Does anyone have experience of this? Hubby has just had it done and we are nervously awaiting the outcome!

welshlinz - I know what you mean - it gets hard work when you are tired!! Lie back and think of Wales

I have cut and pasted what reiki is:

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A bit new agey I know but wierdly felt like it worked and she told me I had a "blockage" in my throat area which she said meant I was holding back from saying something important - I am guessing this is to do with work as I cant say how I really feel about all the stuff thats happened because of all the back stabbing and stuff!

She also said I have the most energy in my legs she has ever expereinced!! All through the reiki I felt like I could run a marathon, really energised, so its weird she picked up on that!

Linz - did you get your letter with the percentages etc in yet from DH's sperm tests?

welshlinz · 15/09/2008 09:34

hi all, pink have never had that treatment before. Is it like a massage or something ?

I've been so crap this month with my ttc. Normally I can feel when I'm ovulating but have had no signs at all yet. I figured that because my AF started on the 1st, technically I would be ovulating about now

Just feel soooo tired at the mo that the thought of BD is way too much energy !!! but needs must

pinkmook · 14/09/2008 10:34

Hi SHM - I dont know if the reiki will help conception but it was certainly a relaxing way to spend an hour so thats gotta help eh??

Good luck with DH's next sample let us know how you get on (am sure it will be up)

xx

shm · 13/09/2008 22:59

Do you think anything like reiki etc will help conception? Are there any good treatments?

DH is delivering second sample on Wednesday, so I hope that the numbers will be up from last time (he had reversal May 8 this year).

Of course, the fact that I've not had a period since Christmas 2007 prolly isn't helping!

pinkmook · 11/09/2008 18:26

Hi Girls - sorry for the long absence been mega busy.

Wow aren't you two gorgeous! Loving the naughty nurse outfit Linz and Terrier what a beeyoootiful wedding picture!

I am having puppy envy! Wish we could get one but not sure I could do the poo picking up people have to do these days!

I got reiki - ied yesterday (is that even a word?!!) it was so relaxing and really weird how she was able to pick up on stuff she didnt know about me

Glad you are both feeling a bit less worked up abut TTC. I have to admit I reached a plateau a few months ago where I just adjusted to the fact this all could take some time and even that it may never happen

Terrier - you like the Levellers? I LOVED the Levellers when I was a teenager! LOL I hadone of those long sleeved Levelling the Land tops and everything

welshlinz · 11/09/2008 13:15

terrier, you're gorgeous aswell !!
what a cute puppy btw... reminds me a lot of my little one.

It's so nice to put faces to the people I've been telling all my secrets to these last few months. xx

welshlinz · 11/09/2008 12:46

hi, just added you now x

terrier141 · 11/09/2008 11:55

Done!

welshlinz · 11/09/2008 11:07

terrier, puppy is fine. We actually took her to a puppy party last night ( all our friends think we are mad )

The vets host them to get all the puppies together and talk through how to check their nails and stuff. Really good.

Looked on FB but can't find you as I'm not a member of that group. I've opened an email address if you want to send me your name and I should be able to find you off that.

the address is [email protected]

( Don't ask about the name...wanted something unrecognisable lol )

terrier141 · 11/09/2008 09:56

linz - you seem to have reached the same conclusion as me with the ttc - if it happens it happens! Tbh convincing myself I was pg every month and them being devasted when I wasnt was having a really bad effect on me! I still do it to a certain extent - but only when af is looming close by do I dare to even think theres a chance!
On FB have a look at the mumsnet-whats your mumsnet name thread.
My dh had 1 days holiday left to use before the end of Sept - so I have got him to book it for next mon when I think I will be due to ov! - Ok so maybe I am still ever so slightly obsessed! But at least I can walk past the baby clothes in Asda without being overcome with emotion now!
Think its cos I got my puppy to baby! Hows yours doing?

