@Roro27 Hello & welcome, first time I conceived 3rd cycle but ended in ectopic. 2nd time I conceived my daughter on 4th cycle. This time I am going into cycle 7 (but I've had a stressful few months). I really liked SO, took a lot of stress away. Apparently Cycles 4-6 are usually the most successful. Do let me know if I can help in any way. Xx

Roro27 · 02/03/2026 15:35

Hi ladies,
For anyone who used CRP and had superovulation due to struggling to conceive (as well as carry), how many cycles did it take you to fall pregnant?

I have an app with Shehata next Tuesday finally 🤞🏼

Deerdancer34 · 27/02/2026 15:18

@Jecca88 That's awful, you poor thing 🫣 Really horrible not to feel comfortable in your own home... Really hope you're ok.
Once I was off the steroids, we did have a nice holiday thank you. Think I needed the break tbh, so hopefully that will help for this time 🙏

@Hopeandfaith1990 Aww the kids will be sooo excited! The kids I taught kept going, I can hear the baby crying, I said 'I hope not!' and also telling me how the baby can come out two ways - TMI in my opinion 😅
We are going to stick with SO for now, as its been a difficult time with my FIL & brother I'm hoping that's why it's not worked yet...Yes I conceived my daughter through SO, so I'm hoping it'll work again. Very relieved not to be going on steroids straight away this time. I'm 🙏🙏🙏
Good luck for your scan!

Jecca88 · 27/02/2026 10:26

Thanks @Hopeandfaith1990 it's just so much of an extra cost that we really don't need right now, not to mention the now sleepless nights i am having - constantly checking our other car is still there and if anyone is in the house.

I was the same, size 14/16 pre pregnancy, i actually feel like i have lost weight but just got it on my belly. My bump only really became noticable after the 20 week mark what i felt. I also have big boobs, so don't know where boobs start and bump began lols. I started wearing the badge when i travel into the office and people generally look but don't ask.

I can't believe you are nearly at 20 weeks - how are you feeling about it? I bet the kids reaction will be soo lovely when you tell them.

Hopeandfaith1990 · 26/02/2026 11:35

@Jecca88 oh my, I'm so sorry about the burglary - I had a nightmare about it happening to me last night and that was bad enough. We got burgled at my family home on Christmas Eve when I was about 13, it was horrific. So sorry. Are the police being helpful? Do you have ring doorbells or anything? It feels so violating. How are you aside from that? How many weeks are you now?

Yes I do have a bit of a bump to be honest! Its hard though because I was about a size 14-16 pre-pregnancy so its not SUPER obvious but Husband is telling me its there even when I just say I'm bloated etc haha. I've still not made it common knowledge at work so I'm having to dress very intentionally to hide it at the moment. I've got the 20 week scan next week so assuming that goes well I will start telling people at work a bit more which will be a relief. And the kids I teach!

@Deerdancer34 so sorry it didn't happen for you this month :( what is your plan going forward? Was your daughter conceived via SO? Hope the rest of your holiday was good - so hard to switch off from this TTC stuff though :(

Jecca88 · 26/02/2026 11:04

amazing news on at the midwife appointment @Hopeandfaith1990 i feel like once you have had a good scan the doopler is enough lols. Are you starting to get your bump?

@Deerdancer34 i am so sorry month 6 didn't work and what a sh*tter on holiday. Have you managed to have a nice holiday after?

We got burgled the night before last and they came and broke into house whilst we were asleep upstairs - stole my husbands bike and car - which is just awful timing and honestly being pregnant already makes you feel so vulnerable. Extra costs and admin plus feeling unsafe - wish our dog Archie was still here - this would have never happened. :(

Deerdancer34 · 24/02/2026 19:29

@Jecca88 24 weeks!!! Just wonderful, I'm so excited for you!!

@LoudAquaMoose Congratulations! I felt a lot better after I had made it to 12 weeks!

@Lalalala77 I am so sorry, I had a PUL after my first 3 miscarriages and I found it really hard. It was an ectopic, if it does end up being an ectopic, don't let the hospital remove your tube unless its absolutely necessary. They were just going to remove mine & it took me researching etc and saying the mass isn't too big to stop them. I really hope you are ok, we're always here for you.

@Hopeandfaith1990 oooo I'm so thrilled for you. Hearing the heartbeat is just magical isn't it!?

@ChaE05 I can't help as this hasn't happened to me but I would wait for your appointment and ask Shehata or Edge directly as the nurses aren't always great with questions like that I've found.

