@ForGiddyDreamer Thank you! I’m feeling alright! Still kind of taking it in. So weird how something so planned can still be super surreal?

Well done for not testing. Waiting til Friday sounds like a good idea. I wish I could fast forward the next 36-48 hours for you! Hopefully this weekend will be for celebrating 🎉 💕

@FarAwayBird lovely line on that test 🥰 how are you feeling?

I feel OK today. Have had work to distract me but have did some mad googling at the same time. I didn't do any tests today. I plan* to hold off till I get the results of both blood draws on Friday. I'm afraid to look in case they're lighter tbh. Have second draw tomorrow morning.

FarAwayBird · 06/08/2025 21:23

Hello all! Goodness this thread moves fast. Sorry, I’m behind again.

Congrats @rainycoldboo we’ll be due around the same time.

Welcome @HayleyD84, I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope you don’t have to wait too long this time around 💕

Oh @Esssa I’m sorry it wasn’t your month 😔 hopefully you won’t be far behind us!

@ForGiddyDreamer Sorry to hear about the spotting. It’s so stressful. I remember bleeding a lot in the first trimester with my daughter. I sobbed on the way to the hospital but everything was fine. Keeping fingers crossed! So glad you’ve got the aspirin and progesterone. Sorry to hear about DP’s dad, too. How are you feeling?

@YKM2829 Urgh. I’m so sorry, it’s so frustrating that they couldn’t just give you the progesterone. Like… what harm would it have done??

@ChaE05 sorry about AF 😔 fingers crossed for the next cycle!

@Iris2024 Best of luck this cycle! Hope your DP’s test goes well on Friday.

@amey44 I’m sorry you’re stuck in limbo. To be honest, I would test… but I have zero chill. Do you have any cheapies?

@EmPeEf I hope ovulation doesn't keep you waiting too long! Must be frustrating when things get unpredictable.

I’m 13dpo today. Period was due Monday so feeling a little bit less nervous now. Going to drop into the doctors surgery today. They require a urine sample to confirm pregnancy and start intake… apparently they can’t just take my word and the 87 tests I’ve done since Saturday 🤪

And thank you, @SureLook - I have, indeed, continued to test! So nice to see a definitive line, finally.

@amey44 God, it's so confusing! Maybe give it another couple of days and if no AF by Friday do another test.

amey44 · 06/08/2025 11:48

SureLook · 06/08/2025 11:41

@amey44 did you continue to test or did you leave it? Maybe it was failed ovulation and your body tried again later.

No I didn’t think i’d ovulate later as I have ovd around CD12-15 for the past few months 🥲I did do a test CD 21 and it went back up to 0.7 but didn’t continue to test as I ran out and assumed it was too late anyway because I was staying with relatives so couldn’t bd

I didn’t bd between CD 19-24 so if I ovd then I don’t think I have a chance

@amey44 how many DPO are you? I can't remember if you track ovulation or not.

I got a positive opk on CD 16 however I obviously don’t think it’s possible to have ovulated then and not got a positive or af so I must’ve ovulated later

SureLook · 06/08/2025 11:27

amey44 · 06/08/2025 11:23

AF still hasn’t arrived and I was adamant it was here yesterday because of cramping but no? I’m so nervous to take a test and for once actually don’t want to test but i’m CD 37 now I last tested CD34? What would you ladies do if you were me aha I don’t know if it’s just me being a test addict 😬

SureLook · 06/08/2025 11:00

@Iris2024 best of luck for this cycle 🤞🏻

@ForGiddyDreamer glad to hear that you're feeling better. If you don't have a medical card, apply for the Drug Payment Scheme. It means your prescriptions will be capped at €80 a month. I'm assuming progesterone and aspirin are covered under this scheme. But definitely check it out.

@PeonyPatch I'd echo what Giddy said. Every second day is plenty! And then increase around ovulation. We're the same with schedules. DP works shift now so it does make it trickier.

PeonyPatch · 06/08/2025 10:28

ForGiddyDreamer · 06/08/2025 10:11

@PeonyPatch we did that for two cycles and it just became so mechanical. I'd try for every second day. Could always try day before and day of ovulation back to back to cover yourself. I think sperm need to be replenished too in between.

Yeah good thinking. I might head your advice!! Xx

rainycoldboo · 06/08/2025 09:29

Thanks @Iris2024and @PeonyPatch- all the flower names!!

PeonyPatch · 06/08/2025 09:12

I am in my fertile window and back to trying with DH, however finding it tricky with different schedules and energy levels. I’m trying to increase the frequency we are having sex as well to up our chances, so I’ve suggested maybe trying daily now until my period arrives. Is this a good idea do you think?

