Hi everyone, setting up a new months thread for those of us who already know weโ€™re out for August. Iโ€™m going on to cycle 3. Hope this can continue to be a place where we can chat and support one another.

Thanks @PBandJellySandwich & @Muddysocks1.
It looks like the prescription is identical, and the side effects similar to the ones I was advised to look out for.
I am feeling mentally low atm so will probably postpone it for a few weeks.

amey44 · 08/09/2025 16:54

This is the test dry I can kinda maybe see a smidge of something in the pics but irl I canโ€™t see anything ๐Ÿ˜ฉhas anyone used these boots tests before do they tend to have a shadow?

Sorry you're having a weird cycle - I hope you get some answers soon! I complained earlier in the thread about the Easy@Homes, I had an hcG trigger shot for my IUI which I'm testing out and they're absolutely useless. I bought a 20 pack of Wondfos on Amazon and I'm finding them way clearer.

I hope so too! Itโ€™s so unusual for me, I am 7months postpartum so I guess maybe things havenโ€™t fully settled down but Iโ€™ve had 5 periods and cycles that have all been 27-28 days, I just keep thinking surely Iโ€™ll have some spotting soon but nothing
have ordered some of those Wondfos so I imagine my period will show up the same day those do because thatโ€™s how it works isnโ€™t it !

At least theyโ€™ll be there for whenever my next cycle is

amey44 · 08/09/2025 16:39

Unsure if I have line eyes but I thought I saw a line on this test when it was wet but now itโ€™s dried I canโ€™t see anything?

Very interesting @Muddysocks1
Do you remember which medication you were on (or dosage/use)?
In my case I was prescribed utrogestan 100mg tablets for 14 days, with maybe one repeat cycle.

I am.not taking any atm while breastfeeding.

Yes it was Cyclogest 400mg 2x a day, from
a few days after ovulation โ˜บ๏ธ

mrsce · 08/09/2025 15:03

@PBandJellySandwich yea for sure testing tomorrow! I think the fact my
period is due weds and the line being so faint is making me think itโ€™s not real. I could be totally wrong ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

Have just had my fertility phone call - they are getting me booked in for a hycosy, so need to phone tomorrow to get it booked once period has finished. She said can be unpleasant. Anyone had one?

Asked her about progesterone. She said that would be down to the consultant as to whether she felt that would be beneficial. So will speak to her about it when I book in after the hycosy. X

I feel like I'm chiming in on everything ๐Ÿ˜… (TBF I've had 33 cycles TTC across two attempts so have had quite a lot of experience) but yes, I had a HyCoSy when TTC#1 and a repeat one in December last year to check my tubes before starting ovulation induction. I didn't find it too bad, the only bit that was uncomfortable was when they flushed the dye through I had about 20-30 seconds of intense cramping but it passed quite quickly. I was told to take painkillers an hour or so beforehand which I think is a good idea.

They say that HyCoSy can provide a temporary fertility boost for the first three cycles or so after and (not to get your hopes up) this was true for me - we conceived #1 the cycle after I had my first one done.

PBandJellySandwich · 08/09/2025 14:15

I agree with @blackberryhill - the Wondfo tests are the best cheap ones I've found. I got the pack with ovulation and pregnancy tests and both work well

@Angelyoga I was prescribed cyclogest 400mg twice a day during my missed miscarriage (I lost one twin so EPU prescribed it whilst I was waiting for another scan 2 weeks later). Just a word of warning that I felt absolutely awful whilst taking it, 100x worse than during early pregnancy with my daughter. I was told that it increased the chance of a healthy pregnancy by 11%, but sadly it didn't work in my case

@mrsce I always find clear blue tests tricky to read but I can see some colour to the line. Are you going to test again tomorrow? Hopefully the line will be clearer then ๐Ÿคž

mrsce · 08/09/2025 13:44

Hello! I took this test today, Iโ€™m due weds. There was a barely there line up until 10 mins it turned darker blue but shaded blue next to it (thick line) is this an evaporation or positive? Thanks in advance!!

@Muddysocks1@blackberryhillthank you both!!

Did you both have a good experience? Was it all family quick and easy to get an appointment? X

Yes I could have got a next day appt but had to wait a couple of days because of work. Iโ€™d had previous progesterone blood tests so I was able to share those results with the doctor. I didnโ€™t ask about progesterone but he suggested trying it for 3 months. The context for me was slightly low progesterone, TTC for ages, only one pregnancy which ended in a chemical. It was very straightforward. Dr Sami has been on podcasts talking about progesterone supplementation so it definitely sees somethingโ€™s supports (if clinically right).

Iโ€™m cd30 today, could be as much as 16dpo, donโ€™t know didnโ€™t opk.
did both an opk and pregnancy test today, opk was really dark which is why I did the pregnancy test. Negative but another cruel indent or shadow.

is it just me that thinks the easy at home ones are awful if youโ€™re not pregnant or even if testing early?
I tested what I thought was around 10dpo and a few other times too and they all have the worst looking indent that makes you think something is there ! From experience of them before I know when thereโ€™s something there and theyโ€™ve all been negative but wow theyโ€™re so mean.

