Just wanted to let you know I got the BFP! Cant believe it! Really pleased but was a bit worried as have been having pains that never had last time and bit worried about it - have settled down a bit now thank goodness.

So hoping that a bit of the baby dust spreads around you all

The other advice our GP gave us was to not use OPKs as they cause too much stress but to 'just enjoy ourselves'!!!! Also to REALLY enjoy ourselves by ensuring a big 'O' for me (and I'm talking When Harry Met Sally here ) as it sort of sucks up the wrigglers like a little hoover!!!! So enjoy!!!

Thanks BellaLasagne, I am thinking of booking one of these if my af shows up in a few days which I fear it might. I've been really low the last few days wondering why it's just not happening, and although my common sense tells me that worrying will only make things worse, I just can't relax! Have already looked ahead for next month and dh is away working on ov. day, and that is adding stress too.

My mum probably has the best advice - to go away, relax, and it will probably just happen! Hoping to get away in June, so you never know!

It's just so rediculous, isn't it? It's impossible to relax and not obsess about it all. I tried applying for another job but that didn't work last month, and I didn't get the job either so double misery!!

Just going throught he same phase as you BL we've been trying for 11 months for No.2 and I had first blood test week before last and next week have the cd 21 test, DH just submitted his sample too. How the hell are you supposed to relax (which is supposed to help in becoming pg) when there are so many things to do/think about!?>

I've just come from GPs having asked the very same question. A blood test on cd21 to measure hormone levels (LH and F something?) can confirm whether you've ov'd. I've mine booked for next week as no luck after 11 months ttc #3.

Had another scan today - I'm just over 7 weeks, and saw two babies, both with heartbeats! I know this is my second scan, and I saw them last time too - but I still can't get over it.

Anyway, I've been told that unless I have any more bleeding I won't be seen again till I'm about 12 weeks. Goodness, not sure i can wait that long for a bit of reassurance.

Hi all, just popping in to say hi. Am on cd 23 of 29 - hate this time of the month, wondering if we have managed it this month! Anyway, no symptoms to speak of so maybe a bfn on its way. Have got a 'First Response' hpt ready in case I cannot control my obsession with these things!

Question for all you ladies - I usually do opk's every month and the kits show ovulation around day 14. Do these results mean I am definately ovulating, or is it only a blood test at the doctor's that is definitive? Just wondering as we have been trying since August/Sept and no luck yet (sadly, just a m/c in December). Was thinking of going to see my doctor for some advice.

I am 41 also and been bedding without contraception for 13 months, although only ttc and opks for two months. So another oldy to add to the list.

Just joining this thread and have to say some of you "old duffers" are soooooo young - to me anyhow!! I am 43 (aaagh) and have my first chat thru with fertility doc next week! Have been trying but not very seriously and now know am not ovulating.....hoping someone can still wave their magic wand (apart from DP's obvious one!!)

Find myself scanning the posts for peoples ages -willing everyone to be older than me

I would not consider a surrogate in those circumstances -however I did not hate being pg. It has crossed my mind however to ask my sister to give me an egg - she is much younger and we would be much more likely to have baby therefore.

Dont knwo if I would actually do it, though

I love my daughter but i hated being pg. for all the known reasons. I would prob not do it (£) but would it be better for baby if womb is younger? just thoughts

Hi Marinda, will have my 6 week scan next week, just to make sure everything is OK. I think the nucal is much later - around 12 weeks. I think they do the nucal routinely? - don't think you have to ask for it, or do you?
