Hope it’s not too early to start this! For anyone trying in May, and “out” for April.

By some miracle I did fall pregnant this month after over a year TTC but it ended in a chemical just before 5 weeks. I’d tried some new things last cycle (inc baby aspirin and L’arginine, using preseed and doing a daily morning walk!) so going to try all of that again this month and keep my fingers crossed 🤞🏻 don’t know when I’ll ovulate yet but I imagine it’ll be right at the end of April…

Thanks for the advice @SureLook! Planned sex is so sexy haha! Trying to work out whether I can afford to Miss tonight and just go every night from Saturday-Monday or whether to go tonight as well! Argh

SureLook · 02/05/2025 12:02

And again like @Muddysocks1 said, start from before. I had sex once in my fertile window when we conceived our DD. I never got a fully positive OPK but it got darker towards the end of the week and we only BD on the Monday. My partner was sick for the rest of the week. So definitely before!

SureLook · 02/05/2025 11:59

@FlyHighSky72 don't let them run out just as they start to get dark like I did last month 😂

I'm following the SMEP plan this month which says to start BD every second day from CD8. You start OPKs on CD10. Then when you get your peak BD that day and the next two days, skip a day and then again the next day. I think that will cover all bases 😂 but I think every second day will cover it. Like @Muddysocks1 said, when you see EWCM start!

Great ☺️
From what ive read the time to start DTD is when you start to see a rise rather than waiting for the peak - as can take some time for body to metabolise it into urine

Or before! Because you’re fertile up to 5 days before ovulation (although the three days are best), and you could rise from nothing in short space like two days, and have missed a few extra opportunities. Ideally you want to start as soon as you see fertile cervical mucus which is a better earlier indicator, although not everyone gets much visible (I struggle sometimes!)

Thanks @ThisZippyViewerBDed yesterday. Is the general advice to still alternate days in the fertile period or to try to do every day?? (Anyone!)

FlyHighSky72 · 02/05/2025 09:34

Oh no @ThisZippyViewerhow annoying! Fingers crossed you go back to normal! I’ve just taken an OPK and it FINALLY looks like it’s getting darker - still not a peak but I’m feeling a lot more relaxed now!!

Thanks @SureLook- now got to work out how many I’ve got left so I can spread them between the days on the bank holiday weekend

SureLook · 02/05/2025 10:02

That's great @FlyHighSky72 👏🏻

Bit of a long story reply 🤣🤣 normally I have 27-29 day cycles but I think pregnacare vitamins have thrown me off
The month before last cycle I was taking them and cycle was 40 days with ovulation around CD 29
stopped last month cycle was 28 days with ovulation around CD 17
started again this month and delayed a bit with peak CD23 - I think cycle will be around 34/35 days this month

ive stopped taking them now so im hoping back to some regularity next month! X

This exact thing happened to me when ttc my first! I stopped taking them and switched to bit d and folic acid, and we conceived shortly after

It will scratch the testing itch 🤣
I have 2 clearblue tests, that I refuse to use without being very certain cos of all the evap posts I see on here. So I’m really really trying to hold on for Saturday 10th 😩 but we’ll see!

That’s incredible self control! I can’t even pretend to myself I’ll last to something like day 10. I’m really impressed 😂

FlyHighSky72 · 02/05/2025 07:32

Thanks @Muddysocks1and @ThisHangryTiger

ThisHangryTiger · 02/05/2025 07:05

@FlyHighSky72 mine were like that and then they started to increase again. I ovulated day 21 this month so still plenty of time.

I’m sort of regretting using OPKs - they’re really stressing me out! How can my LH be this low and going down

It could suddenly just come up, mine usually hangs around 0.15 and then suddenly comes up over a day or two. I usually ovulate between cd13 and cd17 so it can vary a bit too. I really like OPKs because I feel reassured that I know better when I’m ovulating and not missing it by assuming it’s a certain day, even if it is annoying waiting! ☺️

@devma I don't actually know, but I had a 0.4 for a few days after my peak one of the the cycles I conceived. Obviously not because I'd conceived but that suggests it's not a bad sign! Never happened to me any other time.

Edited

Thank you! I was worried it would interfere with anything that may be happening on a cellular level but thats good to know!☺️

I am relatively new to it and felt like this a week or so ago! Here are mine from this month so far if that gives you any reassurance x

Thanks @2Sugars2- just finding it super stressful!! Premom is now suggesting I might ovulate on Sunday….fingers crossed

2Sugars2 · 01/05/2025 22:09

@FlyHighSky72 stick with it.... mine were like that. I've had to test multiple times throughout the day to catch my peak today. But yesterday my levels were very low also. I think some people have a gradual rise and some people have a sudden rise.. I know it's frustrating but keep going.

@Bas27 cycle twins! We can keep each other company in the dreaded TWW!

devma · 01/05/2025 20:48

Can anyone help me understand why my lh is higher than normal at 3dpo?
i had a strong surge this month and it tapered off slowly, but I wasnt expecting 0.37 reading today😅 it usually drops back off to 0.1~

im adamant I wont test until a missed period (which is due 12th May) and I have a long way to go for the tww but just wondering whats happening as i’ve not experienced this before, if its a bad sign etc (im aware it isnt a sign of pregnancy)
