@Hopeandfaith1990@Jecca88 @pagey23 @Rainbowchaser87 Thank you ladies for your lovely words. We're just reeling from the shock and I know it will be a process to comes to terms with. It's never the right time to lose anybody but it feels too early. At least my husband is talking about it. To add insult to injury, my brother rang last night to say he'd been diagnosed with lymphoma, so waiting on prognosis of that. Anyway one day at a time is my motto with anything I find hard 😅
We had actually already triggered, so I'm continuing with the meds this cycle but I doubt implantation will work...would be a lovely miracle! Sorry for the dampener, give everyone you love an extra squeeze 💓

@Deerdancer34 sending you all my love, I’m so sorry :-( life can be so cruel. Thinking of you xxx

@Gems2811 I am soo really sorry…my love and prayers are for you now….

@Deerdancer34so sorry for u too…sending you love and prayers too…

Jecca88 · 15/12/2025 11:01

Oh my god @Deerdancer34 i am so sorry for your loss. Sending you so much strength in this horrible time. You poor thing, it just doesn't feel fair to have that much grief and around this time of year too. How are you?

pagey23 · 15/12/2025 10:05

@Gems2811gosh this is so awful. I’m so sorry to hear. Is there anything that you can take to lower the risk of it happening again or is it more luck of the draw kind of thing? Take care and look after yourself during this time. It’s really good to know the cause - I’ve had two miscarriages and didn’t even know it was possible to find out!

@Deerdancer34what a shock - you must all be going through so much😢 I’ve had this happen a few times and it’s hard to get your head around it. So sorry to hear this and take care. it might be worth skipping this cycle if it’s too overwhelming and they do say you need a break from the meds every 6 months so it might be a good time if you are coming up to that time? Big hugs

Deerdancer34 · 15/12/2025 09:51

@Gems2811 I am so sorry, its really not easy. It helps a bit to know the reason for your loss but it doesn't make it any better. Hopefully they will offer you testing and that will give you a bit more reassurance to carry on 😘

We lost my Father in Law very suddenly, so I'll be surprised if this cycle works 😔 Depends how much grief affects biology I suppose.

Lots of love everyone ❤️

Jecca88 · 15/12/2025 06:20

Oh @gems2811 I’m so sorry to read this, I can totally relate and it really took me back when we found out our boy from Jan this year had trisomy 21. He died at just 12 weeks, but I was in a way relieved that I didn’t have to make any decision and it was taken out of our hands despite the absolute heartbreak.

It too shook me up going forward - however the hospital should offer you parental karyotype test to check if either you or your partner carry a translocation for trisomy 13- to see your chances of it happening again. Sending love! Xxx

Hopeandfaith1990 · 13/12/2025 06:58

Thank you all! Really trying to work on the old positive mindset because my mind has been to some very dark places this week 😅

@Gems2811 I’m so sorry, it must have been incredibly difficult to receive that news and I can understand how it would impact your confidence going forward. I agree that there’s reassurance in knowing it wasn’t immune, and perhaps also that there was literally nothing more you could have done to protect him, as crushingly heartbreaking as that is, you did everything you could. Sending love xxx

@Hopeandfaith1990 so happy for you! I was so hoping to read this 🩷 so wonderful

Got everything crossed for the 23rd for you @Deerdancer34

Thank you for this @pagey23 and that does sound like a good idea

Thank you for your insight on the testing @Hopeandfaith1990 and @Jecca88 , I got a phone call today when I followed up and baby had Patau syndrome trisomy 13 and he was a little boy. I feel very sad but there’s some reassurance for me that it wasn’t immune related. It has shaken my confidence to try again though 😔

Deerdancer34 · 12/12/2025 15:33

@Jecca88 I realised I counted the days wrong, pregnancy test 23rd, so have booked in for 23rd in case it is positive 🙏 Would be lovely...

@Hopeandfaith1990 Completely over the moon for you 🥰🥰🥰🥰 It's really wonderful news!

Much love to all 💞

Jecca88 · 12/12/2025 13:10

ahhhh the news i was coming on here to read @Hopeandfaith1990 yay! Keep taking it day by day my love - you have got this :)

Hopeandfaith1990 · 12/12/2025 11:54

All good guys, baby still has a heartbeat and is measuring 7w3d so exactly right for one week on. Almost doubled in size 🥰 relieved and really going to try and work on my anxiety management now I’m on my last day of school for the Christmas holidays too. Love to all xxx

ladies who aren’t pregnant yet and mentally struggling, have a watch of this - it may help. I’ve been following this woman for a few months now and I find her videos quite insightful but also mindset videos like this really help me. I’m sharing in case it may help you too. I’m actually thinking of signing up to her fertility circle

Jecca88 · 10/12/2025 09:25

ahhh sounds awful @ChaE05 - i think its worth talking to the GP to see if you can get some CBT for the health anxiety - it really helped me. I remember after my first loss - it took me about 9 months to concieve again, but then on average its about 2-3 months for each pregnancy after.

ahh @Gems2811 its defo worth calling up and seeing if they have the results back and to call as soon as they have them. Are you hoping they find nothing on the cytogenetics and you can just move on with a FET?

