@Waitingformiracle hell yeah!!! What a week 🎉

Tater05 · 26/06/2025 12:20

@Waitingformiracle such amazing news!! I'm so glad things are looking up, our thread is suddenly feeling very hopeful this week!

@PearOpal sorry to hear AF arrived, I hope you're still having a lovely holiday!
@MocktailMe I'm also just chugging along, on CD6. Time to bring out the OPKs as we can't do every other day despite DH taking his maca root every day 😂

MocktailMe · 26/06/2025 11:52

AMAZING news @Waitingformiracle just what I was hoping to hear! im so pleased you're onto the next stage.

@PearOpal me and you both 😂 I'm just chugging along CD 7 currently we will be covering at least EOD from here on out (well actually from CD 5 because I'm a lunatic!)

@Toadxox welcome! Definitely second @MocktailMe suggestions. Getting to know your cycle and tracking ovulation are a great way to start off TTC and learn about what is normal for your body.

obviously nothing major on my end. Af arrived right on time this week so I’m on to another cycle!

PearOpal · 26/06/2025 10:51

Hey ladies, I’m on holiday so lots to catch up on. EEKKK CONGRATS!!! @CharLdn what wonderful news to come back to for you. I’m so happy for you!

@Waitingformiracle so happy to here things are progressing and that you’ve got a transfer coming up. We’re rooting for you!

Waitingformiracle · 26/06/2025 09:58

Well ladies we have a euploid!!! Honestly so so thrilled. We will be transferring at the end of July. I am so full of hope for the first time in a long time!!

Waitingformiracle · 25/06/2025 18:41

@MocktailMe that sounds like a great plan I’m going to get myself into some pjs and curl up with a nice film! Thank you so much for the support and encouraging words, I really appreciate it! I will of course update you tomorrow and fingers crossed will have some good news to share 🤞 but yes if not, I feel confident that I can take on another egg retrieval!

MocktailMe · 25/06/2025 18:24

Oh wow @Waitingformiracle exciting and terrifying in equal measures for sure!!!

I really hope there'll be some good news tomorrow at the doctor's for you. Maybe time to stick a favourite old film on, have a nice cup of tea and try to relax tonight! Tomorrow will be here before you know it. Please let me know how you get on and remember one step at a time - if you can't transfer this time, that's just another hurdle to take - you've leapt over much harder ones before. Will be thinking of you, and if no one has mentioned it recently - well done for always being so bloody brave!

Waitingformiracle · 25/06/2025 16:50

@MocktailMe update from me is we are actually going into the doctor tomorrow morning to find out if we have any euploids to transfer. I am sick with nerves and a bit of excitement, but trying to protect my heart as best I can. If we do have some to transfer then it will be the end of July! Which is so exciting and terrifying. In the meantime we are trying this month but my ovulation is a bit all over the place from the IVF meds so I’m on CD 16
and no sign of it yet.

I agree it’s so great to see so much good news on here and I hope we won’t be long behind!!

Toadxox · 25/06/2025 16:50

Thank you for the advice, I will have a go with the ovulation sticks as I only bought 5 anyway 😂 but I may just try dtd every other day after my period stops as I am irregular it's hard to pinpoint ovulation for myself. I am currently using flo not sure if that app is good but it seems to be ok for me at the moment. 😁

MocktailMe · 25/06/2025 16:37

Of course.

If you've never used OPK I would start them as soon as your period ends. They are positive when both lines are equally dark (you'll get two lines a lot of the time but it's only positive when both are equal). When you get the positive you'll be ovulating around 24-48 hours later - give or take. That means you need to have as much sex as you can fit in for the next 48 hours once you get the positive!

That's not a terrible method if you are looking to time sex for ovulation. Or, you can just have sex daily or every other day from when your period ends. That's what I'm doing these days because I cannot face squinting over any more sticks!

Most of us use some sort of period tracker app, but bear in mind these won't give any useful indicators until you've logged multiple cycles - even then it only tracks trends. It will predict your ovulation window but it might not be correct. But it's still worth doing as you should learn your cycle and helps you know when is the right time to take a pregnancy test.

Toadxox · 25/06/2025 16:20

Is it ok if I join? I'm ttc my first and tbh don't know anything about tracking or when to take ovulation tests 😂 I'm 30 and have slightly irregular periods. Baby dust to you all ✨ ✨

MocktailMe · 25/06/2025 16:14

You must be over the moon. I'm genuinely so pleased for you, and a little bit hopeful that means these tube flushing procedures can have happy outcomes at the end.

I think we are actually tipping into a majority of the crew being pregnant now and I just really really hope everyone's pregnancies continue smoothly and that @Waitingformiracle @Tater05 and I join soon too - and all the other lovely ladies that pop on here.

Speaking of @Waitingformiracle do you want to give a little update? Whereabouts are you at now? I'm rooting so hard for you for this first cycle 💞

CharLdn · 25/06/2025 15:36

Thanks team @Tater05 🤞

@lavafield I didn’t know about the weights thing - or cow10 so thanks! I do lift very heavy weights so I’ve consulted the internet which says basically it’s ok to keep lifting but use lighter weights.

@KT199 anxiety’s not kicked in yet I’m just happy even if this is a chemical - that it’s happened.

@MocktailMe this is the first month trying post hycosy so I think it must be as I’ve literally done nothing different.