PeonyPatch · 06/08/2025 09:10

rainycoldboo · 05/08/2025 09:20

We must have a similar due date - I’ve just found out (yesterday) that I have a little bean (hoping for a sticky one!!) - I’m 10dpo which puts my due date as 17/18th April! How about you?

Congratulations x

ForGiddyDreamer · 06/08/2025 08:53

@EmPeEf I'm sorry, this is so frustrating. I remember my cycle was quite long after the chemical and it shifted my ovulation date too. You might ov much later.

@ChaE05 I feel a bit better in myself having been seen. DP seems like he's the weight of the world on him so keeping a brave face. My temp went up this morning so hopefully that's a good sign. Two days early?! The absolute witch! Gets you onto the next cycle quicker so.

@YKM2829 Sorry about your experience. I think the doctor you get makes the difference. I never would have known to ask for progesterone if it weren't for this group. Though I'm in Ireland and had to pay for the privilege. First time getting a prescription here and it cost me 80 euro!

Iris2024 · 06/08/2025 08:42

Congratulations @DoubleDandelion @rainycoldboo ❤️

Sending love to all those in limbo and sorry to those where like myself AF has arrived.

@HayleyD84 Welcome! I’m 41 too ☺️

Partner has semen test on Friday. AF is over so back in another month and another try.

rainycoldboo · 06/08/2025 08:17

Thanks @SureLookI think I will! 😂

SureLook · 06/08/2025 07:55

@EmPeEf has this only happened after you've had a chemical? I'd say the bloating and cramps etc is all hormones. I wouldn't say you've truly gained that much weight.

@rainycoldboo yeah, exactly. Get him involved and get him to shut anything down!

@overwork ok, that definitely doesn't line up then. Hopefully AF will show up soon 🤞🏻

@YKM2829 it's so frustrating that there's no consistency. It's pot luck it would seem!

@ChaE05 sorry to hear. I wasn't tracking properly but my luteal phase was definitely shorter post loss. I then conceived on cycle #3 so I think it was just settling.

ChaE05 · 06/08/2025 07:26

AF has arrived 2 days early 😳 has anyone had that before? Already had a luteal phase on the shorter side so makes it really short! Hope it's a one off.

Onto cycle 10 😒

ForGiddyDreamer · 05/08/2025 16:24

My update: did a blood draw and I am back on Thursday for another. A doctor saw me and put me on aspirin and progesterone. We'll know when the second draw comes back on Friday what's going on.

Good to see everyone's BFPs progressing nicely. Fingers crossed for sticky beans all round!

So so glad you got seen at least, fingers crossed for everything. 🤞Xxx

This is the exact reason I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and my doc told me they don't prescribe progestrone in the UK for this issue and sent me home and I had a miscarriage about 4 or 5 days after.
Im so tempted to start saving up and go privately just for even normal care let alone all this stuff as it leaves you in such a shitry position when your doctor surgery is useless 😑😑

ChaE05 · 06/08/2025 06:36

@ForGiddyDreamerhow are you feeling? I'm so pleased the GP has prescribed you the progesterone and asprin and taking your bloods. I'm keeping everything crossed for you! And also sorry about DPs dad. Really is alot going on. Sending hugs xx

@EmPeEfsorry, this must be so frustrating for you not knowing what is going on! These chemicals can really mess with your cycle hey. I'm assuming you are wanting to try this month? I would just dtd every other day and then you are covered if you do ovulate x

overwork · 06/08/2025 06:33

@SureLookdefinitely definitely not, I was in bed for 5 days and then the next 5 days I could just about function to work and parent but I was wiped out from that. Then we had family staying so it wasn’t really conducive to having any time alone! So unless I ovulated 2 weeks late, which would have been at the weekend, I really can’t be pregnant. I think I’m hugely overthinking, because I’d just like to get this period over with and try again next month!

rainycoldboo · 06/08/2025 05:18

Wishing you lots of luck ‘
@EmPeEf

rainycoldboo · 06/08/2025 04:42

im Awake too @EmPeEfbeen up to pee at 2.30 every morning the last 3 nights and not back to sleep! Have you had bloods at the GP?

I’ve had bloods taken within the last 10 months for other reasons before TTC, and everything was fine. I have a blood test booked with my GP to check my thyroid meds are enough, but it’s not till the 10th Sept. I’d like to know if I’m just within the NHS normal range but not optimal for TTC. My partner mentioned about talking to an endo privately if so.

I’m hoping I’ll just OV a bit later this month and can still try. The next birthday is looming ever closer!