@Deerdancer34 sounds like a much needed break. Nightmare about the xmas eve pregnancy test - fingers crossed for you. I know that CRP want to try and get the intralipids as close to 4 weeks apart but a few days here or there is not major. It really depends when you have the pre-ovulation one.

I am sorry @TammyinCork - so shit but i know that months can change so much with scans and follicles and until stimulation you won't know. I was told i would be lucky if i got 4 eggs and i got 23.

@Hopeandfaith1990 will be thinking of you on Friday. Is the Scan in the morning?Glad you told HR, but you're right its so hard to get it unless you have been through it. Its totally all consuming. I have been there and feeling like I just could not get through it, but somehow each week i have and you will be surprised at your resilience of just putting one foot in front of the other. Its not enjoyable but please be kind to yourself.

Hopeandfaith1990 · 09/12/2025 20:30

Hi all, just catching up.

@Gems2811 I agree with Jecca, my genetic testing probably took about 6-7 weeks to come back, I would chase with the Gynae department - recurrent miscarriage operate under them.

@Deerdancer34 Your counselling sounds so interesting and therapeutic. I wouldn't mind knowing the details if you're happy to share. My anxiety is so bad right now I need to be talking to someone tbh but its just another expense isn't it. Getting away at Christmas sounds lovely, I don't know how intralipids work but could you see if you could get in for one just before you leave?

@ChaE05 health anxiety is so hard, and I think its just made even worse by experiencing miscarriage where so much is out of your control. I was also on the Hydroxy for a year and didn't have any side effects from it - bar slightly dry skin but easily remedied. I did come off the Hydroxy at the advice of an IVF consultant I saw, but I've no idea if that was the right thing to do. I still have anxiety about it now thinking I should be taking it as I'm 7 weeks pregnant now. I think lots (tons of this thread historically if you scroll through) have successfully taken Hydroxy and for some its even been a gamechanger drug for them. I had my eye tests and all was fine after a year of being on it. I'm quite impacted by the Pred in the way of insomnia but that is an extremely common side effect of all steroids really. As Jecca says, you could give yourself a few months on it and track how you feel and go from there.

@Jecca88 lovely news on your scan, and how amazing to see him moving - must have been very special. An hour though! Wow. I can imagine it was so triggering going back to that place. You'll never forget your first loss there but I really hope with every positive experience it becomes less triggering ❤.

@TammyinCork What cycle day are you for your scan? Was the doctor basically saying its too thick already? What protocol do they want you on? Sorry for all the qs! Why did the dr put your on microgynon? To induce a bleed? Sending love sorry you've not got many answers :(

I'm going in for my scan on Friday, really bricking it but at the same time trying to be positive. PAL is just so hard. I ended up speaking to HR and my school's deputy head and have had some of my duties reduced this week but no one really gets it properly do they, even when they're trying to be sympathetic. So grateful for this group! x love to all x

Incidentally, Microgynon is not a licensed medication here in Ireland - I only got it due to sheer luck. Which is strange, as I was on it in the UK back in 2012, when I was in a different relationship, with no problems!

TammyinCork · 09/12/2025 19:37

Hello all, just to say that the aloe vera juice was recommended to me on a Facebook forum, UK Reproductive Immunology Support, and I take a small capful of the stuff (from Holland and Barrett) every day.

In other news, I've been caught up with trying to organise the IVF in Spain, and got some shitty news today. Apparently my basal ultrasound scan showed a lining of 10mm and a 17 mm dominant follicle, which means that the doctor doesn't think we should start treatment just yet. I am beyond disappointed... I will get a follow-up call from the doctor tomorrow morning, but just wondered if anyone knows what this means?

I also had considerably fewer follicles than the scan in October (which had showed 15), and wondered if this is due to taking Microgynon for the last 2-3 weeks, as the IVF doctor recommended?

Hope everyone is doing really well...