My update - cycle 6 didn't work which I'm heartbroken about.... I feel dreadful towards the end of 10 days of drugs, so I'm thankful not to being doing steroids this time tbh. It was a crap Valentine's Day and start to our holiday in France but there we go!

Lots of love everyone 💗

pagey23 · 24/02/2026 12:33

@ChaE05are you speaking with the nurses or are you able to skip them and speak directly with Shehata or Edge?

Gems2811 · 24/02/2026 12:07

I wasn't, but for an entirely different issue and so don't read anything into my experience with the trigger timings. My ovulation pain on SO dialled up to wanting to call an ambulance bad, which lead me to visiting an endo specialist and finding out I had severe endometriosis and so SO was never going to work for me without a lap first. Can you ask them/your GP to maybe confirm when ovulation has occurred some way? I'm with you on the frustration, it's a lot of money and you want to be getting the timing right

ChaE05 · 24/02/2026 11:16

@Gems2811aghh so frustrating. They just dont seem to be giving a reason as to why. Its alot of money to spend every month if its not being done properly. Were you successful on SO? X

ChaE05 · 24/02/2026 11:09

@Hopeandfaith1990im really in tune with my body and when I ovulate, I get pains. I get ewcm for 5 days before and my period always comes exactly when it should. Once I get a surge I usually ovulate the next day. However even if it did take me 48 hours that would take me to Sunday morning. Triggering Sunday at 9pm is just completely pointless. I feel frustrated that the clinic aren't really explaining their reasons for this despite a few messages sent back and forth. Xx

Ah ok - yes that absolutely is frustrating! Fingers crossed it has worked anyway! Are they against bbt then at CRP?

Hi girls...just looking for some advice from anyone that has done super ovulation. This is my second month and both months of doing it my body has gone into a natural surge before they advise to take the trigger shot.

For example this cycle, I went in on the Thursday for my follice scan- two follices measuring 17 and 15.3. Told to take trigger shot at 9pm on Sunday. Then friday morning I got a very positive opk, had also had ewcm for days leading up to this so knew my body would ovulate soon.

I emailed the clinic immediately to see what they advised. Thinking they would say to take the trigger shot that evening as my body had already started a natural surge. Instead they replied at 7pm telling me to have intercourse but stick to the plan of triggering at 9pm on Sunday! With no explanation as to why?! Why would I take the trigger shot AFTER I ovulated? I took the trigger friday evening anyway. This also happened to be the first month x

I’ve not done SO so I’m no expert — but could it because although you’ve had a surge there’s still about 48 hours in which you could ovulate - so the surge doesn’t actually have to mean you ovulate then, you can only really confirm that with tracking temps or having scans?

OP posts:
Gems2811 · 24/02/2026 10:03

Hi @ChaE05 it's really confusing isn't it. This happened to me a couple of times as well, I never got to the bottom of it or worked out whether I'd ovulated earlier than they thought I'm afraid. I was tracking my temperatures and it definitely looked from those that I was ovulating before my trigger but they said they didn't go off temp tracking. Tricky!

Hi @Jecca88 so good to hear from you and WOW viability that is amazing!!! Sooo happy for you. how are you feeling? Has it been okay telling people?

My midwife appt is today, will update after. I’m 17.5 weeks, also starting to show a bit but also quite bloated. I’m officially off the Pred as of last Tuesday! Feels mad.

If I was ever unsure about whether Pred masks pregnancy symptoms I’m not now, as since I’ve been off it I’ve been more tired and nauseous lol. I also got bad heartburn which I think the Omeprazole took care of before. My appetite has decreased too and my face seems to be slowly depuffing (I hope lol)

Amazing news @LoudAquaMoose re 12 weeks and NIPT. How are you feeling?

Sending love to everyone and a tentative check in @Objectiontime hope your final few weeks have been okay!!

How are you doing @Lalalala77? Xxx

Jecca88 · 19/02/2026 10:42

@LoudAquaMoose I am at Kings too! it is rather posh, and actually restored my faith in that centre this time round as my first every pregnancy i had such a bad exp when finding out at that scan i had a missed miscarriage.

Yes feel so much better being off the roids. People actually have been saying i look like i lost weight haha despite being 6 months pregnant - because i just had such a big face.

x

LoudAquaMoose · 18/02/2026 17:35

Hey @Jecca88 ,

Thanks for the message and congrats on viability. Just WOW!

