5 dpo implantation spotting?

Hey all 👋🏼

Just wondering if anyone has experienced similar… I am only using LH strips this month so going off those I ovulated roughly 5 days ago… I went to the loo this afternoon and wiped to find a bit of stringy pinkish blood mixed in with clear CM… since then I haven’t had anything else, wore a panty liner just incase but nothing appeared after that one time 🤔 Is it too early for implantation?

I’ve previously had 4 losses… two of which were ectopic and one of those ended in me loosing my tube… 💔

I have never experienced implantation bleeding with any of them 🤷🏻‍♀️ Technically not due on for another 6 days!

Any and all advice welcome ✨

@RainbowUnicorn94 oh, I meant to ask. How many weeks are you?

SureLook · 20/06/2025 14:38

@RainbowUnicorn94 thank you for your kind words. We were similar. Went for the NIPT at 9+5 and baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks. It's the cruelest type of loss!
With this loss it has been the slightest little bit easier cause there wasn't a little baby on the screen this time. It was very hard seeing the tiny baba the last time. I feel a bit detached from it cause it's just a sac.
Yeah, this scan is just a follow-up to confirm. I've no hope that they'll see anything. I might have been a bit more hopeful if there was a yolk sac but there was nothing. I went for a D&C for the MMC but I might consider medication this time. Cause there's less to pass I presume? I'll think about it!

I said that to a friend recently who's had her third loss, we'll never relax until there's a baby in our arms.
I also didn't tell as many people this time. I wanted to wait until we had a scan even though that's still not a guarantee. I was planning on telling my family on Father's Day but that went out the window!
I think stepping away from the tests is a good idea.
I will of course. I'll update on Tuesday after my scan x

@SureLookOh I am so so sorry and sending you so much love and healing ❤️‍🩹 That must have been hard to find out 😞 We had the same happen with my MMC which was our first loss…. Went for a 9 week private scan to tell our son (took him with us) then got told baby had stopped growing a week ago ☹️ Be gentle with yourself! Do you have a plan in place? Is this re scan to double check something wasn’t hiding etc…!? It’s horrible the waiting game… I had to wait a week to be re scanned by EPU, I then opted for surgical management.

I have just picked up my injections so hoping to start them tonight, don’t think I’ll properly be able to relax until I have baby in my arms… I’m still not convinced this is the real thing, we’ve opted not to tell anyone until the first scan to check placement etc… Which feels weird as I’m super close with my parents and sister, but I hate having to tell them and then they spend the whole time on edge with us due to our history ✨

Very true what you said about line progression, I remember having the strongest dye stealers and terrible sickness for my MMC, so like you said it doesn’t stand for much unfortunately… going to try to step away from the tests over the weekend 🤲🏼

Please keep me updated and I’m always here for a rant or just general chit chat 💬🩷

Hi @RainbowUnicorn94 I am so so happy to hear you're expecting! Congratulations ❤️ that's great you've already been onto the GP and you're starting the blood thinners.
Don't worry about the EPU. Like you said you weren't actually trying and no contraception is 100% affective! I'd give them a call so you can get in for an early scan.
Try not to get too caught up in the line progression. HCG doubles roughly every 48 hours or so. And unfortunately it won't actually indicate if the pregnancy is via le or not x

I am TTC for #2. I did catch in May and we went for a private scan in June. It was sadly just an empty sac with no embryo or yolk sac. So it's a blighted ovum. I was meant to be in EPU yesterday for a follow-up scan but I have Covid so I couldn't go. I'm booked in for Tuesday coming now instead. It's crap cause this is my second loss in a row after an MMC in January. I never thought I'd even have one loss, let alone two!

