I am in my second cycle since my MC in March. I was always 27 - 29 days regularly, even after first MC I went straight into my regualr cycle. This time it has been different. My first cycle after MC was 33 days and tody I am cd31. I always get sore chest just before my af, but I have nothing at the moment.

I just have one test stick left from a set of 5 from the internet. (I have not bought any more as I can not buy them very easily here in Spain and they are very expensive.

I am really confused as I am not sure if I have even OV'd this month either.

Does anyone have any ideas what to do. Should I risk using my last test stick or wait. It is possible to be pregnant without any sore chest of any other symptoms of pregancy.

Thank you.

Singingintherain · 30/05/2008 07:44

Just running between two threads. So sorry for any repeats.

Still cna not believe it, but will wait until Monday to re-test to be certain.

Back and wanted to update.

Had a test by a company called clearview. Not sure of how sensative the test was in Doctors, but it is the one that they use. This test was a casette type.

The result was read after 5 minutes and to her surprise she said there was a very faint second blue line.

To be sure she has given me another testo do at home when I feel ready.

Now after half an hour there is the same lines although both a little faded now.

Fingers crossed for my second test at the weekend.

Squack, Thanks for information.

Just wondered if evap line that was greyish or ghost like becuase of the colour of the dye in the test stick. For example, grey with a blue one and pale pink with a burgundy one.

Just wondered. Still in debate as to whether or not a positive result. No conclusion drawn yet.

Going to Doctors in ha an hour with old tests.

The stick is very tiny. I is 4 inches long with a little line for dipping to. It looks like a lolly stick according to my daughter.

A sudden rush of burgundy went up to the next filter (slightly extra thickness to stick. I waited but nothing appeared until 11 minutes. I was sure I could see where the line should have been, so I got out an old stick and looked. You could that the lines although one very very faint was in line with the other. The colour of the line was still pink eventhough hardly there at all.

After a while the lines were the same and still dark burgundy. After 35 minutes, the main line is now dark purple and the other is very very faint lilac.

I have emailed the company I bought them from and are waiting for a reply.

I have an appointment later with the nurse, but I will not have a sample to take with me. So we are trying to move it until tomorrow morning when I can take a sample with me from first thing.

I am so nervous that I can not clean the house today. Good excuse not to do anything. I still wish I had waited. I am not sure what came over me to suddenly want to test. I had a very strange feeling and went and did it without thinking. I think.

I think you might be pregnant

I second a visit to the doc's though.

Evaporation lines don't generally have colour to them. If the line was there at 10 minutes then it's a faint positive. After 10 and it appears probably evap. but I've always found then to be greyish or like a white ghost line.

If the test has picked up any colour it has detected hcg in your urine.

Good luck at the doc's, it sounds hopeful.

Singingintherain · 29/05/2008 11:08

Still had another look. It has now dried out and is dark purple the same as the other, but the indication of a positive is very very faint still. I can see if from 12 inches away now, rather than by looking in the sunlight. My neighbours must be wondering what I am doing.

DH is calling a different Doctor, but he only works at 6.00pm. He is trying to ask receptionist what they do about testing.

Now really confused and think I should have waited.

If it were on 10 minutes would this still be an evaporation line. Some say after 30 minutes even.

this is what I hate about pregnancy tests! They can give very ambigous results sometimes - they lead you to believe they are very accurate but in reality they aren't.

Singingintherain · 29/05/2008 10:31

Not sure.

My old one went purple when dry.

This on is still pink even now. Test was done 30 mins ago. The packet says do not go over 10 mins.

SOunds like an evaporation line, a positive line should be seen faster then ten minutes. Yes go to the doctors if you can.

Singingintherain · 29/05/2008 10:22

Just decided to go and use it. The result is not very clear. I looked at it and the first pink line came immediately. But nothing else. I waited the maximum 10 minutes and had a look again inthe sunlight. You can se a very very faint line but hardly anything. I compared it to my other result sticks and the line is in the same place when you hold them side by side.

I am unsure if this is really a positive or is it an evaporation line. I am not sure what one of them is either.

Going to have to go to Doctor I think.