@Lalalala77 im so sorry for you. Utter devastation- it’s all so unfair and I’m thinking of you so much ❤️❤️.

I had 13 week on Monday at kings (fanciest nhs ive ever been) and all was well. NIPT clear too so my stress levels have dropped a lot and hope they stay that way. Excited to be off the roids soon too!

thinking of you all

Jecca88 · 18/02/2026 17:01

Hey Ladies,

Sorry been quiet on here recently, just getting through each day - i am currently 24 weeks and still cannot believe it, having to tell people now as i really am showing and its harder to hide. How is everyone doing?

@Deerdancer34 how are you my love? how this month going? its good to know you can continue but without the pred? the stopping and starting is a lot.

@Hopeandfaith1990 how are you getting on? Have you had your midwife app yet?

Congrats @LoudAquaMoose that is incredible. I feel like your 12 weeks has gone fast - but prob feels like forever for you. How are you feeling?

welcome @Roro27 i also tried to combine my CRP and when my NHS referral came through - but they wouldn't allow it - i had to choose and i stayed with CRP as they did the extra stuff but i could have saved a lot of money. But i do think they would take the NHS results if they were in date and maybe run a few extra ones.

I am so sorry @Lalalala77 this is awful - how are you recovering - has their been any update. Don't lose hope. I turned 37 last year and with 7 miscarriages and no living children. I have now made it to Viability week with my 8th pregnancy which i never thought i would get to. Still count my lucky stars and still a way to go but it can happen.

Hopeandfaith1990 · 11/02/2026 20:14

@Lalalala77 oh I’m so sorry to read this :-( my first ever pregnancy was a PUL then diagnosed as ectopic a bit later on. It’s so hard.

I also empathise with the friendship thing. I started trying 4 years ago and was first of my close group (apart from one) and now 5 of them have babies and 2 are currently pregnant. It feels mad and is so hard :(

sending you loads of love xxx

@Lalalala77so sorry to hear this, I pray things get better for you - I really hope you have your rainbow baby soon! The waiting part is the worst isn’t it? We’re here if you need a rant or a chat

Lalalala77 · 11/02/2026 18:59

@Hopeandfaith1990 massive congratulations! You must feel so relieved! I agree with you - if I ever get that far I don’t think I could cope having scans so far apart and would have to supplement with private scans between.

@LoudAquaMoose congratulations! It’s so so lovely to see all the good news in this thread, really gives me hope. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is very uneventful and full of joy 😊

Unfortunately I had some bad news at the 6 week scan today and have been given the PUL diagnosis. This is actually the first time I’ve had this, my 4 previous pregnancies always got to at least 6 weeks with a sac/ heartbeat so it’s a different trajectory for sure. I’m wondering if this was just a bad egg/sperm/embryo combination and didn’t really get off the ground. I did think this would happen going in as my tests had stalled or only got very slightly darker over the past 2 weeks so it wasn’t really a shock - just frustrating that it’s happened now when I’m finally medicated. I’m scared that it’s never going to happen for me, I’m turning 37 in the summer and have been at this for a few years now with no living children. All my
friends have either had kids in that time or are currently pregnant and not a single one has had an issue.
Im waiting on my HCG blood tests from today to come back as they weren’t sure if they could see a sac or a polyp just outside the uterine lining or if it might be elsewhere.

I just want it to be over now so we can move on to trying again I guess!

AmzTTC · 11/02/2026 17:52

Oh wow thank you all for the warm welcome. I listened to all of your advice and had POM juice and beetroot juice and my lining today was 8.2! However my follicles were all below 7mm which is weird for CD13 so that’s now a concern. One thing after another. Has this happened to anyone? I was on 10mg of letrozole too so Prof Shehata was super confused too. Sigh.

Hopeandfaith1990 · 11/02/2026 07:28

Hey @Roro27 so sorry for your losses. Welcome to the group no one wants to be a part of - good thing is this page is amazing and welcoming and everyone understands.

I tried to combine NHS and CRP at the beginning of my journey but it wasn’t really possible. CRP wanted all the testing redone and some, and NHS said they have to discharge me from recurrent miscarriage if I went private. I do feel like they wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t told them though 😂 I’ve ended up doing IVF and staying with NHS, haven’t had anything private from CRP. I’m under Epsom hospital recurrent miscarriage, so Dr Shehata is the head of that anyway so I basically get the basic version of his private plan (eg without intralipids)

Some other ladies on the thread I think have gone the NHS —> CRP route so they might have more insight re costing etc xxx