Deerdancer34 · 09/12/2025 15:54

@Jecca88 I'm just going to Wales but my 3 brothers and all their kids are coming, so want to see them. I'm to do Pregnancy test Christmas Eve (😅🎄Happy Christmas 😅) I wasn't going to come back until 2nd Jan. I could maybe do 30th or 31st but that would be 6/7days after 🤔 I've always wondered about intralipids but then you feel if you don't do them then you'll be jinxed or something 😅

Gems2811 · 09/12/2025 15:50

It’s so overwhelming @ChaE05 , I felt like this too. I find Prednisolone really taxing but the hydroxy actually I don’t notice at all and give been on those solidly now for almost a year. I had a lot of anxiety about the intralipids but the cost is the worst thing about them haha

@Jecca88 yes my Dr wants to know the results from my cytogenetic testing before my FET because if it wasn’t chromosomal I think he might want to investigate further. I had to cancel my appt on Monday because they haven’t arrived yet and I’m just in a panic with their Christmas closure. I remember being in floods of tears because it was like this with CRP last year. My cycle was late and I needed a follicle tracking scan the day before New Years Eve. So happy for you that you’re heading into the festive season with good news xxx

ChaE05 · 09/12/2025 15:45

@Deerdancer34great to know you didn't suffer any side effects. I need to fully process it all and have a talk with my partner about it all x

ChaE05 · 09/12/2025 15:44

@Jecca88oh I didn't know you were pregnant. Amazing 🥰 so happy for you. How far gone are you? After 7 mc 🥺 did it take you long on his plan?
I just worry for me, although I have had 2 early losses its actually getting pregnant that seems to be a big problem now. I fell first time with my son. He's just 2. Then fell 3rd cycle trying for this one which obviously resulted in a loss, fell immediately again, chemical. Now 9 cycles of nothing. We are also waiting for partners DNA fragmentation results to come back.
How do I manage my health anxiety? I don't 😅I just make myself and everyone around me suffer. Side effects - dry eyes = I'm going blind.
Tinnitus- I'm doing deaf. Losing hair= I will go bald. But it will play on my mind so much. I don't know if I can put myself through it , but obviously so desperately want a baby x

Jecca88 · 09/12/2025 15:32

I think it can be overwhelming reading all the side effects from drugs @ChaE05 - try if possible to stay away from it - as hard as that is. It can take a while to digest the results so be kind to yourself and really digest it this week, mull it over with your partner. Maybe give yourself a specific time frame to start? how do you manage you health anxiety? have you got any therapy for it? I think even a slightly raised NK cells can cause early losses, and CRP have a 80% success rate. I am willing to take anything if it helps and who ever knows if this will works and if its down to the CRP, but its the furthest we have got and I have had 7 miscarriages before this - only 1 of them was a genetic issue.

Thanks my love @Deerdancer34 - so i tested positive on a sunday - which i think i would have been about 4 weeks and had my intralipids on the Tuesday, but bear in mind i didn't have any pre-ovulation intralipids and was only on the Hydroxy at the time so had to start the pred and progesterone at 4 weeks, i am guessing 14 DPO. Where are you going for Xmas? when is your ovualation day predicted?

Deerdancer34 · 09/12/2025 15:21

@Jecca88 I'm so pleased your scan went well! Enjoy Christmas, you deserve to! Can I ask how long after your positive did you have intralipids? They said to me today 2-5 days but I'm going to be away over Christmas...

@ChaE05 Its very overwhelming. If it helps I've had no side effects from Hydroxy and then intralipids and progesterone no side effects. Pred can make you feel jittery and sleep can suffer but I kind of got used to it. It's hard because nothing is certain and you don't know but for us personally we felt we had no other options, so gave it a go. The meds are to help sustain a pregnancy, Superovulation boosts your chances of conception.

@Hopeandfaith1990 Good luck for Thursday 💖

ChaE05 · 09/12/2025 14:43

@Jecca88thanks for your reply and so sorry you suffer too. Debilitating isn't it? I just know how my brain will work taking all these meds. The anxiety will be too much. I just keep reading people saying they have had hair loss, tinnitus, sickness, eye problems. Just scares me! Yes also wants me on pred until 16 weeks. Along with progesterone and the intralipids. My Nk cells were only slightly elevated and the activation borderline? He said the ones tested for implantation and miscarriage were normal. We have been unsuccessful in falling pregnant for 9 months now since our last 2 early losses. I really want to believe this is the answer but I just feel unsure this is the reason why. I don't feel certain this is going to get us pregnant. But again, I feel like that might be my anxiety making me feel that way.

Jecca88 · 09/12/2025 14:05

Hey @ChaE05 I too have health anxiety, but have managed it with meds (ironically) and therapy. But i have been put on Hydroxy for the past two years, luckily i have not had any side effects and actually barely notice a difference. How do you feel about trying it for a couple of weeks and see how you get on? I think you could prob try without it, but he seems to think this has a real good impact on pregnancy outcome. have you also been prescribed Prednisilone?

Also - Prof Shahata has actually told me he took Hydroxy himself when he had covid and it really helped him. Random but he is a real advocate for it.
