Thanks for looking @Muddysocks1

Ugh, just did 2 more with SMU and stark white negative. Going to put down the tests and go touch some grass.

Anyone else testing soon?

Hi all - been lurking on this thread for about 10 days now so kind of feel like I know you already. Bit weird. Anyway…

So sorry to those who are navigating uncertainty or loss, no matter how early it is. Have been there myself 3 times and it sucks. Hang in there. This forum was a lifeline when I was TTCing my first two and made me feel heard and more importantly, sane!

Which brings me on to…NTNP this month, been tracking my cycles loosely for the last 6 months or so and average about a 28 day cycle give or take a few days.

Thought I was 15DPO today which would mean AF due today and I usually spot all day the day before but none yesterday and (so far) none today.

3 x ICs this morning and need someone to give my head a wobble. I know in my gut these tests are most likely BFN but I may have tricked myself into thinking I can see a vvvvvvvfl on all 3 (yes, 3…)

Which means either way, I have clearly ovulated late but since I wasn’t tracking I have no clue when! So that makes me CDfk knows and fk knowsDPO.

Pics attached if I can figure out how.

I do see something on those!! 🤞🏻

Thank you @Muddysocks1 ❤️I’ve messaged them again half an hour ago. I honestly can’t stop crying and don’t feel mentally okay at the moment. I really appreciate you helping me when you’ve got your own struggles. I guess to get me out of this dark hole I’m thinking now I know I can still get pregnant at my age and we’ve got our daughter ❤️

Edited

Sending you so much love ❤️ hopefully GP comes back and can help xx

Also somewhere like this will do hcg blood tests if you have one nearby: https://www.ultrasound-direct.com/services/blood-tests/beta-hcg-blood-test

re the GP, is it worth just saying how much distress it’s causing and you’re aware 2 hcg blood tests will show if it’s a progressing pregnancy or not? There might be some info online that explains it that you could share with them?

Hi everyone, I'm out for August - period in 2 days and I'm spotting today.

I'll be 37 in 5 months so I'm at the point where I think it won't happen. We had tests last year and we were both fine but what can you do.

Trying to get off the 'you failed' feeling faster this time!

Iris2024 · 28/08/2025 07:58

Muddysocks1 · 28/08/2025 07:46

@Iris2024 i don’t know if this is an option at all but could you get bloods done privately if the gp/clinic won’t?
I had a consultation with Plan Your Baby and if I get a Bfp again, I’m going to do hcg blood tests with them - and they’ll prescribe progesterone if needed. It’s a predicament for me as I’ve just seen the consultant at nhs fertility clinic, but I know they won’t blood tests or offer progesterone

Yeah I’m think this hun as I’m just sat in limbo, no spotting, no sign of bleeding, just sat with positive tests that are not really dark. I might try my GP one more time today. What shall I say?

Short story: had my HCG level taken at hospital after some symptom scares, and everything was negative. They told me all my positive tests were false positives and I’d never been pregnant at all.

WTF, I just don’t believe that. Surely it’s that your levels have now dropped, I can’t believe it’s false positives at all, and that feels so unhelpful for them to say that!

Iris2024 · 28/08/2025 07:36

Just done a first response and it isn’t lighter, the same or a little darker. Who knows! But it’s looking highly likely I’ll miscarry and I don’t feel strong enough.

I’m so sorry @EmPeEf False positives? Did your tests go dark at all? I really want my HCG drawn as I think I’m heading for a miscarriage.

I just don’t see why the nurse didn’t refer me for bloods. My clear blue is lighter today and it’s not fair that I’m sat mentally not okay and sat in limbo. It’s so cruel as it’s my birthday on Tuesday so looks like I’ll lose baby around my birthday. I’ve lost hope now and just waiting to bleed. How I’ll get through work today I don’t know.

Oh @EmPeEf I’m so sorry. It’s so unfair that you’re dealing with this again 😔💔

peanutForever · 27/08/2025 23:45

@EmPeEfreally sorry hope u get some answers from recurrent mc clinic, and yes i would wait till youve finished bleeeing to see if you test negative again x

peanutForever · 27/08/2025 23:44

@Iris2024congratulations! I defo see test progression there- dont wait on the bloods by the time youve begged them you will easily see test progression which will show your hcg is risiing- grab some cheapies and test one then another 48hrs later, thats gna give u the same answer as bloods hopefully then if you still have concerns you can contact them again

SureLook · 27/08/2025 21:45

@EmPeEf I'm sorry you're going through all of this confusion. I think Giddy gave good advice there. Unfortunately it's a case of wait and see ❤️

@Iris2024 you could ring your fertility clinic and explain and see what they say. Is there another private clinic near you that do them? There's a place near me that look after people who are having IVF abroad and they offer HCG bloods to anyone.

OP posts:
ForGiddyDreamer · 27/08/2025 21:18

@Iris2024 that's unreasonable of her because bloods is something she could do. I was referred to the fertility clinic and then got my positive. They rang to book me an appointment and I told them I was having hcg blood draws to check viability because I was cramping and spotting. They said to call them back if I needed them. I wonder might the fertility clinic do the same and still see you if things don't go your way? Much less ethically, you could ring the EPU and ask to have bloods done and play up the blood in the urine. But I honestly say that your tests show progression.

Iris2024 · 27/08/2025 20:43

ForGiddyDreamer · 27/08/2025 19:21

@Iris2024 to be devil's advocate here, might the GP not have did bloods because she doesn't think they're warranted at this stage? I am not dismissing or minimising your concerns (been there myself) but perhaps she isn't concerned about the urine? Did she give you an explanation? Maybe the clinic will be more inclined. Your tests definitely have progression ❤️

She just said it’s not something she could do ☹️ My friend made a point about seeing if I could get bloods through the fertility team I’m under, what if they remove me from their care if find out I’m pregnant and then I lose baby.

ForGiddyDreamer · 27/08/2025 19:47

@EmPeEf I'm sorry you're going through this. Marvel is right that your hcg levels will take time to drop in your urine. They fall quicker in blood as urine is 2-3 days behind. If your bleeding persists and is heavy and the tests darken it might be worth going back to the GP or your local EPU and demand they take bloods to see what's happening.

EmPeEf · 27/08/2025 19:41

I’ve been wearing green sized tempos since yesterday evening, so bleeding quite a bit. Why is it darker than yesterday? 😩

Marvelftw · 27/08/2025 19:24

@EmPeEf If you only properly started bleeding today it’s probably going to take some time for the hcg to completely disappear. Maybe monitor and see?

This is too, Mondays, middle, Tuesday’s and today’s for comparison. Am I still pregnant?