Hi - do you think you've got a urinary tract infection? - that could be causing you to wee often, and the difficulty in weeing, and it could also be causing your cramps. Drink plenty of water.

And for the pregnancy test - only use the strongest morning wee- collect it in a clean pot if necessary.

Do the doctors really not speak much english? You really need to find a doctor that you can rely on, especially if you are pregnant.

I live in Belgium, but I learnt flemish when I got here 6 years ago so have never had problems seeing a doctor.

Squack · 29/05/2008 09:55

nothing will show up 3 days after conception lol

maybe 3 days before your period is due.

10 is the units of hcg it will detect a positive at, which is one of the early testing types of hpt.

I would pee in a cup the next time you go to the toilet. If it looks like strong yellow coloured wee then you could test. If it's pale then don't.

first morning wee is best if testing early. Anytime wee if you're late and pg should detect the hcg.

Good luck!

Singingintherain · 29/05/2008 09:11

I am really going to struggle using it at the moment. When I use the bathroom I hardly go , but have to go every hour as though I am desperate.

I am not sure if there will be enough and if it will be strong enough to give a good result. As this is my last stick before I can get hold of any more, I am really worried about getting a negative and wanting to try to test again before any arrive.

Sorry if too much information.

The only stick I have is 10??? something or other. Is this the correct type of stick for an early detection. I know that some other are higher. I read that you can test with 10's as much as 3 days after conception.

What do you think?

POAS!

If this is late for you and no AF then go poas and report back

Singingintherain · 29/05/2008 08:49

Hi belgo, where are you from? It is good that at least I have contact with others like myself. I really need the support that I get from here.

It is hard for me to even see a Doctor. None of them speak English and I end up using the medical insurance company I have for them to find me somebody to help. I have records in all different places and I never see the same person twice.

Well today is CD33, the longest cycle I have ever had, cramps are worse than ever and can not stop going to the bathroom. But I have not give up hope yet. I went through all my bathroom and found the last stick, but have decided not to use it until some more arrive.

My DH has tried for me but it looks like I will have to get them myself and ask someone to translate how to use it. Unless the Doctor will do it for me.

belgo · 28/05/2008 16:29

I always found a negetive test almost soul destroying. I would much rather that my period turned up as a way of not knowing I was pregnant - at least then I was into the next cycle and there was hope then for the next cycle.

I also live in a country where pregnancy tests are expensive! Please try and wait, you'll feel better for it.

Singingintherain · 28/05/2008 16:25

Just going to try to get some more sticks from internet. The trouble is I am afraid they will not come in time and I will end up worrying waiting for them and go and try to get some here.

DH says he is going to ask at Doctors for me, what they do about testing. Probably will have to make an appointment to speak to him. Worth a go though. I tried to have a look in pharmacy, but they are not in English, so will need to find out how to use them if they are different from English brands.

Anyway, still can not find last stick. I still believe this is fate and I am not meant to test yet.

Squack · 28/05/2008 14:34

I t depends on whether you ae due. wait until you are late then poas.

Of course if it were me I'd pee on it now

Singingintherain · 28/05/2008 14:28

Just started with the most terrible period style cramps. Now convinced AF is on its way. Did have them before on implantation, but did have other pregnancy symptoms at the same time.

Looks like I won't need my test after all this month. But, fingers crossed just in case.

Do you know if it would be worth testing at this point anyway if AF is due and having cramps, just in case it could be implantation.

I was in a similar position to you just a few months ago, I also concieved my two dds with no significant problems. Then I had two m/cs, both of which took longer to concieve in the first place.

But just as dh and I were at our lowest point, we went on holiday, concieved and now I'm five months pregnant.

Miscarriages are unfortunately very common, most of my friends who are in their thirties have had miscarriages but it's not always a sign of a major problem.

My cycle was always a little bit unpredictable - between 28 and 35 days - but I think that's still within the normal range. But I steered clear of temping and OPKs because I didn't want TTC to become a scientific procedure, and as I had concieved my first two babies without a problem, I knew the chances were very high that I was still fertile. It's probably the same for you too - you have two children, and that's a very good sign that you will have another child.

But you have to stay hopeful, try not to feel the pressure, have sex when you and dh want to have sex and try and keep it fun.
