@givingitanothergo hello and welcome! If you're pretty regular, you could try this month without testing and see how you go. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@LaurLou22 hello and welcome to you too! I'm the same. I conceived my DD first try and have had two losses since. I was very naive starting this journey again.

Ah I’m so sorry to hear this that must have been so awful for you to experience, I’m keeping everything crossed for you!

I think I just need to allow myself to feel the feelings and then get back on it. Silver lining being I can maybe have a nice cocktail at bottomless brunch on Saturday 🤣.

Im exactly the same, first cycle 11 dpo. I know the stats on it happening first go, am a bit older so also my chances are lower, and I’m still shocked and surprised that it didn’t happen. Doesn’t the universe know it should have made it happen anyway? 😂

Frankly it’s just quite rude isn’t it 🤣

Hello, I’m 34 and TTC baby#2. This is our first cycle and I’m not pregnant at 11DPO and I feel soooo bummed! I feel like I need a slap because I know how hard it is for some people to conceive. We fell first time with our daughter so maybe I just thought it would be that easy? I dunno I’m just really sad 😭

I had my appointment with the doctor today. It was mainly just filling out paperwork. She put on my notes for the hospital that I've had 2 early miscarriages. I'm in the Irish system. @SureLook @Ella31 when were you called for first scan in the Public system? Doctor said I'd likely be called in 7 weeks time (12 weeks), that seems awfully long away! I wondered whether the note about the losses would mean they'll bring me in earlier?

@ForGiddyDreamer I decided to go private after losing my sons so I got scanned at the early pregnancy unit at about 6 weeks , My first proper scan was at 8 weeks. Im based in Cork so my obestrician is in cumh. Because of your early loses you can ask your doctor to refer you to the early pregnancy unit for an early scan. And you have every right to be scanned after your losses

givingitanothergo · 14/08/2025 15:58

Hi! We’re casually ttc this month, I’m 36 and would be ttc#3, our second is 6months old so we’re not in a big rush it’s okay if it happens to take months-a year+ but also feel age is not on our side, as well as a personal choice to not want to be having children much older than this, so we don’t want to wait around.

Don’t think it’s easy finding the time to try with 2 littles around. Thankfully they sleep through the night but so do I 😂

Im undecided if I want to bother with ovulation testing this month or just do it as and when we feel like and hope!! My cycle went back to normal pretty quickly after last baby and seems regular.. like clockwork.. so I might just try and leave it so it keeps the pressure off. We will see !!

Good luck to everyone and congrats to those who have had good news so far xx

SureLook · 14/08/2025 14:10

@ForGiddyDreamer yes, it's only in Dublin. I know, it's such a long time to wait. Especially when you've had a loss. Hopefully they'll take you earlier. They'll probably still want to see you at 12 weeks anyway cause that's when they date the pregnancy.

OP posts:
ForGiddyDreamer · 14/08/2025 14:05

Thanks @SureLook I think semi private is only available in Dublin. I'm on the border of Limerick/Tipp but Limerick is closest. I'll see if they can take me for 10 weeks. Waiting for 12 seems so long!

SureLook · 14/08/2025 14:01

@ForGiddyDreamer on my DD I had my scan in the hospital at exactly 12 weeks but went for a private one at ten weeks. It was meant to be 8 but we had Covid. I would ring the EPU if I was you and see if they'll bring you in for an early scan. The guidelines are two losses in a row now so they should accept you.
I should also say I was semi private rather than public. I would imagine you could request early scans if you went fully private. But definitely ring the EPU.

@Muddysocks1 the fertility clinic will definitely be able to help x

@SureLookits still there but tiny so they are keeping an eye on it, and yes lots and lots of nausea, fatigue, dry heaving a lot worse than my DS but i am fully suspecting we are having another DS again!

@Iris2024@ChaE05i havent got an appt yet for my 12 week scan which is quite annoying, but i remember with my son it literally came a few days before...ive also just had my booking appt so maybe soon

@Muddysocks1welcome back, how have you been?

I’m alright thanks, feeling a bit fed up with it all. It’s really draining - I’m losing hope that it will happen naturally now and just holding out hope for the fertility clinic xx

@Ella31 I know, my username is such a giveaway 😂 yeah, the milestones are tough alright. My MMC baby's due date is next week and I'm definitely finding it harder the closer it gets. Something nice for your boys birthday sounds lovely.
It is great about the change but I think the way it has to be two in a row is tricky. But I suppose two is better than three!
Is this your first month back TTC? I'm also 9dpo and will test on Sunday 🤞🏻

@peanutForever that's good that they're keeping an eye. Your symptoms sound wonderful 🥴 but it'll all be worth it!

