Chemical pregnancy?

Hi all,

I had a chem pregnancy in December last year, a miscarriage in May. I also had a previous miscarriage in March 2023.

The top tests are from Tuesday night (8dpo) and Wednesday morning (9dpo) the clear blue early detection is today (11dpo) I thought it would be darker by now as it’s an early detection test, so I’m worried it’s another chemical unfortunately.

Any insights appreciated. I’m 39 and have one DD who is 3.5.

Yeah they always base it off a 28 day cycle which seems ridiculous to me when people’s cycles vary so much. I get the reluctance - I feel a bit like that too. I have spoken to my early pregnancy unit and they’ve put me on progesterone and I have a scan booked on the 22nd July, just hoping I make it that far.

From my calculations I think its the 15th of March alright. I must go to the GP yet but I find they usually give me a slightly earlier date basing it on a 28 day cycle. I seem to be very hesitant to book a GP and get the ball rolling this time around.

@LilacHearts glad to hear you are feeling better and the line is stronger. I'm 17dpo and the dip sticks still dont show a dye stealer. At this stage I am just testing for info purposes of seeing when I do get one but I'm definitely relaxing a bit more now approaching 5 weeks.

My husband has it now and my daughter has finished nursery for the summer before starting pre-school, so we are juggling illness and parenting!
Amazing, you are only 2 days ahead of me so you must have a due date of around 15th March? I’m glad you’re starting to relax a bit - I don’t know if I will until I get past the 12 week mark.
16dpo for me today and this is my test on second morning urine as I seem to get darker positives with second wee of the day!

All good here thanks. Got a 2 to 3 weeks on a digitalfor the first time this pregnancy. I will say the strip dip test line definitely develop very slowly. On my clear blues its as dark as the control line but the dip tests are no where near it. I really don't think they are the best for day to day line comparison looking at everyone's experience.

I had covid during my first pregnancy and was so nervous but it all worked out fine. Just rest and take care of yourself 😊

That’s amazing, I’m so pleased for you - it sounds like everything is progressing well. Those cheapie test definitely aren’t as sensitive as they make out. I got a stronger line this morning and I’m feeling a bit better but taking the day to rest and recover. At least the sun is shining in Manchester x

I think it's really exceptional to have a day stealer at 15DPO, I'd view it as an exception, not a norm.

Thank you! I’m feeling much better today - my fever broke and today I’m just tired and achy so I’ve taken the day off work.

I got a stronger positive too, but I am still erring on the side of caution to protect my head and my heart x

@Everythingisokay yeah that is true, I am my own worst enemy to keep testing everyday, I think it’s because when I had my MC in May I had a dye stealer at 15dpo. I need to stop comparing it. It feels like Covid which I also had in 2021 when I was pregnant with my DD. Here’s a pic…FMU x

@kl44 that’s crazy that the strips are so faint but everything else looks great! I refuse to buy anymore tests as I’ve already spent £45 🫠
they sound like great signs, I think you’re going to have a happy and healthy 9 months x

These tests for what they are, look great! These tests need huge amounts of hcg to darken to get to the same as the control line. A frer at this point would be much darke. But try not to worry, I know thats hard but so far things are on track.

Honestly wouldn’t worry, strips were yesterday FRER was yesterday & then my clear blue went up this morning too (strips still the same 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m ok feeling a bit bunged up & exhausted at the moment though 😴xx

Do you have pics? Just in case it's worse in your head than it appears. Also, you tested yesterday too, right? So when you're comparing yesterday's and today's tests, there's won't be much difference as you need to leave at least a day's gap for a clearer progress 💕
Lots of tea, cosy socks and bed rest for you today.

Thank you! I definitely would it’s way darker than any line I’ve had on any others! Although I couldn’t find the FRER in the shops I had to order from Amazon 🤷🏻‍♀️ I hope you have a happy healthy 9 months too 😁xx

Ok, this has actually made me feel a lot better. Maybe I should get the FRER. I don’t love the Clearblue tests, apart from the digital ones. Congrats and wishing you a happy, healthy pregnancy ✨

They are definitely positive. Have you tried testing with a frer. Id say your line on a frer would be much darker and show much better progression. I find these cheapie tests need a high amount of hcg for the test line to darken so the progression is slower.

Update: bottom test today is 13dpo and yesterday’s is 12dpo. Keeping my fingers crossed the line keeps getting darker.

@Everythingisokay its so so hard. This is no detriment to anyone who hasn’t suffered a loss, but I think unless you’ve been through it, it’s hard to understand. One of my friends keeps telling me stay calm and distract myself, but it’s so much easier said than done.

I totally agree.
The comments from people who haven't experienced it can be totally wild 😔