@Waitingformiracle thank you ❤️ It feels surreal!

Thank you so much team for being so supportive on this rollercoaster it’s nice to be on a positive path (finally!) till the next hurdle.

I’ve now ordered digital tests to keep tracking for a bit.

I’m away at the seaside this weekend so I’ll definitely be having a few ice creams to celebrate.

Waitingformiracle · 25/06/2025 15:00

@CharLdn that is so fantastic!!! Congratulations that is most definitely a strong positive!! Woohoo!!

MocktailMe · 25/06/2025 13:39

Absolutely no mistaking that now!

Massive congratulations you deserve this 💞

I hope it's all plain sailing from here on out for you. So pleased for you - seems like maybe that hycosy did the trick?

KT199 · 25/06/2025 10:40

@CharLdn Awh this has made my day. I really hope things continue to progress for you and this is the start of a perfect healthy pregnancy. Tentative congratulations!! I’m sure your anxiety will soon kick in if it hasn’t already but just take each day as it comes. I found comfort knowing it’s out of my control now and I can’t change what’s happening inside so just rested and listened to my body.

lavafield · 25/06/2025 10:10

@CharLdn Amazing line progression!! 🤩 I am sooo happy for you! Fingers crossed all goes well!
Please take care of yourself now, I know most of this is totally outside our control especially in these early days, but try to not stress, rest up more, take folic acid and vitamin D, no lifting heavy stuff etc. I also stopped CoQ10 as soon as I got my BFP, if you are taking it.

Tater05 · 25/06/2025 09:19

@CharLdn that's a good looking strong line there!!!! I'm so happy it's finally happening for you! Fingers are firmly crossed we see that line get darker and darker

CharLdn · 25/06/2025 08:57

Guys after 2 years and 18 f*cking months of psychotic trying (literally) I think it’s actually happening. Hopes are up - fingers crossed 🤞 it keeps tracking forward. I’ve now ordered a million more tests.

CharLdn · 24/06/2025 15:12

@LibbyOTV I’ve also used OPKs and have found that tracking cervical mucus and temperature as accurate and less tedious than pissing on sticks.

Agreeing with what @MocktailMe said it’s important to not let it take over life and the biggest helpful reframe for me was to treat it like a marathon not a sprint.

My one regret has been panicking too early and trying to control too much when it’s really a bit of a lottery each month.

So do the things you can to help you make it less stressful and stay sane - book the holidays! And don’t put life on hold.

MocktailMe · 24/06/2025 13:04

Hey @LibbyOTV at 5 months in I think the very best advice I could give you is try not to let any panic set in. You are WELL within the normal time frame for TTC and unless you have a known condition that can make fertility harder it's best not to fall too far into anxiety around medicalising the process at this stage.

Please be reassured too, that despite this thread running for over a year now, we have had many women dropping in to chat who caught quickly and moved on, several of our long standing members are now actually pregnant and several of us have been pregnant and sadly suffered loss, or recurring loss. Even as a small sample size, we have nearly all slotted into the category of pregnant within 2 years - even if we didnt all have successful pregnancies. Those of us still trying have all managed to find fertility help too - stage one is speaking to your GP and getting bloods taken at two different points in your cycle.

The best tip I can give you is to have sex as much as possible, even when you don't think it's likely you are ovulating. Your ovulation day shifts around even in a normal healthy woman! For me the hardest months can be kicking myself when I realise I missed the window. I hate missing that tiny window 😂 and even being a few days out means you have lowered your chances sometimes to zero which is hard to take! If you make sure you cover all eventualities you're giving yourself a better chance and I think it helps mentally too knowing you did all you can.

I have a love/hate relationship with OPK 😂 I've decided personally never to use them again as I get too stressed and find simply covering all days is better, but it can lead to stress over not knowing your exact DPO. For me that's the lesser of the two evils, but I think try it for at least a cycle or two to see how you find them!

CharLdn · 24/06/2025 12:42

@LibbyOTV I’d also recommended the hertility test as it flagged potential PCOS - and can flag any potential issues.

I got the following tests from my GP
hormones - LH, AMH, TESTOSTERONE etc

  • Thyroid
  • blood sugar test (because I thought about insulin resistance)

It depends on your GP with how receptive they are to doing tests.

Something which has helped is tracking everything on an app - I use flo but you could also use natural cycles etc. I’ve found having data has helped me.

Tater05 · 24/06/2025 09:25

@CharLdn you have unreal restraint if you hold out till Thursday! It's good you have a busy day, hopefully it'll go quickly!

Hi @LibbyOTV! I did some at home blood tests (with Hertility, they were really good) at around the 8 month mark. Because you're under 35 the NHS won't see you for it until you've been trying for 12 months. If you have ever had any gyno related conditions in the past though you could always bring that up with the GP and you don't even have to mention that you're TTC. I wish I'd gone and pushed for an ultrasound around that time as now they're saying there's no point sending me for one as I might as well wait for my fertility appointment, which is a loooong wait. Hopefully you don't get to that point though! Remember it's still normal for it to take a year!

LibbyOTV · 24/06/2025 08:56

Hi everyone, 33 years old here and 5 months into TTC. Good luck to you all! Did any if you do any initial tests at this stage? And how did you get the NHS to help? Thanks so much