@SureLook@Bas27Hey ladies, so sorry for the late reply! Not sure how I missed these messages, I didn’t get any notifications!! OMG!! Congratulations @Bas27so so happy for you! How are things going? How are you feeling? 🙏🏼 ✨

@SureLookSo in answer to your question I actually fell pregnant this month… I’ve been freaking out the last couple of days! I’m baffled how it’s happened as we haven’t tracked at all this month and only DTD 3 times with protection… but I think maybe we put it on too late 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve been on the phone to the GP who’s prescribed me blood thinning injections to use throughout the pregnancy 🤰🏻 I’m starting them today… haven’t told my EPU clinic yet, I’m worried they are going to moan as I knew we shouldn’t have been trying (but technically we weren’t)

Also having a meltdown about my line progressions… testing a lot 😞 They don’t seem to be getting dark as quickly as I’d like 😭 I feel like I’m comparing them to all my previous losses which probably isn’t helping ☹️

@SureLookAre you TTC!? ✨

Sending love and well wishes to you both!🩷

Thanks for updating us @RainbowUnicorn94✨✨ sorry it wasn’t good news this time but hopefully your appointment will help and it’s quite soon too so that’s great. We caught last month so am now almost 6 weeks and tentatively very excited. 🖤

SureLook · 03/06/2025 23:11

@RainbowUnicorn94 ah, sorry to hear AF came. I'm glad you've got your appointment though. Hopefully that will get the ball rolling for you. Will you keep trying in the meantime?x

RainbowUnicorn94 · 03/06/2025 21:57

@Bas27@SureLookHey all 👋🏼 Sorry I completely forgot to update on here… I used to hate searching threads and finding the OP never updated the outcome 🤣

Aunt Flo came as usual… 👎 So I guess the spotting was just a weird one off occurrence 🤷🏻‍♀️ One little plus side is my appointment to see the reoccurring miscarriage clinic finally came through… We are due to see them on the 1st of July, let’s hope they can help us 🙏🏼 x

@Bas27How are you doing? Any luck last month ✨🍀 x

That is crazy that you didn't get any information and that you're expected to wait that long with no information. It's so hard to know what's going on with our bodies. It could be anything!

RainbowUnicorn94 · 13/05/2025 23:16

@SureLookYes I couldn’t believe we were referred with no information on waiting etc… she said you get all info in the post along with your appointment date, but that could take months! I only found this out because I called to let them know about this blood clotting thing… It’s deffo hard not to try when we’ve been trying for the past two years 🙏🏼 I guess it’s a waiting game! We haven’t DTD in a few days, so I know that’s ruled out 🤔 🤷🏻‍♀️😮‍💨😂

SureLook · 13/05/2025 22:48

It's so hard to know! Did you have sex today? It could be that either 🤷🏻‍♀️ sounds like you're being looked after anyway and that you'll have a good plan in place. I'm sure the clinic are well used to people being referred to them and then ending up pregnant. I would imagine it's very hard not to try as well!

RainbowUnicorn94 · 13/05/2025 22:29

@Bas27Awww amazing, will deffo check that out, thank you! 🙏🏼 ✨

@SureLookHi 👋🏼 Thank you for commenting, ooooh this is interesting to know 🙏🏼 I’ve had no more when wiping or anything… just seemed to be that one time today 🤔 I guess time will tell 🕰️ I do have like a dull ache there on and off this evening… hard to describe, plus my lower back aches a bit too! ✨

Slightly stressing as we are on the wait list to see the reoccurring miscarriage clinic… we’ve been on there since our 3rd loss last November… I was told after a phone call in January that they ask you ‘not to try’ until further testing, which I had no clue about as wasn’t informed… By this point I had just ovulated! 😮‍💨 Fast forward to the end of February I found out I was pregnant again… Which turned out to be an Ectopic that needed surgery as I was internally bleeding again, luckily they saved my remaining tube 🙏🏼 So we’ve been using protection at the moment but had one blip this month which is what prompted me to check my LH levels 🤦🏻‍♀️

They also believe I have a blood clotting disorder (APS) and the GP has told me to call asap when I get a BFP so that they can put me on aspirin and low molecular weight heparin injections… So will be keeping a close eye on things 🙏🏼

Will keep you both updated! Sending loads of luck your way 🍀

Hi @RainbowUnicorn94 I'm very sorry for your losses. I've had implantation bleeding on both my pregnancies. It never went on a pad and only lasted a couple of days. It sounds like it could be implantation bleeding for you. Fingers crossed for you!

Bas27 · 13/05/2025 22:13

@RainbowUnicorn94i am on a ttc thread if you want to join? Lots of us in the tww! Will link incase you feel like it 😊

Hi @RainbowUnicorn94 - I have no experience of this but sounds plausible to me! I think implantation varies from person to person. Given that your ovulation window is rough I think this is reasonable logic. Sorry for your loses! I hope this is your month! ✨
