Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

Bit p*d off today - on CD13 and dh has gone right off the boil (which happened at precisely the same time lasy cycle!) Where am I going wrong - you cant get pregnant if you dont have sex!! Before we started ttc he NEVER EVER turned me down (tbh I've never known a man that can say no to sex!)- Im starting to think that deep down (maybe even sub-consciously) he doesnt really want a baby! He says that is ridiculous, otherwise why would he have gone through the pain and expense of the reversal. Maybe im being over sensitive? My other plan is to stop telling him where I am in my cycle cos the rest of the time he's very keen!

RL business? that'll never do!

It does get a bit obsessive coming on here I must admit, I have just had to take myself off here for a few days when I get a bit pee- -on-a-stick weepy and ridiculous

DH's - They are so dilatory about the whole thing!

KatieDD Sounds like you have a lot on your plate ATM, do you get on well with your little bro?

welshlinz · 26/06/2008 16:52

hi katie,

Which appointment are you waiting for your DH to make ? The actual op or the consultation ? If I were you, I'd book it for him like I did with mine.

KatieDD · 26/06/2008 16:47

Hello,
busy with sorting my lil bro out, he's been sent up to me cos his mums had enough of him, 23 years old nowhere to live and no job [rolls eyes].
Anyway, hubby has promised me he'll make the appointment today, i'm fed up of asking him tbh so if he doesn't bring it up i'm not saying a word, i'll just throttle him if it gets to September and he's not booked in.
I'm waiting another 5 years before tackling any big projects, i started an OU degree when my youngest was 12 months old, never opened the pack tbh, such a waste of money.

welshlinz · 26/06/2008 16:46

hi both, i've had a friend round for the day today so been unable to keep up with my constant post checking on MN !! ( think its becoming a bit of an obsession )

Hope everyone is ok

Have your children got a bakers day tomorrow ? Ours have, and I have no idea why this close to the summer holidays !!

pinkmook · 26/06/2008 13:45

Not at work today Its all the ususal, PITA managers, snipy people, pressure, pressure, pressure got shouted at for 2 mins yesterday by a client..... the usual!

I know what you mean about the lots of reasons thing - I have deferred my MSc as I wanted to TTC and work was terrible and it all got too much but I feel like a big quitter now! We do beat ourselves up don't we?

Wonder where KatieDD and WElshlinz are today........

terrier141 · 26/06/2008 12:08

Yeah I was a social work assistant for 4 years and they were putting me through the social work degree. I got about half way through and packed it in (lots of reasons - not just that I'm a quitter cos i already have one degree), shame really cos I was doing well - all A's and B's - dont regret it though - might go back to it one day - who knows?? So whats wrong with your job today - are you just fed up - you have a lot going on so maybe its a combination?

OP posts:
pinkmook · 26/06/2008 11:34

TA jobs sound brilliant - I have considered it myself when I am having a I hate my job kind of day...for the very reasons you are doing it - no childcare issues.

You may be able to get those persona sticks cheaper on the internet. I never bothered as I only used it for 4 cycles - I got a massive 56 day cycle and never bothered with it again as that testing window was stressing me out!

LOL hoping to be "positive" but not holding out much hope in both senses of the word!

Did you say you were doing social work training further back up the thread that nyou had to give up because of childcare/money issues? I do a similar kind of work - work for probation but not a Probation Officer (I wont say exactly what I am as it might give my ID away!)

terrier141 · 26/06/2008 11:25

Its the Persona I got not clearblue - so Im looking at £10 a month then.

Its a crappy teaching assistant job - but hey ho - its money, its very local and there'd be no childminder needed.

You never know - sperm can live a few days - stay hopeful (was gonna say "positive" - but we'll save that word for a later date! Not too far away for at least one of us I hope - we need some inspiration!)

OP posts:
pinkmook · 26/06/2008 10:49

Terrier - thats a good deal you got on the clearblue - not sure how much the sticks for that cost - sticks for persona were about 10 quid per month.

I have been using the internet cheapie OPK's have tried the acon ones and some others but I think I have high LH levels (poss got PCOS) as I get several postives it seems. However it still gives me a clue when I combine it with looking at CM and temps.

On that note - I got my cross hairs on FF this morning - so apparently I ovulated on CD18 (right smack bang when we didn't have sex for 2 days....bollocks!!) Ah well, am getting used to the disappointment now!

Good news about the job terrier - whats it doing?

It must be very hard listening to the DC's talk about their new brother - even though I have become a bit hardened to hearing about other peoples "baby joy" It kills me when DS says he wishes we had a baby brother or sister for him. ((have a virtual hug))

xx

terrier141 · 26/06/2008 10:13

Believe me its hard! When the kids told me she was expecting I was a mess for weeks and the same for a little while after he was born. My dd has a photo of him in her room! Cant object really as he is her brother whether I like it or not! I just sort of smile and say "aww thats lovely" when they tell me stuff - but cant quite bring myself to "ask" about how he is - it hurts, not because I have any feelings for my ex (it was a dreadful relationship thats been over for 5 years and he's a crap dad anyway), but just because my kids have a new brother and hes not MY baby. Just really want to have a child so badly with dh cos he's everything my ex isnt - he's a fantastic dad and an amazing person. Just want the chance to experience a pregnancy within a normal, healthy, loving relationship.