I did use them in my last pregnancy and got an actual positive at 10dpo that stayed faint for ages, I think I didnโ€™t really get dark til over 20dpo or something but I did have bleeding and a twin loss.

anyway those tests are all gone now so I canโ€™t do anymore ๐Ÿ˜‚

i find it really weird that Iโ€™ve made it to cd30 with no spotting, most of my cycles have been 27-28 days long and I get red or brown spotting 1 or 2 days before. I guess Iโ€™m only really a day or 2 late which isnโ€™t much but yeah it feels unusual for me. And unfair when I just want to move on and get on with the next one!

Yes, my experience was all fine - can't remember what exactly it cost (it wasn't especially cheap from memory) but I signed up and then sent in my request same day and think I heard back within 24 hours. Prescription was posted out and with me 48 hours after approval.

CityKity · 08/09/2025 08:58

@Marvelftw @PBandJellySandwich thanks for sharing your cycle deets. I did listen to a podcast that said if cycles are regular then ovulation is likely to be too which is good to hear.

@PBandJellySandwich my cycles are 26/27 days so have been guessing ovulation on days 12-14 too so letโ€™s see how that goes! DS doesnโ€™t even like sharing me with DH and isnโ€™t a fan of me holding his baby cousins so yea, itโ€™s going to be a wild ride if baby 2 does come along!

@givingitanothergo so annoying AF is
late for you, Iโ€™ve never had a cycle longer than 28 days aside from the cycle I fell pregnant so Iโ€™d find it odd too. Frustrating when you just want to move on to the next one.

Ladies.. really sorry as I have forgotten who might have posted this. But think it might have been more than 1 of you? @Muddysocks1was it you?!
Progesterone being prescribed via an online appointment with a fertility specialist? I'm struggling to get an appointment for a little while with some of the clinics I have contacted. If I can't get progesterone from my NHS appointment Monday I really want to find somewhere that will. For my next cycle x

Plan your baby (online) โ˜บ๏ธ

PBandJellySandwich · 08/09/2025 06:23

@CityKity When I was trying to conceive my first I had pretty regular cycles of 26-28 days and generally ovulated day 12-14. Now with breastfeeding I've had 23-32 day cycles. I always have a 12 day luteal phase so ovulation has been day 11-20! I do get ewcm but it can start anywhere from 1-6 days before ovulation.

I do ovulation tests just so I know when I can do a pregnancy test! If it's a month where I ovulate later I don't want that extra 9 days of hoping only to find out I just ovulated late.

I also get the conflict of TTC a second child. My DD sometimes says she wants a brother/sister, but being only 2 I don't think she gets how it would affect the amount of attention I can give her!

Marvelftw · 08/09/2025 05:36

@CityKity I have very regular cycles. The only time I was ever late on a period was when I was pregnant. My ovulation date is usually on day 15 but sometimes day 16

Hi all, joining back.

Had a misscarriage at 11 weeks in June.

Now ready to try again.

CD8 now so will start Ov testing soon ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

I'm 41, DH is 46, he doesn't want to try anymore than a year so just have to see if we can catch by then ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ™‹โ€โ™€๏ธ Still here quietly reading through, 7dpo and no symptoms last few days which Iโ€™m happy with. Time is passing so slow, even on night shifts! 4 more days till Iโ€™ll test.
@MyPeppyLimeBearAgree with the others, hard to read the chart sorry!
@amey44Itโ€™s so difficult isnโ€™t it, is there a chance you ovulated later this cycle?

Yeah I do think I ovulated later as I had logged ewcm CD 20 and didnโ€™t have my post ovulation symptoms until quite late.

Iโ€™ve felt quite sick multiple times today which is making me want to test however I think iโ€™m unsure if im imagining it๐Ÿ˜ฃand donโ€™t want to get a bfn again

CityKity · 07/09/2025 21:10

@bluepears96 sounds like your timing was perfect! Fingers crossed for you. I wasnโ€™t planning to test unless my period is a no show tbh. So letโ€™s see how strong my resolve is. I feel really rough today, but thatโ€™s because Iโ€™m sick but my mind running wild which is ridiculous. Doubly annoying because I know being sick can throw off my (usually regular) cycles.

General question to those tracking ovulation with regular cycles - really curious to know how much variation there is month to month wihh to your ovulation day? Iโ€™m not tracking and honestly have rarely if ever โ€˜feltโ€™ ovulation or noticed EWCM. I think if thereโ€™s no BFP by the end of the year Iโ€™ll start tracking but not quite ready yet.

@overwork i know you mentioned needing to be convinced for baby 1, and i feel like Iโ€™m in the same boat for TTC round 2. Being sick this week Iโ€™ve felt like such a crappy mum to DS, itโ€™s really given me a wobble as I donโ€™t know how Iโ€™d cope during pregnancy and the newborn stage. Like I said my brain is all over the shop as this is round one TTC - so overthinking a lot.

was just clearing out my many many screenshots of my Ovulation tests and spotting this response from my husband after I sent him this one that that indicated it was game time ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ
