I'm going out of my mind on month 5 of ttc! Anyone else with me?! On 8dpo, every little niggle or thing is driving me crazy. Just had a bit of spotting so could it be implantation bleeding or is my period coming?! (And so begins a 30 min google hole of perimenopause symptoms, because im 40 so it could be!!!) Argh!

@FullofconfusionI’m so sorry for your losses.😢 It’s awful and very hard navigating pregnancy after miscarriages. I hope you will get your rainbow baby very soon.🙏🫶

BoFo84 · 20/09/2025 17:31

@PineappleKthank you so much, I hope so too! It’s been a roller coaster of emotions. I just want to be pregnant again and have a healthy second baby. Fingers crossed for this month.🙏

Fullofconfusion · 19/09/2025 13:48

@BoFo84 wishing you luck this cycle.

I’m also TTC after losses. My last in June this year. Prior to that I lost my son at 22 weeks last June. It’s an awful process and I think the added anxiety from previous losses makes it so much worse.

PineappleK · 19/09/2025 11:30

@BoFo84 best of luck to you too 💕 sorry to hear about your loss, hope you get your rainbow baby very soon

BoFo84 · 19/09/2025 11:10

I’m sorry just realised your post was from a week ago 😂

BoFo84 · 19/09/2025 11:01

I’m 41, TTC our second since August 2024, with 4 miscarriages since.😢
In the tww too, 3 DPO today and I’m already dying to test! This is our second cycle since my last mc (July).
I’m feeling a mix of emotions, feel hopeful and positive sometimes, then other times I feel super anxious and sad as I should have a little baby by now and still here keep trying.😢
TTC is tough!

PineappleK · 19/09/2025 10:50

@Fullofconfusion I'm sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed for next month, a 12 day luteal phase is really positive though! 💕 Best of luck for next month

Fullofconfusion · 19/09/2025 10:24

Ergh AF arrived this morning.

Going to try and take it as a positive that my luteal phase extended to 12 days this month. Onto the next one

Fullofconfusion · 18/09/2025 21:45

Oh wow that’s really useful @thismonthsfadthank you for the info. I might look into getting a thermometer for my next cycle.

I did have spotting earlier but…it’s gone again 🙈

I’m just going to not test tomorrow and see what happens. AF will either arrive or she won’t and testing won’t change that. This is what I’m telling myself at the moment anyway!

I’m pretty good at knowing when I’m ovulating from cervical mucus and usually use the LH strips to confirm.

I’m definitely more in tune with my body now than I’ve ever been. I spent so long on the pill that it took a while for me to realise how my cycles work. I had a period of time where I would have long cycles and then more recently (since my loss last year) they have been around 31 days, ovulating at around day 20/21 and then AF arriving 10 days later. This cycle has totally thrown me for a loop as I ovulated day 28 (I thought I’d had a cycle where I didn’t ovulate as it took so long!) and now day 40.

@PineappleKI love your positivity and I hope I too have a positive in a few days. It’s just a bit of a weird one

PineappleK · 18/09/2025 18:16

@Fullofconfusion I've been spotting since Saturday after my vvvv faint positive and my next 2 tests were negative. So don't count yourself out yet 🤞🏻

Fullofconfusion · 18/09/2025 14:46

@PineappleKclearly they’re missing something there then! 😂

I’ve started spotting so think this is me out

Argh I replied to your last message then saw this! Sorry to hear you're out, next TWW is just around the corner ❤

Fullofconfusion · 18/09/2025 12:34

I only use LH strips. Am I missing out by not doing temps? @thismonthsfad

I’m 12DPO today after saying I always have a 10 day luteal phase and still no AF and still negative

Ohh so you're further along than you thought, when is AF due for you?

I have found temping very useful so would recommend it (you need a proper BBT thermometer), you'll have low temps for your AF and fertile period then your temps will increase post ovulation - for me it just helps me to confirm ovulation (so far mine has been on CD12).

Also - in Tonis fertility awareness book, she states that if you have high temps for 18 days in a row this pretty much confirms pregnancy so it's a good way of knowing pregnancy has occurred even if you're not testing positive.

This is only my 2nd month TTC, I used the LH strips last cycle but couldn't find my surge, I was taking temps as well which confirmed ovulation so I just have stuck with the temps instead of using the strips.

The book also teaches how to recognise the day/approaching day of ovulation by looking at cervical mucus/discharge - I found this so useful to read.

Toni's fertility book also talks about short post ovulation phases..

I would defo recommend Toni's Fertility Awareness Book and taking temperatures, I got my copy from World of Books for a few pounds and pretty much refer to it every few days.

PineappleK · 18/09/2025 12:42

@thismonthsfad I didn't temp this time, I tried but my little girl sleeps in our bed so I get roused from sleep every few hours.

