Very nervous to TTC after a miscarriage but am going for it

Bella - glad to hear about your AF, can't wait for mine to arrive and also not arrive but without it, ttcing is a bit of a stab in the dark

just to let you all know, Hester's had her BFP only 4 months after M/C.. so there's hope for us all yet!

just giggling at dramaqueens comment about "decidedly average" card - i really think guys find it difficult doing romance to order - much like ttc'ing i guess ! anyway dqueen it sounds like he's trying and that's the main thing. sorry hereshoping to hear that yours didnt even muster a card up yet, maybe later?!
well, as you all heard my weekend was a bit of a flop (!) but we somehow resurrected what was left of it and it all turned out ok in the end. I even got some gorgeous flowers and a cute card today. .

mishi - you are probably right, its not good to get too obsessive - but having said that, if needs must! i was a bit horrified by all this stuff before i had an m/c - i was the polar opposite - too chilled about it all. now i know its not so easy - plus other factors like my age (38) - d/h sperm count not great etc.etc. i honestly feel i have to make an effort now, or it may be too late. i know too many older women who made the career choice only to have regrets later on. including arch-feminists, like germaine greer.

bella - love amsterdam. lucky you. thrilled to hear AF arrived.

have a very good trip to Ireland, deeeply envious here. may all your valentines be fabulous ones ladies. my (card) was decidedly average, but hey he tried totally non romantic gifts -photography things- but again he did get me somethng. not quite a trip to amsterdam but!!!! he took me to seville once and paris as a surprise each time, so will have to live thro memories i think!LOL

lilolme -sorry no experience of coil, or endometriosis either, but wishing you much luck in ttc. hope you start another thread and get some advice re the coil etc, but v welcome to join us in obsessing for ttc!!!
mishi, sorry shes not thinking about you, i guess its hard when pg to remember everyone, i hope we dont put our feet in it when we're the pg ones. cause we will also be blooming happy opks are the least obsessive for me! as monitors etc requier you to do things the same time each day.....and i am so not organised enough for that! may have to be in a couple of months if it doesnt happen tho. willing to do whatever. so give opks a go next time maybe. we can obsess about dark lines versus lighter lines all day together!
romilliy -how funny, dh and i always fall out exactly around perfect O time. i think they second guess us anyhow. even if you DID sound abit tactless thereLOL!and that slightly late O time sounds just right for a baby girl i think! FINGERS CROSSED for you. big time. hmmmmmmm, are you coming up to the 2 week wait then? ah now theres a time i am certian to loose it....2ww between bding and testing time drives me loopy!!!! its a loooooooooong time......oh, sorry i'm prob not helping am i?
dh keen to bd today, even said 'come on i thought we were trying to make a baby......' nearly told him it was past peak time, but thought thats maybe NOT tactful to say 'needed you last week.......but not now' to him!!! never mind, at least hes keen to get pg. LOL

Mishi - sorry to hear about that, I understand though, I avoid certain threads as although I am happy for pregnant woman it can be hard even though I feel ok. I have a friend who is pregnant and we were both really excited at being pregnant at the same time as our dds are good friends, she is very tactful but I do often think 'if only...'

DQ she does know i had mc etc but shes obviously wrapped up in her own pg..hey ho its the way it goes...as for bding i am planning at least every other but prefer every day..not using opks etc yet as thats too obsessive for me personally...lol but who knows if ive not caught on in a couple of months..lol

welcome to the thread lilolme and sorry to hear you have had such a tough time. i'm afraid i have had no experience with endometriosis so can't offer any advice - but you could (if you haven't already) do a search on archived messages (see top of page). Or post a brand new thread titled endometriosis advice please! maybe quiet tonight but hang in there i'm sure you will get response. good luck.

dqueen, wish i had more time to chat - but gotta go and do d/h supper! thanks for your babydust. my weekend of bd'ing didnt go as smoothly as planned - after humungous row with d/h who is freaked out about being told when i'm ovulating. i can understand it doesnt seem 'very loving' as he put it - being expected to perform - but i don't think any one of us wants it to be so unspontaneous its just that the timing is so bloody all important - dammit!
anyway - we've kissed and made up, thank god. he bought me flowers (and we did manage one more bd - tho probably out of peak time !) i have to admit i didnt help the whole situation by being stroppy and stressed out and then said - right, lets go - i'm ovulating. whoops.

Ello ladies, new to this but as I have for so long now, had so many conflicting information snippets about endometriosis, the mirena coil and fertility. That I am very grateful to have now stumbled onto this web site. I have posted this on to endometriosis and mirena thread, but this thread seems to have more up to date activity...

Firstly though want to say good luck to all those that are awaiting the sounds of pattering feet...Wishing you all the best... After my youngest brother making mum grandma first (a lovely nephew for me of six months) (always knew he would, found cannot hold out to the broodiness any longer.. pitter patter

I have had the mirena coil for six years now, just turned 28. I was diagnosed with endometriosis when I was just 21, after a long hard struggle getting the doctors to fully examine me. As I was 'brushed off' and supplied with muscle relaxants (which caused more pain as they were fighting with my bodys' own responses) as I fitted the typical age bracket of an IBS sufferer. Apparently young women do not eat enough fibre as typically have bad diets??!! (Weetabix and brown bread every morning for me) Then as it progressed and got worse it was suggested I had appendicitus, then rumbling appendix and eventually late on a Saturday night five years from when the pain had started (which was age 16-17).I was finally taken to theatre for a laparoscopy which diagnosed endometroisis.

