Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

Hi Girls - CD 23 and still no ov thats why Ive been MIA waiting to bloody ov!

Stephanie - Not arcane at all - see the top of the page, next to heading "useful stuff", acronym list. Your DH sperm results sound quite good for a first sample, good luck!

welshlinz · 26/08/2008 15:25

Hi StephanieM, guess you've read the thread so know basically where we're all at but hubby had his reversed on the 11th July and we are now awaiting his 1st sample results.

StephanieM · 26/08/2008 14:18

Hello everyone

It's interesting to read all these messages - though I don't understand your arcane code exactly, I'm going to use plain english! My honey had the snip 6 yrs ago with his ex-wife after they'd had 2 kids, having decided that they didn't want any more. But then she came home pregnant by the neighbour - he's a sweetie so said he would raise it as his own. Then she moved in another boyfriend into his house, and he was still a sweetie... finally she just left, after getting my honey to buy them a house and a car... but this isn't about her, it's about my honey's snip [sorry, I get carried away]. We've been together 4 years and last Christmas he said he wanted to have a baby with me - much to my surprise - but I realised I was actually into the idea, so he got himself repaired (8th May) and a couple of weeks ago did his first sample. The consultant I'm seeing is a really poor communicator and so I don't really know what it all means, but he has 20% motility and 10% normal forms. I saw the WHO guidelines that you posted and he's not terribly below them... He also said that his sample looked a bit'rusty' - like there was old blood in it. ALSO, I am on medication which causes elevated prolactin hormone, which makes my body think I am breastfeeding, so I am not ovulating, haven't since Christmas. ALSO, I am 39 in October.

I didn't realise it would be this difficult - I'd already chosen names!

terrier141 · 23/08/2008 17:30

Hi - I know what you mean - you notice every little ache, pain, twinge etc etc!!

Not much going on here - not too hopeful as dh has been working loads (too much) and has been too tired half the time!!

xx

welshlinz · 23/08/2008 11:37

ok, pink and terrier, where are you both hiding ?? lol

Had stomach cramps like period pains last night. Was imagining all sorts Isn't it weird how you notice every little thing your body is doing when your ttc ?!! I'm becoming a nightmare for it !

Just anxiously waiting for DH's results to come back so I'm crossing all my fingers it's good news

How are you both getting on with everything ?

welshlinz · 21/08/2008 15:35

thanks rossco, I know exactly what you mean about the option of having any more children being taken away from you and that's really hard to deal with x
Possibly you could get your DH to consider a reversal ???

Rossco · 19/08/2008 11:54

I asked my dh if he was sure too. He said yes but asked if I was. I said not really but he just gave me ahug and said I'd get over it.

I have tried to get over it for 2 years! I know I'm being stupid and that we have 4 dc but I would love to have the option of another.

Good luck to all those ttc after a vas reversal.

welshlinz · 18/08/2008 21:36

hi all,

terrier, I can't believe he's offered you a mere £5.00 !! What a cheek ! It seems to be the norm now for alot of men to just give up the job instead of paying the CSA but confused as to why he decided to contact them in the first place ??

anyway, sorry to hear you appointment was cancelled, pink, but glad you're trying to look on the bright side xx

I have no idea when I'm meant to be ovulating cos for some bizarre reason I seem to be showing no signs whatsoever so mega confused. Oh well, DH is doing his sample on Wed so we have been abstaining since yesterday. I have told him we are definately BD wednesday evening to be in with a very slim chance of catching my ov this month. If I ovulated tomorrow ( Tues ), would we miss it by Wed night ??

terrier141 · 18/08/2008 19:19

Hi both - My Persona had the egg symbol today - so I guess I will ov tomorrow - anyway will bd in preparation!

Do you mind me having a moan about my ex husband?? You can let me no later if its bored you! lol!

Anyway he is the father of my 2 DC's and I havent had a penny off him since we split up 5 years ago (he actually left me with £7000 of debt that I am still paying). Now HE has started a new job and HE has contacted the CSA and asked them to calculate how much maintainence he should be paying. They have asked me for details etc. However on Saturday I have a text from his mum asking if I will accept £5 per week (yes thats right - a whole £2.50 each!!). I have of course declined as I feel it is an insult - but he has responded by saying that he will therefore give up his job!
He does live with 4 children (3 stepkids and 1 biological) and the CSA disregard a % of his income to allow for this - so I really cant see his problem. Obviously if the CSA calculated a huge amount I might consider meeting him have way (then again I might not - as hes always as deliberately awkward with me as he can be!)
What a wanker!!

Sorry girls - rant over - feel better now I got that off my chest!!
xx

yep terrier - V frustrating - they just said circs beyond their control

On the plus side though I was worried because when I went for my initial appointment they told me to do (the standard) day 2/3 and day 21 blood tests but sent me away with only the forms for day 2/3 test so have just rung up and explained that I thought the two had to be compared against each other and was now worried that after this huge delay I would get to app and they wouldn't be able to tell me anything...so the upshot is they are sending me forms for both blood tests through the post so I can do them before my new app in November! Trying to see the positives in this delay

Haven't ov'd today - wonder when it will be

you all ok?

terrier141 · 17/08/2008 13:48

pink - thats so bloody frustrating for you - I bet you are really fed up. Did they even attempt giving you an excuse??
As for the freebie test - Im not even gonna look at mine unless im late. Not sure theres a point to the "conception" thingy either!

