How old was your first when you started trying for a second?

Just trying to get an idea of what the typical range is.

18 months. Thought it would take a few months

18 months and then took 18 months to conceive so we actually ended up with an almost 4 year gap but it worked out for the best. I suspected we'd have issues though! If I'd conceived my first quickly I'd have waited as didn't want a small gap.

16 lol. I've wanted another child for years but didn't meet the right person until a few years ago.

Just started TTC, if we'd met when I was a little younger I would have probably left if about another year but time isn't on my side anymore and I'm already showing symptoms of peri-menopause.

Eldest was 5 months when youngest was conceived. There’s 13 months between them.

2.5. I fell pregnant within a couple of months and would have been due on 12.7.25 but unfortunately we lost that baby to an early miscarriage in November. Been trying again since January and no luck yet

just before 3 years old - 2 miscarriages and then one successful pregnancy - resulted in a 4 year gap. It’s a great gap to have though.

I am in the same position, due any day now and it’s reassuring to read this! We wanted #2 sooner but my losses delayed that, and I’ve been worrying about a 4 year gap x

Started trying when my eldest turned 1, fell pregnant when eldest was 19 months old.

8 months, I would have started earlier but I wanted them to avoid a july/August birthday if possible in case they weren't school ready at just 4 (i didn't know about deferring at this point)

It took almost a year to conceive the first time, so we started trying when DC1 was seven months, thinking it would take ages. It didn't, I conceived immediately which was a bit of a shock.

Eldest was about 1.

Only took 3 cycles to fall preg so two years between 1st and 2nd.

Very broody for no.3 when no.2 was one year old and again fell v quickly so 2 years between 2nd and 3rd.

Lovely gap - i had three under 5 at one point but was all good as stages all flowed and had all equipment ongoing ect.

Had no. 4 a lot later and had to start again fresh!

All 4 are DDs 😊

My 3 'big ones' are adults now and they're close which is lovely and they spoil their little sister!