My experience with the marena has been good, I have had no endo pain since it was fitted, weight has been normal fluctuations. My only complaint is bouts of acne. Hormonal type lumps on the jawline. These were regular but occassional now. Although originally I did believe this was down to the tablets and zoladex injections I had had as part of the endo treatment to essentially remove, then replace hormones within the body. But since reading others mirena messages, it has got me wondering ....

After having the depo for five years previous to the marena coil, I would add it has worked better for me. As the depo caused huge weight gain and continous untimely spotting, whereas marena abolished all periods very quickly. (this was something I had to be assured was normal)

My worry now is since I have now had the marena removed two weeks ago trying for a baby with long term partner No sign of period yet... does anyone know how long the body takes to get back to normal? Also I am dreading it in case endo returns along with heavy painful periods . But most of all will I fall pregnant??? Cos I have read such conflicting stories whether marena good with endo, some good, some bad reports...especially as had one fitted before having a family. Besides the scare that endo itself affects fertility.

Sorry to ramble just grateful to be in touch with people that may have had first hand experience instead of doctors who have quite honestly confused me with all their opinions..

mishi, sorry that upset you, i know how it is. i cant believe how far along the august pg ladies are, seems only yesterday we were all just a few weeks doesnt it? and of course pg ladies due when we were is going to upset you. and me, -if its any consolation. does she know you had a m/c? if she doesnt maybe she should, not so she doesnt eveyr mention her pg, just so shes alittle more tactful?

I seriously doubt a bpf in my test, but thanks for hoping so. still having pretty awful side pains.....I can ony assume af in weird disguse, or IBS maybe? fingers crossed very hard its not appendix or anything drastic, had quite enough 'drama' and surgery lately thanks.
bding opportunities are not coming my way right now, either i'm in pain or dh isnt home! still, think its passed the opportunity time this month anyhow, if its not done now it'll have to be next month! what is you 'game plan' re bding? everyday? eveyr other day? not so often? as often as poss not counting exactly when? i'm curious to know if everyones 'leaving it to nature' or trying even harder. this month i left it to chance, next month it will be abit more like a miltary operation!! cant remember what your using? opks? persona? nothing? tell me all over again....

i warn you now, i cried anc cried end of month 2 last time when i discovered i wasnt pg. absolutely awful fight with dh over it. yikes. got pg month 3 tho, so something to aim for right?

Was really upset yesterday as one of birthboards i pos ton for ds has quite a few of the ladies pg..fair enough but about 3 are due when i would have been...one only a couple of days later and she was going on and on about how hard its been how tired she is etc..which yes she prob is but i keep having to stop my self telling her where to go..lol
anyways yesterday she posted that she had been for her 20wk scan and it was a girl etc which is great but it really upset me cos just feel like its getting rubbed in my face...even though she isnt iykwim...stupid really cos know im crying again

evening all, am knackered, took dd to v&a which did not go to well, the chinese new year events were running a bit late and dd was getting restless, bored and hungry so we gave up and took her to the science musuem instead and into the play room where she had a blast!

girl - yes patience is important, I just wish I had some! Am going to get up to mischief with my dh this half term & hopefully nature will give me some good news.

Am looking forward to watching the baftas and hoping johnny depp or leonardo di caprio wins something, not sure they have even been nominated!!!! And then it is CSI NY for me! gruesome but i do love it!

hey which steam railway? theres one near me that does that thomas too! luckily, dd is balamory obsessed, not train!!phew...nephew was aboslutely NUTS about thomas. but thankfully past it now. hate it, dont know why just do!LOL my big kddies are too big to entertain, just throw money at them really to make them happy at this age. first day home not too awful. suspect it may get madder before it gets better!
glad dh is happy about the ttc sometimes they can be fickle fellows when it comes to being 'under pressure'(roll eyes here) my dh has grumbled but is as keen as me -if not keener- to get pg. right now STILL getting odd twinge ocassionally in lower right side. if no af by 2oth i will test (fingers crossed) and also get ectopic ruled out too (i'm sure i'm over reacting but...you know, used to think m/c only happened to other people too.)it prob af. sure she must be about here somewhere!

DQ - have no idea about my own stats, I guess my AF should appear in the next 3-4 weeks, but who knows. Is 6-8 weeks the norm after a m/c or has anyone gone straight back into their normal cycle.

I went to the health store today to buy all those so called 'superfoods', got completley confused by all the names which started to merge into one after a while, I then gave up and brought so dried chewy banana chips for my dd instead, she loves them although she refuses the fresh stuff, strange huh?

hello all, dh is a teacher so am looking forward to spending more time with him and dd together doing family stuff.

Was speaking to my friend today about my m/c and bereavement and I got quite upset, I realised that I had already built a life for my unborn so although miscarriage happened early I had still lost a baby. sorry am feeling a little raw now although it was good to really discuss it.

I am so so so looking forward to getting my AF and being able to ttc with some certainty.

DQ - no idea about the pain, if u are still hurting tomorrow might be idea to call NHS direct. A friend of mine who has just come off the pill, is having a very painful run up to her period and gp says this is normal as body get used to being 'normal' again, could this be the same thing?