OP posts:
pinkmook · 16/08/2008 17:23

Hi Girls - ov due Monday if I ov on day 14 but convinced I will not ov then as my CM pattern isn't pointing to it (TMI I know!) maybe Tuesday Wednesday but you never can tell with my cycles!

I got my clearblue test but not excited about sing it as I know it'll be a BFN My bloody consultant has just sent me a note saying my appointment is cancelled until November!!!! Can't believe it!

Hope you guys are OK

welshlinz · 16/08/2008 09:28

hi terrier, yes I registered but think it was possibly too late as I haven't received anything as of yet x

Hopefully I may be on a similar ovulation date to you then. If it was Wednesday we would stand a better chance this month. Guess we'll just have to wait and see now

terrier141 · 16/08/2008 08:52

Linz- going off what my Persona monitor has said for the last 2 months - I ov'd on cd15 (1st month) and cd14 - so Im guessing it should be Tues or Wed for me - you could just about do it if your cycle is similar!

Anyway, I bled again this morning, but seems to have settled now - seems to occur during sex - so could be cervic erosion as i have had this before (and numerous embarrassing procedures to deal with it!), but not recently.

Did either of you register for the free Clearblue test thing? I got mine yesterday - very posh - just need an occassion to use it now!

OP posts:
welshlinz · 15/08/2008 10:48

terrier, not that great on when I'm meant to be ovulating really but thought it was Monday ? Does this sound about right for when you are both due aswell seeing as we are all on near enough the same cycle this month ?

terrier141 · 15/08/2008 08:42

Linz- no my af has definately finished and has never lasted that long - its stopped again now - bizarre!
Bet you are really frustrated! Still you could always try Tues night - you might still catch it as the egg can survive 24-48hrs apparently - when do you expect to ovulate?

Pink - hows the shagging going? lol!

OP posts:
pinkmook · 15/08/2008 08:39

Terrier - no advice except to say from personal experience, experience of friends and reading millions of threads on here and other places....when you start TTC a lot of peoples cycles go wacky. Just out of my 4 of my friends who started TTC in the last couple of years all of us have ad 12 months of strange cycles before settling down.

How long have you been TTC now? about 3 months or so? It's still early days yet so try not to worry too much - if things still strange in a few months do like I did and get referred. I know its easier said than done though! Believe me 12 months on I am getting a bit sick of TTC!

welshlinz · 14/08/2008 16:45

terrier, I have no idea what's going on with that sorry x does your AF usually last this long ?

Went to see the consultant today who said the infection is alot better and the blood clot has gone done 50%. He was pleased with everything and said none of these things will affect the chances of the op being successful so HOORAY !!

DH has been given his pot for the first semen analysis so it needs to be done on Tuesday. I've worked out that if we need to abstain for 3 days prior I think I'm going to miss my ov days this month so guess ttc will have to wait till next month !! So frustrating !!! (((stamps feet like spoilt child))))

terrier141 · 14/08/2008 11:39

Hi both,
Linz - lets hope the consultant comes up with some encouraging news - sounds like your dh is having a really bad time - poor thing - stressful for you too!
No - my dh hasnt got around to putting sample in yet - Im not that stressed about it at the mo to be honest - the pup is keeping me very busy, and with 4 kids here most of the time im not getting chamce to think about it!

Okay - I need your advice - Im on cd9 today - yesterday I was spotting and today Im bleeding enough for a tampon - what the hell is going on do you think??

Pink - go for it!! xx

OP posts:
welshlinz · 13/08/2008 21:06

lol pink, we had a go last night too but can't help worrying that if DH has got an infection, is there any chance he could pass it on to me ??

Phoned the consultant yesterday anyway and said I wasn't very happy as he hasn't seen DH once since the op despite all these problems so he's fitted him in tomorrow Just feel I need him to say everything is ok to put my mind at rest.

Terrier, has your hubby put his sample in yet ??

pinkmook · 13/08/2008 09:33

Hi Linz - maybe he will start to feel better in time for this month? If not, you will both be even more up for it by next month hopefully so its all good

We started bonking last night (CD8) starting early this month! just hope I dont get a really long cycle now and run out of steam before ov

welshlinz · 11/08/2008 21:35

Thanks all x DH is not really much better so has to go back tomorrow to see if he's improving or whether further tests are needed !! I'm probably thinking we won't bother ttc this month as I don't want him to feel any pressure on top of being so poorly Will just see how it goes x Anyway, how's things with everyone ?? All ready for the month of bonking ahead ?

pinkmook · 11/08/2008 16:21

you're bound to feel like its some kind of "omen" but really its not. Fingers crossed for your TTC'ing this month.

terrier141 · 11/08/2008 08:32

Sorry to hear that linz - feel really sorry for your dh - he must be in agony poor thing!
Sounds like my dh got off very lightly! xx

OP posts:
welshlinz · 10/08/2008 19:43

thanks pink. the doc says neither the blood clot or the infection will make any difference to the op but can't help thinking that it hasn't worked now !! Oh well, we'll see what happens. This is the 1st month we're going to ttc so fingers crossed x
