows but you never know stranger things have happened. It is also still very early app thinks 8dpo but I’m leaning more towards 9dpo

MamaO88 · 19/11/2025 10:09

Sorry for the radio silence! Scan on Sunday went well, all looking good and on track ❤

Since we’ve had that scan we made the decision to tell the kids and our parents/siblings - they were all thrilled and just been in a little bubble really. Although I’ve been feeling so lousy and sick, I literally was sick watching the I’m a Celeb eating trial as I just couldn’t stomach it 😅

Photo of our little jellybean 😍

Ooh @mummatara that’s exciting, can you catch the lines on photo?

Hopefully not long to go @MintRobin🤞🏼 you were CD18 last time or did I get that wrong?

I think I might have the start of something on this morning test. I took an easy at home saw the lightest little shadow. So I dipped another easy at home and a boots 6 day early test. They all have shadows but they are so faint they look more like indents I feel like 3 indents would be very poor luck. And I’ve never had an indent on either test despite using them for so long. Not counting my chickens yet but certainly looks promising 🤞🏼

MintRobin · 18/11/2025 15:24

I'm CD11 and ovulation testing to find my peak again this month. See how we get on.

Hope all are keeping well xx

mummatara · 18/11/2025 10:14

How are you feeling @olivehush? You gonna wait it out or think you’ll test? Where is everyone else at? I don’t think anyone else is in tww are they?

mummatara · 16/11/2025 16:17

@MamaO88how did the scan go? It was this morning wasn’t it?

mummatara · 15/11/2025 16:15

@olivehushthey for sure make you question your sanity don’t they 😂 oooh you’ve done so well I’m only 5dpo also had a busy week and next week isn’t looking much quieter but I’ll still be testing from Tuesday 🤣 I know I won’t be able to help myself. I have had an awful backache since last night but I think it’s too early to be anything related most likely pulled something picking up the 100 toys strewn all over my house 🙄 dreading Christmas and the arrival of more stuff 😭

olivehush · 15/11/2025 15:01

Hahaha @Outside9 @mummatara DH and I almost had a breakdown just trying to get the girls out of the front door the other day. Every time we located one the other was gone. Nobody was listening. I was like…are you sure you want a 3rd yeah? 🤣

7dpo today can’t believe how quick the week went! I’m not as busy next week though so feel like I might get tempted to test. See how I go…

Outside9 · 15/11/2025 10:56

@mummatara I totally agree! When you're sick it's inconvenient but it's like there's a relief, and you can go about your day. Nausea just makes you miserable 😅😂 to make matters worse... a few months ago I signed up and raised money to do a 5K charity run. That's next week, I clearly didn't think things through...

It's funny how your own children will have you 2nd guessing giving them siblings haha. I remember the very next day I found I was pregnant DD2, DD1's toddler tantrums started. DH and I looked at each other like "WTF have we done 😭"

mummatara · 15/11/2025 09:38

@Outside9i think nausea is actually worse than just being sick. First DS I had constant nausea but second DS I was just sick think I preferred that 😂

mummatara · 15/11/2025 09:37

@Outside9ahhh if you have to suffer only right they get to deal with you moaning about it 😂 I’m ok nothing exciting to report it’s too early for anything exciting. I did order a box of easy at home tests so I don’t feel bad about wasting them at 8dpo 😬 still a few days off testing though. Smallest DS has been sleeping awful the past couple of weeks so I am questioning my sanity of another right now 😂

Outside9 · 14/11/2025 22:08

All good here, nausea just been hitting hard. Trying not to moan too much to DH lol

@mummatara how you feeling? Hope TWW flies by 🧡

mummatara · 14/11/2025 11:36

The TWW is so boring 🙄 how you finding this one @olivehush? Where is everyone else at? How are all you pregnant mamas feeling?

Outside9 · 12/11/2025 19:54

@MamaO88 it was okay I think! Apparently previous section is still considered a significant risk even with a VBAC, though the management should be less intense compared to last time. Testing for GD is becoming a standard routine now, so I'll have one in a few months (though I never had GD in previous pregnancies).

Do you think you'll go for an elective section? From what I hear it's much calmer and pleasant vibes.

MamaO88 · 12/11/2025 17:50

How did you get on @Outside9?

My risk profile was as expected! 2 x c-section, 2 x pre-term labour, 1 x pre-eclampsia - I’m red pathway and consultant led for sure 🙄😅

Outside9 · 12/11/2025 12:05

@MamaO88 glad to hear your booking went well. My clinic forgot to let me know I was anaemic until I was into my last pregnancy, so I'm also taking iron supplements just in case.

My first appointment is actually my in 1.5hrs. I'm not expecting much, but will be interesting to what they say. My last birth was (thankfully) a successful VBAC. So hoping that will reduce my risk profile somewhat.

MamaO88 · 12/11/2025 10:47

Booking appointment went well thank you @mummatara and @olivehush - it was so unbelievably long though! I was there for nearly 2 hours 😳

Gave come away with a full concoction of additional meds I need to take - increased folic acid, iron tablets and daily aspirin - a combination of my previous history, age and BMI apparently 😅

Today is the first day I haven’t felt persistent nausea, although it’s rumbling and I can feel it on the peripheral - maybe I’m too old for this 👵😂
