A few days into my two week wait now, period due around 2nd of March.

Trying not to get too excited as I'll soon be 40 and I know my chances are lower - nevertheless, I found myself downloading a pregnancy tracking app this morning and looking at all the visuals of what the baby would look like at various stages 🙃

Anyone else out there want to wait with me? Crossing fingers and toes for my November baby!!

@EmPeEf I can’t see anything yet but still early… the TWW is so slow!

EmPeEf · 24/06/2025 16:01

I thought I had a faint line on a cheap strip yesterday, but I’m wondering if it was a fault with the dye or something.
Had one of those horrible white indents on a Boots test as well. Never buying those again.
My temp seems to have dipped today so these cramps might be AF coming which means I have a short luteal phase ☹️

9dpo and I can’t tell if there’s a faint line on this first response or not. I know it’s still early but given my temp drop I feel rubbish.

@CheekyLittleD it must be good that it’s earlier than usual right?

I think OPK testing can get so stressful though. I must have missed my peak test last month and this month just got negative blank circles and just one static smile (never any flashing faces). Hard to know what to do other than try and DTD lots…

I only managed to DTD 3 times over fertile period - once on static smile day. Hoping it’s enough. I am 6 DPO and so desperate to feel something or test… TTC is so stressful

CheekyLittleD · 24/06/2025 13:44

Last couple of cycles, I've ovulated at some point post the 20 cycle day mark, based on OPKs and how dpo my period has come after - usually around 13 days.

This time around, I've had two days of high OPKs from CD9 before hitting peak on CD10 (which was yesterday evening). Very unexpected but we BD on CD8 and CD9, and again on CD10 but my partner didn't quite finish the job as it were. We're going to go again tonight, but really can't get my head around why ovulation has come around so early this time.

Either way, really does highlight why it's so important to test as soon as your period ends. Because we definitely would have missed our window this month if we hadn't.

EmPeEf · 23/06/2025 02:30

So I’ve had a really tough few days but it seems to come in pockets. When I’ve felt okay I’ve felt really well. Did some decorating, groomed the dogs etc. Then it comes on again and I feel rough and have to nap.

Yesterday however, in addition I had the worse menstrual cramps I’ve had since I can remember. So bad. Tonight I have a bit of brown spotting. So I guess in a few days I’ll get an answer about what’s been going on this month. It could all have been a write off after the miscarriage explaining no positive LH test, and I’m about to come on a real period. Or maybe a thousand eggs implanted over the last day or so because that’s what it felt like 😂

Now “8dpo” and my charts look like this, so I’m hoping I did OV 🤞🏻

EmberR · 22/06/2025 15:59

Huge congrats @Bumblebee1984 !!! So exciting

Bumblebee1984 · 22/06/2025 09:12

Little update from me. Think I’m about 11dpo and got my bfp this morning. Was feeling really off past couple days. Like hungover. Nauseous and lightheaded. I’m 40 and this was really our second cycle ttc number 3. We were on holiday and only got back early hours yesterday morning so a little holiday baby. Think being so relaxed helped

That sounds difficult, hope you managed to enjoy the newborn snuggles. Hopefully your turn next

EmberR · 21/06/2025 13:28

hope everyone is feeling ok today. I have my cousin visiting with her newborn. Bit worried I will just bawl my eyes out… although my DS is making me laugh as he keeps telling me babies are sooo boring 😆🤣

@EmPeEf i hope you’re feeling better? I was so nauseous yesterday I think it was ovulation hormones. I had to take an anti sickness tablet and lie down it was that bad. I also worry my body is broken and it’s all perimenopause crap and it wouldn’t even cope if I managed to get pregnant. Sometimes being a woman sucks massively

@Clara202 thank you for sharing the info I didn’t know this at all. This week I’ve had cm and felt weird so I assume I’ve ovulated already but who knows. I’ll keep checking as I have opk sticks left xx

I totally should have taken an anti sickness. I ended up just laying in one position on the sofa with my eyes shut trying to cope it out lol. Feel a lot better this morning.
I ended up only being awake for six hours yesterday so quite possibly @MrBigsCat My fibromyalgia likes to flare up and give me copy cat illnesses when stuff is going on in my body or I’m stressed so could also be that.

EmberR · 19/06/2025 09:32

@MrBigsCat fingers crossed AF doesn’t arrive and it’s your month xx

Clara202 · 19/06/2025 08:26

@EmberR yes it’s detecting a surge but that doesn’t mean that an egg has been released. I had cramps and a lot of ewcm a week later so I decided to test again and I had a static smiley and a cheap opk was blazing positive also. My body never seems to do the same thing from month to month though, so many I’m unusual but I’m glad I temped to confirm.

MrBigsCat · 19/06/2025 07:50

I’ve had a particularly high progesterone luteal phase- massive bloat as in I’ve come straight home and had to put on my pjs
loads of cm
emotional
I think progesterone can affect everything @EmPeEf and send us mental, but could you actually be ill with a big maybe?

i had something that could be nothing- I was 8dpo and I had a left ovary pain and left groin stabby pain that came and went for about 30 mins. The next day I had one wipe of brown blood and nothing since.
However tests up till 10dpo have been negative and not had any more tests to test since!
af is due tomorrow so don’t have long to wait

EmPeEf · 19/06/2025 01:05

And dizzy! Omg. My nausea is like hangover mixed with something else. It’s so extreme. And coming in waves every hour or so. Anyone else experience symptoms like this after ovulation? I’m starting to worry my body is too old and broken to be able to hand a pregnancy if this is how I feel even before implantation or anything.

EmPeEf · 19/06/2025 00:05

I’ve felt so ill today. Sick as a dog but I can’t be sick, and my disability pain has flared up. I think/hope it’s progesterone kicking my arse. I’m like 3/4dpo I think.

EmberR · 18/06/2025 16:37

@Clara202 whoah that’s crazy!!! Is that even possible?

From what I’ve read, it’s quite common especially for people with conditions such as PCOS. Their body will attempt to ovulate and not succeed. So it will attempt again. This leads to a longer cycle as the luteal phase will still be the same length. Hence people saying there’s no late period, only late ovulation.

EmberR · 18/06/2025 16:37

Clara202 · 18/06/2025 15:41

@EmberR I suggest you do temping also if you’re not already. Clearblue had me ovulating twice this month, two static smilies a week apart. It was only when I did temping that I confirmed that the first one didn’t happen and the second one was the ‘real’ one.

MrBigsCat · 16/06/2025 13:18

I’m 10dpo and bfn
feeling really flat this month like it may never happen- it’s not like me I’m usually really positive 🙁
going to avoid ‘trying’ apps/ tests/ counting days etc for a while

I’m so sorry lovely, it’s soul destroying every month isn’t it. I’m back around to another fertile window so again we live in hope. Sending love ❤️

EmberR · 18/06/2025 09:11

Thank you all. Every month is a new opportunity right and we all have to stay positive and hopeful. Thank you for this community and support it is so appreciated x

TheFutureIs · 18/06/2025 08:00

Also fingers crossed for you x

TheFutureIs · 18/06/2025 08:00

It could be, fingers crossed for you! My understanding is that sperm live up to 5 days while the egg only has about 24 hours after ovulation so sex before is more important than after
