Vasectomy reversal success??

ok GP says we have to phone consultant tomorrow to arrange appointment at a time that suits us (gp said that it was better doing it that way so that we could get an appointment at a time that suits) then we have to phone gp and hell send the referral letter. OH says he didnt say much , just that op could take up to 5 hours depending on how easy it is and that for every year your chances go down by 20% which sounds a bit pessimitic. Ill wait and see what the consultant says to get a better idea.

hi, no you don't need to go. My DHs was Wednesday and I only went as I needed to get some questions sorted about the pregnancy.
Other than that, it only took 5 mins to get the referral sorted. Good luck xxx

hi, Ive got a question for you all. When your dhs went to the gp to get a referal did you have to go too. OH has an appointment for 5pm tonight, I dont need to go to this one do I?

Ive still got my ds2s pushchair as he occasionally still uses it, but only used carrycot bit for a couple of months and I have refused to sell it for the last 2 years as i knew i wanted another one. Im so excited at the thought of it but at the same time im not cos i dont want to get my hopes up IYSWIM.
Last night I was sitting looking at all the newborn clothes on the internet. I settled for buying a couple of outfits for my baby neice and nephew.

I think I'd go for the one you've had your eye on cos again, you can always jusitfy it by saying you can stick it on ebay if necessary lol

I feel a bit more convinced in buying this pram now I hear you've bought one too KatieDD, but just worried I suppose incase it doesn't happen.

Really trying not to become baby obsessed and stuff but when I see a bargain, I can't leave it !!

I bought a pram recently it's a discountinued model which I had for my first two and none of the Jane's or Bugaboo's came near it, this one was £40 and round the corner so I bought it and have hidden it in the garage.
I could also do with another buggy type thing to keep in the boot for my youngest who is 4 but sometimes i like her contained more than she needs to rest iyswim, so do I buy a cheapy buggy I can give away at the end of the year or do I buy the posh Maclaren Travel system I have my eye on that would be great for the new bubs too.
Oh the dilema's, (having said that I've sneaked in baby bits and bobs when I've been buying posh clothes for the older ones too, a t shirt here and there ) DH must think i'm mental.

Anyway, need some advice girls. I don't want to get ahead of myself but......... a friend of ours has a gorgeous pram they bought from mamas and papas and its like brand new. They want £ 40 for it so I'm in a dilemma as thats an absolute bargain. DH wants us to buy it and keep in attic but what if the pregnancy doesn't happen ? I keep sayng I could sell it on ebay but not sure if it would upset me when it came round to it. AAARRGHHH please help !!!

welshlinz - all that ardour has gone out the window a bit now (after nearly a year TTC )....it wasn't me who wanted to do at the 2 day mark - and I was frankly shocked he did as he looked in a very bad way at the time! The surgery had ended up taking nearly 6 hours as there were so many problems but the surgeon assured us we couldn't undo the join and that ejeculating actually helps ...but it was still a very gingerly done shag!

My DH is planning to take to his bed for 2 weeks I suspect
So I think I'll book a dirty weekend away for the month after although I want this all done asap, I don't actually want to catch until Jan 2009 at the earliest I have a few loose ends to tie up first.

As for when we got down to it - our surgeon said as soon as he felt able to we could do it (although we did read on the internet to wait anything from 24 hours to 3 weeks depending on which website you read!.

We waited 2 days couldn't wait to test it out....but they do say ikt takes time for the sperm count to build up - anything up to 2 years!!

BTW - when we started seriously TTC (e.g charting) my cycle went wacky - I'd been having 31 day cycles then they went mental....am now wondering if it was psychological...I guess I'll find out when I go back to the Gynae consultant and get the results of the preliminary tests........

its weird you should say about your cycle regulating as mine has gone the opposite. I'm always really regular to the day and for some reason this month its come a week and a half early !! Don't need this to start happening

Anyway, lol about changing the thread name. Its really easy to set up an ebay shop. They give you the option to trial it for 30 days for free and then its £6 per month so not alot. You can still use your normal account aswell if you'd rather and obviously thats free. You just need to change your account type to business.

As for setting up a business, I picked a name, registered it with companies house and away to go !! Not as scary as I first thought now I've got into it.

KatieDD, knitting is a great idea. Premature baby cardigans seem to sell well on ebay so poss something to think about x

Enough about that tho, onto the important question. How long after op did you take before getting down to it ??????

Lol I thought that too terrier, I am desperate to start knitting and DH said fine but no baby clothes so maybe i'll knit them and sell them instead.
Still no appointment here but my cycle seems to have regulated itself

hi, yes he went this morning. Doc said he should have his consultation appointment through by beginning of next week so back to waiting ( although I guess I'd better start getting used to that ! )

well because I opened a shop I invested 15K into it so quite a lot !! but if I'd have started on ebay then really its just your ebay fees per month and money for stock. Depending on what area you would like to get into I know loads of wholesalers that are small minimum orders of £ 100 and some don't even have a min order quantity. The great thing is they deliver to your home aswell so don't even have to visit warehouses to pick up my new items xx

ooooh welshlinz that's fab! Where did you find where to buy your stock from?? Whenever I've looked into it its always seemed like a really closed shop, unless you can buy tonnes of stock (which I can't afford to do) How much capital did you put into it to start it off?

hi Pink, yes it's my own business called Funky Bumps. Came up with the idea over 12 months ago because my sister in law couldn't find any nice pregnancy clothing where we live. I opened a shop at first in the town centre but soon got sucked into the ebay route as there were no crippling overheads !! Started selling designer wear now aswell cos then I'm reaching all areas and not just pregnant women. I'd recommend opening your own business. I love it cos I work from home, and I suit the hours around me and the family. I've even worked out how to keep it running if and when the new arrival may come along ( how sad I am I ? ) If you want any advice or whatever I'm happy to share x

Welshlinz/kellykate - my DH had his vasectomy age 29 with a 6 month old baby - he too was given a cancellation app and rushed into surgery - the worst part, as I have said on here before , is that he now says, if any one (apart from me obviously) had stopped him and said "whoa, hang on a minute, are you sure you want to do this?" He wouldn't have had it done I truly believe vasectomies should not be performed on any one under 35 and definitely NEVER on someone with a baby under 12 months old.

Rant over! KatieDD - the hypnoconception CD is supposed to remove any mental blocks you may have and might help to regulate my cycle (fingers and toes crossed emoticon) I got a lovely hand written note from the lady I bought it from asking me to keep in touch so I hope I eventually get some good news to give her!

Welshlinz - is it your own business? Do you have a website or sell through ebay? I would love to do something like that (not maternity though)but wouldn't have a clue where to source the stock.

Pink, I had a Hypno Birth last time with DD it certainly helped me to sleep, not sure that'll helpful in getting you pregnant though, but I throughly recommend the Mognan method for when we all get up the duff.
Terrier I bet if you get a new job that you absolutely love you'll get pregnant instantly it's sods law.