Hi all. Hoping I can jump on here 😊. Partner and I are trying (ripe old age of 39) for our first. Had miscarriage in April after 5 months trying. Incidental finding of an endometrial polyp which I since had removed in July. So this is our first cycle "cracking on" - as the nurse put it 😂.
Feel so much reassurance reading these forums and knowing so many people in the same situation.
I'm 7dpo today, did a test even though I knew it wouldn't show anything- but here's hoping as there's still time 🤞🏻

Sorry about your loss. Definitely loads of time at 7dpo. Lots of luck to you

Ella31 · 14/08/2025 09:59

LilacBow45 · 14/08/2025 08:43

I’m 6dpo but feeling conflicted. Going away in September and want to enjoy it to its fullest but also don’t want another negative test. Last holiday I was pregnant which sadly ended in MMC so I plan to make up for it this time (not just alcohol) but the food, day trips etc you can’t do when pregnant

Bar the alcohol, if you were early in your pregnancy in September, you'd probably be able to do a lot of things still. Obviously as long as you didn't have sickness but not everyone gets that. Good luck with whatever you choose 😍

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't kept up with this. I took some time out and stopped testing this cycle.
However I've been feeling off, currently CD 21 but unsure when I ovulated as didn't track but I'm usually CD11. I had to test this morning Am I seeing things?! I used one I got from the hospital after MC instead of the clearblue ones. I will test again in a few days and buy some FR ones too. Trying not get my hopes up

I can see something in the first one. Fingers crossed for you😀

SureLook · 14/08/2025 09:39

Sorry, girls. I somehow managed to miss a load of messages when I was replying yesterday evening.

@Ella31 I am so sorry to read your story. That must have been incredibly difficult. You are blessed with your daughter. I really wish you all the best this time. You still have time at only 8dpo x
I'm in Ireland also! The guidelines changed recently around referral after loss. It was three but now it's two. But they have to be consecutive. I know cause I recently had two losses in a row so I've been referred.

@Mash0917 I'm also shocked that that was an indent. I really thought it was a line. Will you test again?

@peanutForever ten weeks already! Has the haematoma resolved now? Have you had many symptoms?

@EmPeEf that's great that things have settled down for you. I'm also hoping it just the right sperm/egg combo too, rather than an issue. I think I remember a conversation on here before about whether or not they consider chemicals for referrals. I'm not sure what the outcome was but its so unfair if they're not considered.

@Iris2024 aww ❤️ our time will come x

@BlueLucy hello and welcome! Sorry to hear of your loss. At 7dpo you still have loads of time so fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@LilacBow45 I understand you being conflicted and wanting to enjoy your holiday. Especially since on your last holiday you were pregnant. For me personally I wouldn't mind being pregnant. We're going away at the end of September but I'll have DD with me so it'll be a different type of holiday anyway. I may or may not be pregnant then so I'll just have to see!

@Kerrylf nice to see you back! Oooh, I think I can see a shadow. Is there colour in real life?

@SureLook I should have known you were Irish by your username 🤣 thanks a mil for your kind words. Absolutely blessed with our daughter. The milestones can be very hard. It'll be our boys second birthday in November so getting nervous about that but we'll do something nice on the day.

That's great about the change. I had two early losses in August 2022 and February 2023 so I wonder did it change after that. I got pregnant with my late twin boys the month after the second loss though so I wouldn't have been referred at all then.

Negative test this morning 9dpo.

How are ye all doing?

ForGiddyDreamer · 14/08/2025 09:48

@Kerrylf I can definitely see a shadow on the first picture! 🤞It darkens next two days

@ChaE05 This is cycle 6, we tried for 6 months January 2024 but stopped for our holiday. We started again in April so 4 months so far. It’s taking over my life and worrying. I just want to get pregnant and start living as even when we stopped for nearly a year I’ve not been happy, hopefully we get our BFP soon!

@ForGiddyDreamer Thank you! We have covered ourselves. Really good the last two months, we’ve just finished three days in a row as today supposed to be ovulation day! Can’t wait to relax 🤣🤣🤣 Hopefully won’t need the hycosy but I’m hoping it will help us! So happy for you that your pregnant and I’m so sorry to hear of your heartbreaking news about your FIL, sending love ❤️

@Ella31 Welcome to the group lovely, all the ladies here are so lovely and so supportive. I’m also so sorry you had to go through such a heartbreaking 💔 experience. I couldn’t even imagine and being so strong to carry on ❤️

@SureLook Your message made me feel emotional 🥲 it’s so lovely having strangers routing for me to fall pregnant ☺️🩷 Hopefully it will be our time soon lovely.

@peanutForever I’m so happy that your pregnancy is going well, when is the 12 week scan now?

Thanks so much. Really rooting for you. Ttc is so hard. I totally get the worrying. I thought after having my daughter I'd be less stressed this time but I found the negative test so hard today. I definitely feel the trauma the last few years has been very overwhelming.

In regards to a hycosy I had one last summer and I conceived my daughter the next cycle. My tubes were clear but the doctor mentioned that even when clear it gives your tubes a good clean out. Definitely can't hurt anyway if you do get one, hopefully you won't need to. It took 8 months to conceive my daughter so it can take time. Because I had fallen pregnant quickly my previous miscarriages and my late twin sons I just assumed it happened quickly, it doesnt always.

I hope you can find peace to not worry. Easier said than done. But I totally get it and rant away here. Everyone is in the same boat trying to conceive so hopefully you won't feel so alone.
