Hope it’s not too early to start this! For anyone trying in May, and “out” for April.

By some miracle I did fall pregnant this month after over a year TTC but it ended in a chemical just before 5 weeks. I’d tried some new things last cycle (inc baby aspirin and L’arginine, using preseed and doing a daily morning walk!) so going to try all of that again this month and keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻 don’t know when I’ll ovulate yet but I imagine it’ll be right at the end of April…

You're dead right @BerrieSweet it's a lot for us to take on so them initiating it does help!

Yes!! ❤️

Thanks @FigPigand @SureLookim not sure how hubby will feel about it if I say I’ve got a plan for how often we should DTD….sort of removes the romance a bit!

The first months I wouldn’t mention for my DP either for the same reason 🥰 Now it’s month 5 TTC and my DP knows my daily temperature, which consistency my discharge has and initiates DTD my fertile days because we just want it to happen 😂 and I don’t like to initiate DTD hehe so It makes it easier hehe.. I don’t think it takes the romance out of it (ok maybe some days haha) but It’s something very sexy about him taking responsibility as well and not having to be alone in the relationship knowing and planning everything ❤️ All the testing and temping is already enough 😂

SureLook · 23/04/2025 17:56

@FlyHighSky72 my DP says we should be having sex every day from the second my period finishes until I get my period again 😂😂 I'm not sure how long that enthusiasm is going to last!

@Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate cycle twins! How long are your cycles normally? Mine are all over the shop since my MMC.

Chocolateeggsarebetterthannormalchocolate · 23/04/2025 17:49

@SureLookI'm exactly the same as you.. CD3 of cycle 3 TTC#2, also trying SMEP this month!

Thanks @Taysonicthats useful to hear! This is going to be my first cycle trying - literally finished my period yesterday so here we go…..! Is everyone using anything like SMEG or every day or every other day DTD?

We’re doing SMEP this time. We’ve roughly done it previously but not the 3 days in a row bit. Fingers crossed!

SureLook · 23/04/2025 17:27

@FlyHighSky72 I'm on CD3 but plan on trying SMEG this time. This'll be cycle 3 TTC #2. What about you?

Oh thank you guys! That’s made me feel a lot better. We already use Conceive Plus so hopefully covering all bases. Thank you again!

peanutForever · 23/04/2025 16:41

@FigPigyou could always use conceive plus/fertility lube as they act as more ewcm...to up your chances of conceiving but i second @BerrieSweetsometimes we have loads but its high up and not discharged as much/discharged slowly x

BerrieSweet · 23/04/2025 16:31

FigPig · 23/04/2025 16:16

Urgh I think I have found my peak. It’s just really weak this month and I barely have any EWCM. Does that point to an anovulatory cycle, do you think? It’s possible that I’m just really well hydrated so the tests aren’t as accurate, but the lack of EWCM isn’t great, is it 😫

Sometimes you have EWCM in the cervix without noticing. A friend said she barely had any but her doctor said there was a lot, she just didn’t notice it 🥰

I am going to start cycle 2 of TTC in May trying for my second one. 2 days late on period this month but got a negative in the morning so waiting for AF

LuckyDuck93 · 23/04/2025 15:12

Sorry to hear that @Taysonic hopefully this is a fresh start with a new "normal" cycle for you, look after yourself over the next few days!

Got my peak last night so thinking ovulation is today as all other signs seem to be pointing that way, almost dreading being back in the tww because i know it sends me a bit mad!

FlyHighSky72 · 23/04/2025 14:36

I’m too scared to use any of the temp stuff - worried it’ll make me get a bit obsessed!

I was the same! But I've actually found it really useful and interesting. Beforehand, I'd just been assuming ovulation on around CD14 but I like that temping really confirms when ovulation has happened (and it's later for me than expected!) and I find that somewhat reassuring. And it's not as onerous as I thought it would be.

As with all things TTC, I think it's horses for courses - for me, I'm finding it beneficial and interesting, and I have a measured approach to it e.g. try not to get hung on on the exact specifics and just see the 'trend lines' of temp rather than obsessing over each little variance, if you know what I mean?

The good news is, it's fairly inexpensive (you can get a digital thermometer off Amazon for a few quid) so not much financial outlay to give it a go, and if it doesn't work for you, not much is lost.

peanutForever · 23/04/2025 15:06

Ahh @taysonicsorry to hear about AF but yes please dont feel disappointed things can be a bit all over the place after a mc and the body can be unpredictable in terms of cycle etc so actually agree with your partner in that you are in a normal cycle now ❤️

all those LH testing and using premom dont forget you can track your CM and your moods on there too and it will take everything into account to better predict ovulation, im sure most apps have the same feature x

Ah sorry about your chemical @Muddysocks1 - if it helps, my baseline levels were slightly elevated after my MC but I was still testing 'positive' at that point so put it down to that. Had no idea when my peak would come or when hormones would return to normal, but, just kept testing twice a day (around 11am and 4pm) and it was obvious when that surge happened so hopefully will be the same for you.
Fingers crossed you get some clarity soon.

Ah thank you! Yes I’m wondering if it’s very low residual hcg, OR hormones a bit wonky/raised post chemical. Time will tell! Usually my surge is obv and I might start testing 2x a day now.. and keeping an eye on mucus too. Would be gutted to miss it 🙈

On the topic of OPK/premom, I noticed since I had the chemical that my LH “baseline” is higher than usual. Usually it’s much more faint, and below 0.15, until closer to ovulation. This is CD3 onwards. Keeping a close eye as don’t trust when ovulation will happen and don’t want to miss it!

Morning all! AF arrived this morning, my first after last month's MC. Had secretly hoped might have caught again straight away so feeling a bit disappointed and emotional but... partner is keeping my chin up and saying at least we're on a 'normal' cycle again now.

And I've been using the PreMom app (I do like it!) and it was freaking out over the last month seeing as there hadn't been a period logged... but hopefully now, everything will be clearer and more straight forward.

For anyone OPKing and using PreMom - just a reminder that you can adjust the 'numerical' peak assessment. Sometimes I think it depends on the lighting used to photograph the strip and can make things look a bit weird. I always sense check mine and adjust if I feel it's warranted. I also don't OPK first thing in the morning - usually do second morning urine and then a late afternoon test as it gets closer to anticipated peak.

Ah I noticed Premom was being weird and not giving me a cycle day as I tried to log miscarriage bleeding instead of a period!

Hi all! I’m day 1 TTW today so would find out early May, ttc number 2 after a very long and difficult journey to baby 1, hoping this time around it’s easier, had my first cycle back last month after stopping breastfeeding DS and had a chemical in that cycle so everything crossed for this month. Sending baby dust to everyone!

Hii @MrsF111 I saw my EWCM yesterday, increased consistency last night so we DTD past midnight. I will start counting PO from tomorrow. The timing seems close so let's see what happens 😊

I have a feeling you ovulated the 18th too by the pic, I guess sometimes the LH swings but the real peak is what matters I believe 🥰 In case you don’t get a peak again ofc

Yeah me too, I did have a convo with gp regarding how bad my symptoms get with potential pmdd, and he mentioned "medication to essentially stop ovulation because it seems you may be producung too much of something" wasn't very in depth and I don't know if it poses more questions than answers 🤔😂 but I wouldn't be surprised if I dip up and down on a low level, unless that's normal anyway I don't know 🤷🏽‍♀️😅
I'm trying to not hcg test again until at least 8-10dpo as that's when I found out with Dd. 🤞