Pink - how are you? xx

OP posts:
welshlinz · 11/09/2008 09:45

hi terrier, not too sure how to do it either. we need pinkmook to help us !!

hows things going with ttc ?? Got to be honest, that letter with DHs analysis was a real wake up call for me and I haven't even been thinking about trying this month at all ! Feel so much better knowing what we're up against and I've developed a better attitude about it all. The chances of us conceiving are very low at this stage so I'm just thinking if it happens it happens rather than expecting to be pregnant at the end of each cycle

glitterfairy · 10/09/2008 13:52

The baby is gorgeous and her older children are going to spoil her rotten.

terrier141 · 10/09/2008 09:40

Thanks glitterfairy - we love a good success story to keep our spirits up!

glitterfairy · 10/09/2008 08:18

One of my friends has just had a baby after her hubbies was reversed and she is over 40.

terrier141 · 10/09/2008 07:59

Hi - I have enabled the CAT thing - but dont know how to request to send you an email! Im a bit shit at this type of thing!

OP posts:
welshlinz · 09/09/2008 21:17

hi terrier, you need to log into your profile on mumsnet, click on email options and enable the CAT thingy so other mumsnetters can contact you. If you request to send me an e-mail I can pick up your profile on facebook through that ( I think ). Worth a try

terrier141 · 09/09/2008 20:27

Hi - sorry you got af Pink
How did you find each other?
I have tried to join the MN group on FB but am awaiting acceptance!
I feel left out now - I wanna see who I've been talking to!!

OP posts:
welshlinz · 09/09/2008 18:14

sorry to hear AF arrived, pink x

In my photos on FB I have long hair but I recently got it cut off into a bob so look a bit older now lol

pinkmook · 09/09/2008 17:22

Its funny Linz - I was going to say the same to you! I feel dead old compared to you! - You're a young whippersnapper!

Aw its really nice to be able to put a face to the name, when terrier comes back on we will have to get her FB.

Well I am out for this month AF arrived this afternoon (boooo!)

Never mind. Back to bonk fest!

welshlinz · 09/09/2008 13:27

hi pink, just got your request. Wow... you are stunning !! It's really strange putting a face to the name after all this time lol

pinkmook · 08/09/2008 21:36

Bollocks I have never used CAT before but when I clicked on it it says you have to pay 5 quid (rip off!) for the yr. I am not sure if you also have to pay to receive CATs (it doesn't specify)I am desperately trying to think of a way to do this without paying a fiver (cheapskate emoticon!) I have a very distinctive name so cant really even give clues without it being easily guessable! Are you a member of the mumsnet facebook group? If so would I be able to recognise your profile pic if you give me some clues?? LOL

pinkmook · 08/09/2008 21:29

Wow only 4 weeks - well then that sperm analysis will not be representative at all!! We were told (and I have also since read) that analysis before the 3 month mark is pretty pointless so I really wouldn't worry about that AT ALL! You need one at 12 weeks then if necessary another one at 6 months.

Will try and CAT you now

welshlinz · 08/09/2008 21:05

hi pink, will try and do the CAT thing now.

It was only 4 weeks after the op that DH had the sample done so I know it was quite early. He doesn't smoke or drink so that will help and I'm getting him started on the supplements asap.

pinkmook · 08/09/2008 20:25

Have tried CATting you both but you have niether got CAT switched on - you need to log into your profile, click on email options and enable the CAT thingy

pinkmook · 08/09/2008 20:21

Hi Everyone - do you have CAT switched on? If so I can CAT you / or you me, names

Linz - I think I am on the mumsnet thingy - it rings a bell that I may have joined it!

As for sperm reults - How far from the original op are you? Early sperm results can be really crap. My DH's at the mo are 11.3 million per ml but at the initial sperm test were way waaaay less (dont have the actual numbers as we never were told them by the doctor but when we got to see the consultant he told them to us in the context of saying that DH's sperm results had improved and I remeber being at how much worse they were!

What I guess I am saying is - try not to worry too much as you are not far out from the reversal IIRC so things WILL improve. Get your DH on zinc, B complex, magnesium, L carnitine selenium supplements, try and cut down on (or cut out) alcohol. If he smokes he needs to give it up (easier said than done I know!) and try and get both of you eating loads of unprocessed, fresh fruit and veg etc - all tips I have read to improve sperm.