I have two kids - dd is 8 and ds is 6, I also have two step-kids a dss who's 10 and a dsd who's 8 (yes the 2 girls are the same age, theres 6 months between them!)
Must be mad to want another one but cant imagine my life without another one!

welshlinz · 26/06/2008 10:02

thats great news about the job interview terrier
Must be really difficult hearing about your ex's baby all the time. Don't think I'd be able to handle that half as well as you seem to be. If you don't mind me asking, how many children do you have ? I have one daughter who is 5.

terrier141 · 26/06/2008 09:57

What OPK's are you using PM? I used ebay cheapies last month - but they didnt detect ov - mind you I stopped testing on cd16 - but thinking about how long my cycle ended up being I would have prob ov'd around cd18 or cd19! Bought my Persona monitor off ebay - brand new with 2 packs of sticks for £23 - so not too bad I thought? Dont know how much the replacement sticks will set me back every month though!

The worst pregnancy and birth announcements for me were recently - my ex and his new wife had a baby boy in March - so my dc's have a new baby brother - which is all I hear about!! Every time they visit him they come back full of great stuff like "you should see his cute little toes", or " he's smiling now", "he's laughing now", "if you say peek-a-boo, hes does this"! I have to react postively for their sake but I think im gonna have a detailed account of his full development - and it brings me close to tears every time I hear it!

Just found out (from a work colleague) that I have a job interview, although I dont know officially yet! My boss has been asked for a reference, its crap money but just down the road from me and fits in with the kids, so I guess would be ok.

Oh bollocks - Hypno conception CD - just reminded me - I have to actually listen to it! have forgotten to do it since sunday (it recommends listening to it daily) will listen to it tomorrow...... it is very relaxing though (I ususally fall asleep during )

welshlinz · 25/06/2008 22:17

hi, i meant the ovulation sticks really. Just a guide to see when the best times are to be trying.
I may get some in a couple of months to help things along. Got to be worth a shot hasn't it ?

By the way, pink, hows the hypno CD thing getting on ?

pinkmook · 25/06/2008 21:19

Linz - when you say ovulaion tester do you mean like a persona/clearblue monitor type thingy or buying Ovulation sticks every month??

I have a persona machine and dont bother with it now. Some people swear by them but I find ovulation sticks cheaper and easier along with monitoring CM/temp on Fertility Friend.

welshlinz · 25/06/2008 19:34

so girls, I need your advice. Is it worth investing in an ovulation tester for after the op or go random bonking and see what happens ?

pinkmook · 25/06/2008 19:16

KatieDD - I know! Inconsiderate shit! we cant TTC next cycle either because of my scan! harummmphh!

pinkmook · 25/06/2008 19:15

No welshlinz you don't sound spiteful at all. It 's really hard especially once you have had the reversal done and start TTC in earnest....then all the BFP's start popping up....for other people.....tis horrible but oddly I seem to have got used to it now.

You do get hardened to it a bit - chin up it'll be us next!

welshlinz · 25/06/2008 19:12

AAaggghhh!! One of my other friends has just rang me to tell me she is 3 months gone !

Really pleased for her but couldn't help feeling a little pang of jealousy when she told me the news ( that makes me sound really spiteful, doesn't it ??)

KatieDD · 25/06/2008 18:49

Oh no, how inconsiderate of him Pink !

I have my names sorted and DH's has agreed surprisingly

pinkmook · 25/06/2008 18:07

I am randy as an old goat when pregnant ....but its the getting pregnant bit thats proving to be hard! Shagging day after day and getting BFN's month after month is kinda disheartening! DH has broken his ribs today in a cycling accident so dont think there'll be much shagging for a bit any way! Not sure if I am annoyed coz can't TTC or releived TBH

terrier141 · 25/06/2008 16:51

never been that keen really - but now it seems that we HAVE to do it on specific days - otherwise we'll never have our baby! I am trying to be enthusiastic - honest! Getting more and more obsessed by the day now - have even started thinking of names - somebody stop me!!

OP posts:
KatieDD · 25/06/2008 16:44

Fed up of shagging oh dear, I can't see that ever happening here but maybe I'm kidding myself , that's the bit i'm really looking forward to, I have fantastic organsm's when pregnant

terrier141 · 25/06/2008 16:08

Aww thats disappointing for you kellykate. I know what you mean about the researching thing though - dont seem to hear of too much success - this thread is gonna change all that though xx