I learned so much from her and yeah I think every teenage girl should read it to have a real understanding of their body. I'm ashamed to say how little I knew before I read the book...and I'm a biomedical scientist! This time I got 2 veeeeery faint lines at 11DPO (see pics above) but nothing at 12DPO so assumed I'd had chemical. Didn't test till 15DPO which was my AF due date, and the positives are good strong ones. @Fullofconfusion according to LH strips I don't ovulate so I've never got on with them personally 😂

@Fullofconfusionthank you, I'm still in shock. I definitely wasn't expecting it but I guess those squinters I had before were actually positive!

The book I recommended basically said if your luteal phase is extended and you definitely ovulated, pregnancy is basically the only cause. If you're only 10 DPO maybe it's just too early to tell. The squinters I had were 11 DPO and I had absolutely nothing on 12 DPO so there's definitely hope for you yet! The early tests don't take into consideration that we all have different luteal phase lengths so it's highly unlikely you're gonna get a positive yet, even if you are!

Fingers crossed for you! Let us know how you get on 💕

Congratulations PinappleK - Amazing news! You must be over the moon.

I also read Toni's Fertility Awareness Book - this is my second month of TTC, I learned so much from the book that I have ditched the LH strips. I wish I had read this book when I was a teen.

Did you get to 18 days of high temps? Last month I got to 17 days before AF came. It was actually fascinating to see it all play out as Toni suggests in her book.

I am on 9DPO today, AF due on Tuesday/Weds. Will start testing from tomorrow (10DPO) or Saturday (11DPO).

When did you see your first faint line?

PineappleK · 17/09/2025 21:19

@PineappleKwow congratulations!

That looks like a good strong line too!!

I’ll do another test in the morning if AF still hasn’t arrived. Flo said I was due to start my period today and I’ve not gone more than 10 days post ovulation over the last few months so not sure where she’s hiding. Maybe I’ll have a surprise like you, however the tests I took today and yesterday were very negative so I highly doubt it

PineappleK · 17/09/2025 19:21

Well you could knock me down with a feather right now. Totally different to my last pregnancy already. I had a glass of wine on Sunday and again on Tuesday! 🙈 I'd totally convinced myself I was out this month. I guess AF isn't on the way at all but slightly concerned I've had some spotting

2 week wait purgatory!
thismonthsfad · 17/09/2025 17:34

I am 8DPO today - going to test on Friday (10DPO). I have sore breasts and had some brown spotting on 5DPO but read that's too early for implantation bleeding. I also have some milk cramping but I think I may be reading too much into it.. AF due in 6 days.

It's my husbands 40th birthday next week - manifesting that I give him some amazing news!

PineappleK · 17/09/2025 16:36

@Fullofconfusionstill not arrived! I think I'm going to do a cheap test when I get home but definitely not expecting anything because I've been spotting which I normally do just before AF arrives.

It might actually be good for me if it comes a little late because it means I'll be more available for DTD on my next cycle (not on night shifts!)

Fullofconfusion · 17/09/2025 16:33

I’m on 11DPO now and no AF. Negative test this morning. Still having cramps so assume AF coming but kind of wish she’d get a move on so that I can move onto the next cycle.

Hope you’re ok @PineappleKand AF isn’t too bad for you this month

PineappleK · 16/09/2025 21:33

@Jellbell40im not sure about how you get the tablets, but definitely get in touch with your GP and you'll be able to go from there! The books written by an American Dr so very different over there. Getting your hormones tested is a good start too, if you struggle to get an appointment make sure you tell them the test is time sensitive, they'll find a way to squeeze you in usually ☺️

@Fullofconfusionthats very sad to hear, I hope you get your rainbow baby very soon. If you've conceived naturally in the past then it's a good sign you'll be able to get pregnant again.

Sending you all good vibes, AF is due tomorrow and I can tell she's about to come!

Jellbell40 · 16/09/2025 20:52

Oh @PineappleK im sorry, thats such a shame. I've just finished AF, so fingers crossed for next month. I hope you can find some time to ttc this month. Its such a heartbreaking time isn't it. Thats interesting about the progesterone tablets, how do you get hold of them!? Would I need to speak to a specialist? Im having blood tests this month, on cycle day 2 and 22 to check hormone levels. @Fullofconfusion im so sorry to hear of your sad loss, thats devastating. Everything crossed for you xx

Thanks @PineappleKI've been holding off speaking to someone and hoping it’ll just happen but I’m getting to the stage where I think I need to. I’ll have a look at that book.

I did fall pregnant last year and devastatingly had to TFMR at 22 weeks. I also had a missed miscarriage earlier this year. I’d very much like my rainbow baby now.
